Abdallah El-Said signs new two-year Zamalek contract
Veteran midfielder Abdallah El-Said has extended his contract with Zamalek by two more seasons to stay at the club until the summer of 2027, the Cairo club announced on Thursday. The White Knights marked the announcement with a video shared on social media, titled "The story is still unfolding. We are the kings, we are Zamalek," featuring tributes from El-Said's teammates and newly appointed coach Yannick Ferrera. The 40-year-old playmaker joined Zamalek in January 2024 on an initial 18-month deal from Pyramids FC where he made183 appearances, scoring 47 goals and provided 44 assists across all competitions. . During his spell at Zamalek, El-Said has become an influential player, featuring in 58 matches, during which he scored 13 goals and provided eight assists, helping the club lift the CAF Confederation Cup, CAF Super Cup and Egypt Cup titles. The extension is part of Zamalek overhaul following a disappointing campaign that saw them finish third in the Egyptian Premier League and exit the CAF Confederation Cup at the quarter-final stage. The club started their rebuild last month by appointing Belgian coach Ferrera and signing Pharco FC duo Ahmed Sherif and Amr Nasser, along with goalkeeper El-Mahdi Soliman and Angolan winger Chico Banza. Wydad to Face Qatari Club Al Sadd in Friendly
Wydad AC will take on Qatari champions Al Sadd in a pre-season friendly for the 'Al Ahrar Cup.' The match is scheduled for Sunday, August 10, at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha. Al Sadd confirmed the fixture as part of their summer programme, returning from their training camp in Spain on August 4. This will be Wydad's first outing since the 2025 Club World Cup, as the Casablanca-based side continue preparations for next season, including a campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup. Chiefs finally win It was Chiefs' first win of their pre-season tour, with 19 year-old striker Naledi Hlongwane getting the winning goal. Defender Aden McCarthy, left back Kabelo Nkgwesa, and attacking midfielder Thulani Mabaso were other youngsters to feature in the game against Zwolle. 'Naledi has the quality to get far in the game of football. But this is just a start. Scoring has to be a habit of a striker,' Miguel told the Chiefs official website. 'We have a lot of very talented youngsters: Hlongwane, Mabaso, Nkgwesa, McCarthy… However, talent alone is not enough. They need to continue working hard to continuously improve their game. Zamalek sign Pharco FC forward Ahmed Sherif
Zamalek have officially secured the signature of forward Ahmed Sherif from Pharco FC on a five‑year contract, the Cairo giants announced on Tuesday. The 22-year-old becomes Zamalek's fourth signing of the summer transfer window, following the arrivals of his teammate Amr Nasser on Monday, and goalkeeper El-Mahdi Soliman and Angolan winger Chico Banza on Sunday. Sherif scored 13 goals in 109 games across all competitions for Pharco FC since joining the club from second-tier side Wadi Degla in 2021. Wydad Signs Congolese Midfielder Joseph Bakasu
Wydad Athletic Club have signed Congolese midfielder Joseph Bakasu on a four-year deal coming from Maniema Union. The 21-year-old will join the Casablanca-based club as a free agent following the expiry of his contract with the Congolese club. According to AfricaFoot, the deal is worth around €650,000. Bakasu has already arrived in Casablanca to undergo the medical tests and finalize the signing. The club is expected to officially confirm the transfer within hours. The midfielder made 10 appearances in the CAF Champions League this season, scoring once against Raja Athletic Club. He is expected to join Wydad's pre-season training camp in the coming days. Bakasu becomes the latest addition to Wydad's squad during a busy transfer window, joining Stéphane Aziz Ki, Nordin Amrabat, Hamza El Hanouri and Bart Meijers.
