Emmerdale confirms John twist in early ITVX release as Nate's body identified

The following article contains spoilers from an episode of Emmerdale that hasn't aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX. Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh) and Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) received the devastating news in tonight's Emmerdale that the body in the lake belongs to Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter). The discovery in the water was made last Friday. Youngster Kyle (Huey Quinn) saw divers pulling the body out and cycled to the pub to tell his family the news. Cain, Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), Ruby (Beth Cordingly) and Caleb Miligan (William Ash) all thought it was Anthony Fox, and then tried to prepare themselves for the inevitable police questioning. Ruby took a massive risk earlier in the week by going to the police station alone and confessing to his murder. She was questioned, but then let go after it was confirmed the body didn't belong to Anthony. Due to Nate being in the lake for nine months, he was identified through dental records. This led the police officers to Tracy's house and Butlers Farm, to confirm their discovery. Understandably, Tracy and Cain struggled to process all of the information. They weren't allowed to view Nate's body because it was so badly decomposed, and also faced intense questioning as the police tried to work out Nate's last movements. The officers discovered that Cain had a fight with Nate before he was killed. You'll remember that this happened because a rumour was circulating about Nate sleeping with Moira (Natalie J Robb) again. Cain punched Nate so hard Tracy thought he was going to kill him, but John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) ended up being responsible, after Nate reacted badly to some medication he had administered. Due to the attack, Cain was taken to the police station for another interview. By this point, Tracy had told the detective a lot of information, including that John was the last person who saw Nate alive. More Trending The officer wanted to talk to him, but he's still out of the village on his and Aaron's (Danny Miller) honeymoon. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Tonight's instalment ended with Cain being sent home from the station. He arrived back in the pub and was supported by his loved ones, but Tracy couldn't help grow suspicious of him. She was wondering if Cain is trying to create a cover story. After all, he wanted Nate dead before his disappearance. Could Cain go to prison for a crime John committed? Ethel Cain Says She Hunted Down Synths From the ‘Twin Peaks' Soundtrack to Make ‘Nettles'

Ethel Cain is getting ready to release her album Willoughby Tucker, I'll Always Love You on Aug. 8, and on Wednesday, she shared a preview of the project by offering her eight-minute single 'Nettles.' In an Instagram story posted to one of her art accounts, she said that the song was inspired by Twin Peaks, and that she hunted down the specific synths that composer Angelo Badalamenti used to make the show's classic theme song. 'Also fun fact,' she wrote in her Instagram story. 'To everyone saying the song reminds them of Twin Peaks; late last year i watched that video of angelo badalamenti explaining how he wrote laura's theme and loved it so much that i hunted down the synths he used for the twin peaks and bought them and those are the ones i used for 'willoughby.' that video is also the reason i decided to watch twin peaks lol.' More from Rolling Stone Ethel Cain Will Follow Album Release With 'Willoughby Tucker Forever' Tour Ethel Cain Says '#KillMoreCEOs': 'Make Them Fear' Bad Bunny, Japanese Breakfast, Ethel Cain, and All the Songs You Need to Know This Week In another Instagram story, she continued, 'For those asking, the specific keyboard I used for the nettles intro (i call them my angelo synths) was a Yamaha DX7s.' Badalamenti collaborated on the music with the show's creator David Lynch and singer-songwriter Julee Cruise, eventually creating the theme song 'Falling.' The classic track was the cornerstone of the 1990 soundtrack Music From Twin Peaks, and the song went on to win the 1991 Grammy for Best Pop Instrumental Performance. Cain said in a statement that 'Nettles' was written around the same time as her last album. 'This song and the last track on the record were both written the same week, the very first week I moved into the house in Alabama where I finished Preacher's Daughter,' Cain said. 'In similar fashion to Preacher's Daughter (specifically 'A House in Nebraska' and 'Strangers'), I wrote what essentially became the beginning and end of the story without realizing it. What were originally just little vignettes of emotion I was feeling at the time ultimately became the tentpoles for a larger narrative.' She added, ''Nettles' became a dream of losing the one you love, asking them to reassure you that it won't come true and to dream, instead, of all the time you'll have together as you grow old side by side. Every once in a blue moon, it feels good to slough off the macabre and to simply let love be.' In an interview with Rolling Stone, Cain opened up about her creative process and says she has multiple characters and generations all tied to the same universe across her albums. 'This is going to be 15, 20 years from now,' she says. 'I work very slow. That's how I like it.' John to ‘get away with murdering Nate' in Emmerdale as someone else is accused

There's never been any doubt over whether John would worm his way out of murdering Nate and disposing of Anthony and Emmerdale confirms it – so we'll call him Jammy John from now on. What's even jammier for the Teflon medic is that he doesn't even have to do the legwork in covering up his crimes – the Emmerdale villagers do it for him by incriminating themselves. As the body in the lake is exhumed, Ruby Miligan (Beth Cordingly), Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), Caleb (William Ash), and Chas (Lucy Pargeter) get nervous. They're all convinced it's Anthony and their minds run wild, Ruby's especially. She's so perturbed by the discovery that she decides to confess before the police come knocking on her door. Caleb is desperate not to lose his wife and suggests they go on the run instead. But before he can put the plan into action, Ruby sneaks out and heads down the station alone. Caleb hurriedly calls a solicitor, but not before Ruby has given harrowing details of the abuse she suffered – and made it clear Caleb had nothing to do with Anthony's disappearance. But whether the solicitor arrives in time remains to be seen. It soon becomes clear the body belongs to Nate, but Ruby gets far enough in her confession that she could still be in trouble for Antony's disappearance. While John is likely quaking in his boots at this latest development, Tracy, Cain, and Moira are distraught to hear the news. Worse still, they cannot see Nate as his body is too badly decomposed. More Trending That's likely a relief for John as that will make DNA harder to find, but what sees him getting off scot-free is that another name is immediately placed in the frame – Cain.
