Worried about the Galaxy Z Flip 7's screen durability? Here's what Samsung says.

C. Scott Brown / Android Authority TL;DR Samsung Display has confirmed that the Galaxy Z Flip 7's folding screen durability is on par with that of the Galaxy Z Fold 7. This comes after the company revealed that the Z Fold 7's screen can better withstand extreme temperatures. That means the folding screen on both phones is significantly more durable than their predecessors. Samsung Display recently announced that the Galaxy Z Fold 7's folding screen is rated for an impressive 500,000 folds. The company then told us that the Z Fold 7 panel can better withstand extreme temperatures. What about the Galaxy Z Flip 7's folding screen, though? We asked Samsung Display whether the Galaxy Z Fold 7's screen durability figures applied to the Galaxy Z Flip 7: In response to your follow-up question, the test commissioned to Bureau Veritas (sic) was conducted exclusively on the foldable panel used in the flagship model, Galaxy Z Fold 7. However, we internally assess that the foldable panel used in Galaxy Z Flip 7 also offers durability on par with that of Fold 7, as it incorporates various durability-enhancing technologies as well. In other words, only the Galaxy Z Fold 7's folding screen is formally rated for 500,000 folds at room temperature, 60,000 folds at -20 degrees Celsius (-4 degrees Fahrenheit), and 300,000 folds at 60 degrees Celsius (140 degrees Fahrenheit). However, Samsung Display's comment suggests the Galaxy Z Flip 7's folding screen should achieve similar figures if formally tested. The Galaxy Z Fold 7's rated folds represent a major step up for Samsung foldables. Samsung previously disclosed these figures for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5, revealing that its 2023 foldables were rated for 200,000 folds at room temperature, just 30,000 folds at -20 degrees Celsius, and 150,000 folds at 60 degrees Celsius. So while the Fold 7 (and evidently the Z Flip 7) has a dramatically shorter life in cold conditions, it's still a big improvement over previous Samsung foldables. QC gets ISO 37000:2021 for good governance

Tribune News Network Doha As part of its continuous efforts to strengthen institutional governance and adhere to international best practices, Qatar Charity (QC) has been awarded ISO 37000:2021 certification for organisational governance, becoming one of the first humanitarian organisations in the region to earn this prestigious accreditation. This achievement adds to an impressive list of international certifications previously obtained by the organisation, including ISO 9001 for Quality Management, ISO 27001 for Information Security, ISO 31000 for Risk Management, ISO 37301 for Compliance Management, and ISO 18295-1 for Customer Contact Centres. These recognitions reflect Qatar Charity's commitment to applying global best practices across its administrative and operational systems. The ISO 37000 certification was granted following a rigorous auditing process conducted by Bureau Veritas, a global leader in inspection, certification, and auditing services. The certification process took place in two main phases: the first focused on evaluating the governance system's responsibilities, documentation accuracy, and policy clarity; the second assessed the effectiveness of implementation across the organisation's departments. The certificate was officially received by Mohammed Al-Ghamdi, Chief Governance and External Affairs Officer at QC, from Hossam Al-Rifai, Director of Bureau Veritas – Qatar Branch. In a statement on this occasion, Al-Ghamdi expressed pride in the achievement, noting that receiving the ISO 37000:2021 certification is the culmination of extensive efforts and a strategic direction undertaken by the organisation to establish and implement an integrated governance framework. He emphasised that the certification is not merely a goal, but a reflection of Qatar Charity's ongoing institutional maturity and its commitment to continuous improvement in the service of humanitarian work. Qatar Charity has prioritised building a robust and comprehensive governance environment—one that ensures the integration of administrative, oversight, audit, and evaluation roles. This enables informed decision-making, enhances the efficient use of resources, and supports the achievement of long-term developmental impact. Notably, ISO 37000:2021 is the world's first international benchmark for the governance of organisations. It serves as a guiding standard for institutions that uphold the values of integrity, transparency, and social responsibility, while achieving a balance between stakeholder interests and sound administrative systems. The certification holds particular value for non-profit organisations, empowering them to strengthen credibility and accountability both internally and externally, increase development impact, and ensure sustainable, scalable practices.

How long will your Galaxy Z Fold 7 screen last? That depends on where you live.

C. Scott Brown / Android Authority TL;DR Samsung Display has revealed more details about the Galaxy Z Fold 7 screen's durability in extreme temperatures. Samsung told Android Authority that the folding screen is rated for 60,000 folds at -20 degrees Celsius and 300,000 folds at 60 degrees Celsius. This is a two-fold increase over the Galaxy Z Fold 5's folding screen durability in extreme temperatures. Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold 7 earlier this month, and it also revealed that the folding screen is rated to withstand 500,000 folds. However, history tells us that these screens don't last as long in extreme conditions, and we now have more details. We asked Samsung Display about the Galaxy Z Fold 7's screen durability in cold conditions. The company told us that Bureau Veritas rated the inner screen for 60,000 folds at -20 degrees Celsius (-4 degrees Fahrenheit). This doesn't sound like much, but it's a massive improvement over a couple of years ago. Back in 2023, Samsung Display disclosed that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5's inner screens were rated for 30,000 folds at -20 degrees Celsius. Your foldable phone display will clearly have a significantly shorter shelf life if you live in an extremely cold place, but the Z Fold 7 still offers a meaningful durability upgrade. That 60,000-fold figure equates to 30 folds a day for just over five years or 40 folds a day for a little more than four years. However, it also means 100 folds a day for just over 18 months. What about using the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in a hot climate? Samsung Display also told Android Authority that the Fold 7's folding screen is now rated to withstand 300,000 folds at 60 degrees Celsius (140 degrees Fahrenheit). That's double the Fold 5 and Flip 5's 150,000 folds at the same temperature. Samsung's foldable safety guide also notes that its devices should only be used in temperatures from 0 degrees Celsius to 35 degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit to 95 degrees Fahrenheit): Using or storing the device outside of the recommended temperature ranges may damage the device or reduce the battery's lifespan. Nevertheless, I'm glad Samsung Display improved the durability of the Galaxy Z Fold 7's folding screen. After all, millions of people live in areas that frequently drop below or exceed this recommended temperature range.
