Profuz Digital to showcase AI-powered LAPIS and SubtitleNEXT at IBC
Already in use by organisations such as Canal+ France, the Council of Europe and Bulgarian National Radio, Profuz LAPIS offers a comprehensive solution for managing multiple TV channels and organising vast media libraries, including films, documentaries, series, clips and promotional content. Built as more than a conventional AI-integrated asset manager, LAPIS serves as an orchestration platform that intelligently coordinates multiple AI engines, enriching workflows at every stage. By layering processes such as speech recognition and face detection, the system delivers more accurate, context-rich results while streamlining operations and boosting productivity.
Among its new features, LAPIS introduces 'Multi-AI Processing Integration,' enabling seamless connections with AI engines for transcription, translation, object detection, and face recognition, distributing workloads for optimal performance and faster processing. The 'Smart Task Distribution' tool assigns tasks to the most suitable AI engine based on factors like language, genre, or category, eliminating reliance on a single system. Additional updates include intelligent subtitle translation with time-slot management, voice synthesis from timed text, speaker identification and an array of advanced media processing capabilities.
SubtitleNEXT, Profuz Digital's timed-text platform used by broadcasters, universities and media houses across Europe, will also be showcased with its new Version 5.16. The update introduces batch subtitle translation, allowing multiple files to be translated automatically, and a text-splitting feature for improved multilingual accuracy. The platform now offers a REST API for integration with other systems, enabling remote control of operations such as speech recognition, file conversion and media playback.
Broadcasters benefit from expanded workflow support, including SDI and NDI integration for low-latency, high-quality graphics, teletext and closed caption delivery, along with new Decklink SDI capabilities for enhanced video output. The system also supports TTML-based formats like SMPTE-TT, IMSC 1/1.2, and EBU-TT.
With new tools such as the Volume Meter for audio monitoring and an upgraded media editor, Profuz Digital aims to deliver cutting-edge, integrated solutions that enhance broadcast efficiency, simplify live production, and elevate media management across the industry.
