Dean Cain makes shock claim about sexual harassment he was subjected to during Superman stint
Dean Cain on Tuesday said that he past suffered sexual harassment from a show business executive that was so brazen, he could have been in line for a record-setting litigation had he pursued it. The 58-year-old actor chat with Variety on Tuesday in a wide-ranging discussion that touched on his experience playing the role of the Man of Steel on Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman from 1993-1997. 'I could have had the biggest sexual harassment lawsuit in Hollywood history,' said Cain, who appeared as the beloved character for 87 episodes over the four seasons it aired. The Mount Clemens, Michigan-born actor, who was raised in Southern California, revealed to the industry outlet that he 'never before told a reporter' about the harassment. Cain, who has also been seen on shows such as Las Vegas, Clubhouse and Beverly Hills, 90210, declined to name names or add any revealing details to the shocking revelation. 'There were always murmurs' some clandestine activity was behind the unlikely end of the hit superhero series, and numerous data points that indicate the decision to take the show off the air was done hastily, Variety reported. A cliffhanger in the storyline to conclude the show's fourth season was not resolved, Variety reported. Cain had already penned multiple scripts and planned to direct multiple episodes in a planned fifth season that never materialized. 'The harassment [against the actor] took its toll on his relationship at the time with' Gabrielle Reece, the outlet reported in reference to Cain's one-time romance with the stunning model-volleyball player. The principal cast of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman included Cain, Teri Hatcher as Lois Lane, K Callan as Martha Kent, and late actors Lane Smith and Eddie Jones as Perry White and Jonathan Kent, respectively. The show starring Cain, who has been critical of Tinseltown politics in recent years, had also racked up five Primetime Emmy nods during its run. They included, in 1994, nods for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Main Title Theme Music and Outstanding Individual Achievement in Directing in a Drama Serie. In 1995, the series was nominated for Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Drama Series and Outstanding Individual Achievement in Costuming; and in 1996 for Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Drama Series.

Dean Cain reveals racist slur he was called after being cast as Superman
Dean Cain has opened up about a racist slur used against him after he won the role as the lead in the popular 1990s show Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. The actor, 58, who trashed the current Superman film starring David Corenswet as 'woke' before seeing it, revealed the nasty way a fan of the show once criticized him for being cast as the Man of Steel. 'It was 1993 and I remember a fan going, "We wanted Superman, not Sushi Man,"' he told Variety in a story published on Tuesday. Cain, whose biological father was a Japanese American serviceman, told the publication he was not offended by the comment. 'For the love of God, he's a Kryptonian. He could be green. Does it matter?' he asked after sharing his dismay over Hollywood's focus on firsts i.e., his being the first Japanese American to wear the red cape, Henry Cavill was the first British Superman and Corenswet as the first Jewish Man of Steel. 'For Superman, it was 'truth, justice in the American way.' Well, they dropped that … I don't think is a great idea,' Cain complained to TMZ prior to the film's theatrical debut. 'I think if you want to create a new character, go ahead and do that. But for me, Superman has always stood for 'truth, justice, and the American way.' ' The actor who is a Trump supporter, and has been friends with the President since he was a judge at the Miss Universe pageant in 2009, said he also took issue with writer and director James Gunn's description of the plot as an immigrant story. 'We know Superman is an immigrant — he's a freaking alien,' he said. Despite criticism from Cain and other conservative commentators, Superman has done quite well at the box office. The action-adventure written and directed by James Gunn had has earned more than $503.5 million globally, although it did not fare as well in international markets as it did domestically, according to Box Office Mojo. 'Superman has always been identified as an American character, and in some parts of the world, America is currently not enjoying its greatest popularity,' David A. Gross, of the movie consulting firm FranchiseRe told Variety after it opened at number one. Cain who has moved to Las Vegas after selling his Malibu home in May 2023 has opened up for the first time about being sexually harassed while starring in Lois & Clark. 'I could have had the biggest sexual harassment lawsuit in Hollywood history,' he claimed, but did not say who had harassed him or how. 'For the love of God, he's a Kryptonian. He could be green. Does it matter?' he said of the beloved superhero; pictured in Burbank, CA in October 2024 Lois & Clark came to an abrupt end in in 1997 after season four although he had already written several for a season five with plans for him to direct as well Lois & Clark came to an abrupt end in in 1997 after season four although he had already written several for a season five with plans for him to direct as well. Cain has spent the better part of his post-Superman career starring in faith based films. Most had small budgets, but they allowed the actor the opportunity to be a hands-on parent for his son, Christopher, now 25, whom he shares with ex-girlfriend, former Playboy model Samantha Torres. 'If you're making shows like The Chosen, or you're making a lot of these faith-based movies that I make, you're putting out content that affects people in what I would consider a very positive way, with good, strong morals and values,' he said.

Buffalo Bills sign two receivers with injuries mounting
Two pass-catchers have found themselves back with the Buffalo Bills this week. Thanks in part to a bit of a whirlwind of circumstances. Re-joining the team on a one-year deal is wide receiver Deon Cain, who was with Buffalo for training camp last summer, putting up three catches for 28 yards during preseason action. Cain was a 2018 sixth-round NFL Draft pick of the Indianapolis Colts out of Clemson. He has also played for the Eagles, Ravens, and Steelers, as well as for the Birmingham Stallions in the USFL, earning MVP honors during the 2023 USFL Championship game with a three-touchdown performance. Joining him in the Bills receiver group is an undrafted rookie receiver who proved to be a 96-hour release-then-resign player, Kelly Akharaiyi. Akharaiyi was gearing up for his first NFL training camp practice when he was waived along with punter Jake Camarda in order to make room for former Patriots tight end Matt Sokol and second-year wide receiver David White Jr. out of Jacksonville. White was excused from Friday's practice for personal reasons, then placed on the reserve/retired list. Buffalo then pivoted to re-sign Akharaiyi Saturday to the 90-man roster. While the opportunity this time of year is valuable for players to compete to earn a roster or practice squad spot, and for coaching staffs and front offices to evaluate their play and potential fit in the team's depth charts and cap space, the circumstances that led to their signing is "not ideal" as head coach Sean McDermott put it this week. At least four wide receivers were unavailable for the first padded practice of training camp Monday, with nearly half of their passing game targets -- Tyrell Shavers, Curtis Samuel, Elijah Moore, Kaden Prather -- and tight ends Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox, out due to injuries. While McDermott and company will hope those players will make a speedy and full recovery, others like Cain, Akharaiyi, and Sokol will have their chance to earn consideration to compete for a depth spot on the roster.

Cain consumed with grief in Emmerdale as he devastates Moira with cruel move
Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) hurt Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) in tonight's episode of Emmerdale, following a major development about Nate Robinson's (Jurell Carter) killer. Yesterday, DS Walsh told Cain and Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh) that Owen Michaels (Simon Haines) had confessed to killing Nate. Understandably, the news knocked them both. Not only did they have to try and deal with the fact Nate's murderer had been found, but they also had to try and come to terms with the fact a complete stranger was responsible for his death. We know of course, that none of this is true. Last Friday, John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) found Owen unconscious in his house. With knowledge that Cain and Tracy were desperate for closure, John left Owen to die and then wrote a note on his laptop, saying that he killed Nate. He believed that it would help Cain and Tracy with moving forward – but it just made things even worse. At Butlers Farm, Moira found Cain at the table. It was early morning, but Cain had been sat there for ages after struggling to sleep. Playing on his mind was the fact he will now never get a chance to confront Owen about Nate's murder. Moira attempted to make Cain feel better by reminding him that she knows exactly what it's like to lose a child. Unfortunately, a grieving Cain told Moira that the aftermath of Holly Barton's death isn't the same as Nate's, because she 'did that to herself'. Ouch. Cain spent the day consumed with negative emotion over the lack of closure regarding Nate. As John's guilt increased, Cain attempted to learn more about the sort of person Owen was from Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson). Liam had been visiting Owen as his doctor, but refused to tell Cain anything that would breach patient confidentiality. This left Cain incredibly annoyed and it led to him grabbing his best friend. Sent away from the pub, Cain took himself off for a walk to clear his head. He ended up back at Butlers Farm where he found Moira feeding some cows. More Trending Cain apologised to Moira and they hugged, with Moira being understanding of the situation Cain is currently in. As he left, Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) arrived. Topic of conversation turned to Owen and when Moira mentioned him planting Nate's phone in Frankie's playhouse, Robert was astounded. He found it incredibly odd that Owen would risk getting caught by heading to the place Nate lived – and will soon get very close indeed to the truth about Nate.
