'I think it was just getting too much': Aston Martin official gives Lance Stroll injury update, reveals Plan B
Image credit: Lance Stroll/Instagram Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll was missing from the Spanish Grand Prix final last weekend, where his teammate Fernando Alonso took ninth position with two points. He was dealing with pain in his hand and wrist after the Qualifying race in Spain, as a result of which Aston Martin had only one driver take part in the final race the next day. Now, more details of his hand condition and Aston Martin's Plan B have been revealed. What happened to Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll Aston Martin's Chief Trackside Officer, Mike Krack, told about Lance Stroll's health status and whether he will be able to take part in his home race, the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal. Stroll is reportedly dealing with pain in his hand and wrist, which has a connection with the fractures he suffered in the 2023 cycling accident and the surgery he underwent for the same. Krack said about Stroll, 'We have seen it with Lance in 2023, when he fought his way back, they [the drivers] want to drive, they do not want to be out. Very often I think they drive with probably more pain than they would even admit, to be able to drive, because this is what they love to do. Over the last weeks, there was a mention here and there, but you are never aware how much it is, and over the weekend, I think it was just getting too much. " Further explaining how Stroll got the problem checked before the final race in Spain, he said, 'I think at the end of the day, on Saturday after Qualifying, Lance and his team decided it was better to go and check, go and check again, and the recommendation was better not to race.' Also Read: Fernando Alonso finally meets Adrian Newey at Aston Martin factory, team drops major hint after fan asks to 'make a winning car' He also revealed that Aston Martin is looking forward to Stroll's return for the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal from June 13 to 15. In case Stroll is unable to return, the team has reserve drivers Felipe Drugovich and Stoffel Vandoorne on standby. But there is a problem — the two are taking part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which is scheduled around the same time as the Canadian Grand Prix. Whether either of them will be asked to give up on that race for the F1 race remains to be seen.

Throwback: When Norman Nato played padel with F1 drivers Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc
Norman Nato currently competes for Nissan in Formula E. He was earlier a part of Andretti before joining Nissan last year. This season has been dull for the Formula E driver, as even after he won a race, the results underwent an overhaul to implement penalties, which ended up costing him his position. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Before he gets back on the track, here's a throwback from one of his eventful days with some Formula 1 drivers. Norman Nato had shared pictures with F1 friends Two years back, Norman Nato joined Formula 1 champions Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc for a game of padel, and pictures from the day prove he even won a trophy for his performance in the game. Nato had shared a few pictures from their game of padel on Instagram in October of 2023 and wrote in the caption: 'Great fun playing in the very first @ padel tournament together with athletes from all different sports and backgrounds. A lot of fun and just a little bit of competition… #padel.' The pictures show Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc, Red Bull driver Max Verstappen, and Nissan driver Norman Nato posing with racquets during a game of padel. A picture also shows Verstappen and Nato posing with their trophies. Fans of the three racing drivers were surprised to see them together. A fan had commented on the pictures, 'Max using that Head Extreme One racket as a beginner is wild... Even the number 1 player of the world (Arturo Coello) avoids that racket.' Another had written, 'no competition here.' One more said, 'Personally, I think we need more video evidence of this happening.' Leclerc and Nato are close friends. Once, Norman Nato accompanied Charles Leclerc and his family to Ibiza for a group holiday. They all had a lot of fun in the picturesque location and had Nato posing shirtless under the Ibiza sun in several pictures from the location on Instagram. Also Read: At present, Nato will be prepping for the upcoming Jakarta E-Prix, scheduled from June 19–21. Verstappen and Leclerc will be seen getting back on the track at the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal.

Is there a Formula 1 race this weekend? Full F1 schedule
Is there a Formula 1 race this weekend? Full F1 schedule Show Caption Hide Caption 'F1': See new trailer with Brad Pitt ripping around a racetrack Watch the new trailer for "F1," with Brad Pitt ripping around in a very fast Formula 1 car. It's quickly become a year of papaya in Formula 1. McLaren's dominant run continued in the Spanish Grand Prix, despite concerns over a midseason rule change to wing flexibility. The changes originated from concerns with Red Bull and Ferrari in 2024 that McLaren and Mercedes were gaining an advantage with their wing designs. In response, F1's governing body — the FIA (Federation Internationale de l'Automobile) — handed down a directive with stricter tests on front wing flexibility starting in Spain. It didn't change much in the competitive picture at the front. McLaren was fastest all weekend and scored its third 1-2 result of the year with Oscar Piastri winning ahead of Lando Norris. McLaren now boasts a massive lead in the constructors' championship standings because of their recent run of form; both cars have finished in the top five on Grand Prix Sunday in each of the last eight races. There seems to be little other teams can do to catch them at this point of the season. It remains a close battle between Piastri and Norris for the drivers' championship after nine rounds of the 2025 championship. 'A PRETTY DETERMINED CHARACTER': First female F1 race engineer Laura Mueller on track with Haas' Esteban Ocon at Miami GP Will they be back on track this weekend? Here's what to know: Is there a Formula 1 race this weekend? No, the teams get a week off following the Spanish Grand Prix. That gives extra time for the grid to make the long journey from Spain to the host country of the next race: Canada. The F1 grid had short trips to make for the latest triple-header that started in Italy for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix on May 18, moved to Monaco for the Monaco Grand Prix on May 25 then headed southwest for the Spanish Grand Prix on June 1. Teams get a two-week break to make the trip across the ocean to North America for the Canadian Grand Prix. When is the next F1 race? The next F1 race will be the Canadian Grand Prix on Sunday, June 15. That race was a thrilling mixed-conditions affair in 2024 with Max Verstappen taking his sixth win of the season. It marked a turning point in his results, though, as he'd win just three of the remaining 15 races on the schedule. 2025 Formula 1 schedule, recap Here's a list of each Grand Prix race with the winner if applicable. STM strike could disrupt Montreal Metro and bus service for several days
Maintenance workers with Montreal's public transit service are planning to strike this month, leading to service disruptions outside of rush hour on both the bus and Metro lines. Quebec's labour tribunal ruled that workers with the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) can go on strike from June 9 at 12 a.m. to June 17 at 11:59 p.m. The union representing the workers, the Syndicat du transport de Montréal-CSN, and the STM agreed to provide essential services only during peak hours and late in the evening on June 9, 10, 11, 16 and 17. There will be extended service periods on June 12 and full service over Canadian Grand Prix weekend from June 13 to June 15, when the city sees a significant increase in traffic. The president of the union says the exception for Grand Prix weekend is due to security reasons and not because they're trying to appease the Formula 1 clientele. "They sell about 100,000 tickets each day for the Grand Prix," said Bruno Jeannotte. "So, considering that we're talking about 100,000 trips between Île Sainte-Hélène and downtown Montreal, if there's an emergency on the island or whatever, we have no choice but to be ready to react." Speaking at an unrelated news conference Tuesday, Mayor Valérie Plante said she was relieved the Grand Prix weekend had been spared of service disruptions, adding that she hopes both parties in the dispute come to a solution quickly so as to not penalize commuters. The union, which represents 2,400 maintenance workers at the STM, has been negotiating with the STM for over a year, asking for better working conditions like better schedules, and to scale back on outsourcing. Jeannotte says negotiations are still underway and could even continue during the strike, adding they're not aiming for an unlimited strike. "We're willing to negotiate certain points but not on the issue of subcontracting or privatizing the STM's public systems," he said. Éric Alan Caldwell, the chair of the Société de transport de Montréal (STM), Speaking alongside Plante, STM board chair Éric Alan Caldwell said the agency will hold a news conference Wednesday to address service disruptions during the strike. "We're working to have the best agreement for our workers but also for the financial health of public transit in order to maintain demand and see it grow," he said. "We're dealing with a situation where we have to fit into the money that is available for transit and that's why [there's] negotiations on both parts." On its website, where the transit plan for next week is outlined, the STM says its users should plan accordingly and encourages them to use active modes of transportation to get by or to work from home. Over the weekend, the union representing the STM's bus drivers, Metro operators, station attendants and adapted transit drivers also voted in favour of a strike. The union has been re-negotiating its collective agreement with the STM which expired in January and is making similar demands to the maintenance workers, as well as a salary increase. "This negotiation is part of something bigger, which is really the public transit funding crisis," said Plante. STM service limited to rush hour and late evenings on June 9, 10, 11, 16 and 17: Metro: • 6:30 a.m. to 9:38 a.m. • 2:45 p.m. to 5:48 p.m. • 11:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Bus: • 6:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. • 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. • 11:15 p.m. to 1:15 a.m. STM service offered on June 12, the eve of Canadian Grand Prix weekend: Metro: • 6:30 a.m. to 10:38 a.m. • 2:45 p.m. to 6:48 p.m. • 11:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Bus: • 6:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. • 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. • 11:15 p.m. to 1:15 a.m.
