Cadbury's ‘best' chocolate that's only sold for a few months each year is back

Cadbury isn't exactly short of chocolate bars, snacks and desserts to satisfy a sweet tooth, but there are a few products we wish they'd add to the permanent line-up. One of the 'best' items the brand sells is hands down the Creme Egg, which is typically only available for the first few months of the year, launching after Christmas and disappearing after Easter. Filled with a gooey white and yellow fondant centre, the chocolate egg comes in both milk and white chocolate versions and is an Spring staple. This year it hit supermarket shelves in January, but was axed from supermarkets in the UK at the end of April. However, if you've been missing the sugary treat, there's good news as it's currently for sale in Costco and unsurprisingly, the wholesale retailer is selling the chocolate in bulk, so you'll definitely be able to get your fix (and then some). Those with a Costco membership card can head down to their nearest Costco warehouse and grab a box of 48 Cadbury Creme Eggs. The store is selling boxes of milk chocolate ones and boxes of the white chocolate ones for £19.99 each (£23.98 including VAT). Many will likely be thrilled to get their hands on the product once again, as they've been hailed as 'the best', 'a classic', 'a childhood favourite' and 'delicious' by Cadbury fans on Reddit. One person even loved them so much, they rated them a '700/10', which is particularly bold. There are 29 Costco warehouses around the UK, with discounts on everything from toiletries and groceries to petrol and big-ticket tech. You can't just walk in and start shopping though. Only certain professions can apply for in-store membership (priced from £33.60 per year). Alongside business owners, qualifying roles include the likes of local government, banking, medicine, education, or the police. But even if you don't fall into one of these categories, you may still be able to get in on the savings. According to MSE, AA, RAC and National Trust Members are also eligible to join at certain locations – including Birmingham, Sheffield and Cardiff. There is a catch with this kind of membership, though. You can only shop at the location you joined. Once you get the go-ahead, however, all you have to do is show the relevant info at the membership counter and shop 'til you drop. If Creme Eggs aren't for you, don't worry as Cadbury also has a few new items launching that might be more up your street and these will be available more widely in supermarkets across the UK. The brand recently announced they'd be launching colour-changing Dairy Milk chocolate bars this summer, as well as a brand new flavour. A new Iced Latte Dairy Milk will be available in June, which combines smooth coffee cream, biscuit pieces and the classic taste of Cadbury chocolate. More Trending But what's particularly interesting about this new product isn't the flavours – it's the packaging. That's because the chocolate bar comes in a temperature-activated packet, which visually transforms when it is chilled. Yes, that's right, in a somewhat unexpected move, Cadbury is actively encouraging people to put their chocolate bars in the fridge. In addition to the iced coffee-inspired new chocolate bar, Cadbury will be adding the colour-changing wrappers to regular Dairy Milk chocolate, so there will be four-limited edition bars available as well. These are all part of a range they are calling 'Cadbury Dairy Milk Chilled'. Do you have a story to share? US food critic tastes Toby Carvery roast for first time and compares it to one thing

An American man has shared his thoughts on Toby Carvery after visiting the British carvery chain for the first time A man from the US has shared his honest thoughts on his first time at Toby Carvery, saying he had "dreamt of this moment" and "waited all his life" to eat at one of Britain's most beloved carvery chains. Matt and Omar, an American couple from San Francisco, took a trip to the UK for Omar's sibling's wedding. The pair, who boast 1.4 million followers on TikTok thanks to their viral food reviews, didn't waste the chance to try beloved British fare, which included Greggs pasties, classic fish and chips, and Cadbury Creme Eggs. ‌ During their gastronomic adventure, they stopped at Toby Carvery in Bolton for a traditional roast. On their TikTok channel @mattandomar, Omar announced: "I took my American husband to Toby Carvery for the first time." ‌ Matt said he was "so excited" as he walked down the carvery line, where he opted for turkey and pork and piled his plate with accompaniments like stuffing, spuds, a Yorkshire pudding, and some vegetables. "What is a Yorkshire pudding, I thought pudding was a dessert?", he asked, puzzled, reports Bristol Live. After tasting his meal, Matt was thrilled but did compare it to one thing - a major US holiday. "That is Thanksgiving," he exclaimed. "It tastes like Thanksgiving in a bite. You can have Thanksgiving all the time here. We only have it once a year and you have it all the time. This is heaven." He wasn't particularly thrilled with cauliflower cheese, but concluded his dining experience saying: "I'm happy." ‌ The video of Matt's culinary journey quickly drew the internet's attention. An American viewer expressed their fondness for the experience, stating: "As an American, I loved Toby Carvery." Similarly, a Canadian confessed: "I love me a Toby Carvery. I live in Canada and crave a Toby whenever the weather is sad." ‌ Another individual felt excluded, sharing: "I live in the UK and I have STILL never been to Toby Carvery even when I drive past it nearly every day." ‌ The importance of a roast dinner was another point raised, with someone commenting: "Only having a roast dinner once a year is criminal. Sort it out, America!" Another remarked: "Oh I loved Toby Carvery for an easy family meal," while another took up its defence, scribing: "I think Toby carvery is underrated lowkey it's nice and I don't care, I'll stand by it." Toby Carvery itself couldn't resist joining in, as they posted: "We are obsessed." ‌ However, the establishment didn't win over everyone. A disappointed comment read: "My boyfriend is British and last year he took me to Toby Carvery because I always wanted to go and I literally cried because the food was disgusting." Another unimpressed diner blasted the eatery, writing: "I'm a British, love a roast, but Toby Carvery is awful." Omar received plenty of suggestions to take Matt to a Wetherspoons next for more British food reviews. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community!

Would you eat this Subway sandwich? See the new dessert the U.S. won't get

Sandwich chain Subway has rolled out a sweet concoction for fans that includes an Easter favorite, Cadbury Creme Eggs. Don't go looking for it at your favorite Subway, though. It's so limited you won't be able to get it in Ohio. Here's why. A picture of the "dessert," aptly named the Cadbury Creme Egg SubMelt, was shared on Instagram by food influencer Snackolator. It showed a Subway sandwich roll filled with melted Cadbury Creme Eggs. "This might violate just about all laws of nature, Subway had a new Cadbury Creme Egg SubMelt and it was *not* a late April Fools Day joke!" he wrote. As the name implies, several Cadbury Creme Eggs were placed on top the sandwich bread and toasted on the outside to melt the chocolate. However, the dessert was only available in the U.K. in 2023. "Just as with Subway's recent footlong creations here in the states, they have decided to just get crazy with it and release a very limited @cadburyuk Creme Egg sub at just four locations in the UK in 2023," wrote Snackolator in an Instagram post. "This was exactly what it looks like — a Subway sub roll filled with melted Cadbury Creme Eggs." Just like the sandwich itself, the appeal might have been limited. Back in 2023, Subway first introduced the melted chocolate Easter egg sandwich for a limited time to just a few locations in the U.K. Now, it's back, and according to Snackolator (who isn't too eager to try the dessert), the SubMelts were part of a free giveaway. There's no indication that the Cadbury Creme Egg SubMelt will make its way to the U.S., but Americans can still try the chain's other sweet offerings, including the footlong sandwich cookie, the regular footlong cookie, and other cookie flavors. There are 947 Subway locations in the Buckeye State, according to ScrapeHero. This includes 34 in Cincinnati, 54 in Columbus, and 18 in Akron, per Subway's website.
