4 speedy WRs to watch for Arizona Cardinals in offseason
Most believe that the Arizona Cardinals need a speed receiver as part of their offensive rotation. That makes sense. While Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson are not slow, they are not known for their long speed. Greg Dortch is one of the quickest players in terms of elusiveness and change of direction, but he is the slowest in the room in terms of long speed (with a 4.59-second 40 at his pro day). The Cardinals have some receivers on the roster to watch who can perhaps add that element. Advertisement Darren Urban noted the addition of Quez Watkins. He isn't the only fast guy, although he is the fastest. Wide receivers to watch to fill No. 3-4 WR role Quez Watkins: Watkins ran the 40 in 4.35 seconds and is six feet tall. He had over 600 yards in 2022, averaging 15 yards per catch with the Eagles. Zay Jones: Jones was playing like the WR3 in terms of snaps by the end of last season. He only had eight receptions in 2024 after he was suspended five games and then worked his way into the rotation. He had 823 receiving yards in 2022 for Jacksonville. He is 6-foot-2 and posted a 4.45-second 40 when he come out of college. Advertisement Simi Fehoko: Fehoko is the one receiver the Cardinals added new to the room since free agency began. He is 6-foot-4 and 218 pounds and ran the 40 in 4.44 seconds. He adds length and speed. The Cardinals guaranteed almost all his salary and paid him $250,000 to sign. He had only six catches for 106 yards last season for the L.A. Chargers but played 244 offensive snaps, his first extended playing time on offense in his career. Xavier Weaver: Weaver made the team as an undrafted rookie last year. He is 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds, and his pro day 40 time was 4.42 seconds. The team seems to like him and he got a little playing time late last season. ESPN makes bold prediction about Kyler Murray in 2025
The 2025 NFL season begins in a few months and that means there will be some predictions made. Ben Solak made a bold prediction for 2025 that involved Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray. Cardinals QB Kyler Murray has 82 career starts without a playoff win, which feels like a lot but is only tied for 29th out of all quarterbacks since 1950. Chargers QB Justin Herbert is just behind him with 79. One of the two will get their first postseason win this season. Maybe both. (OK, probably just one.) Murray has the stage set for him. While he plays in a tough NFC West, the offense was solid last season and second-year receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. should be even better than he was his rookie season. The defense, which was a problem last year, has received major upgrades. Murray through eight interceptions in the final seven games, often because he found himself in situations where he had to force a throw. Advertisement With an improved defense, Murray will get to play with more leads. This could be the year he finally gets that postseason win. Arizona Cardinals play 2 games with extra rest in 2025
Arizona Cardinals play 2 games with extra rest in 2025 A look at which games the Cardinals get extra rest for The Arizona Cardinals know their 2025 regular-season schedule. Cards Wire has covered that a lot of ways. Here it is again. Arizona Cardinals 2025 regular-season schedule The Cardinals and rest in the schedule We detailed how the Cardinals will not face a single opponent coming off a bye week. Only the Atlanta Falcons in Week 16 will be coming off a long weekend after playing on Thursday night. The Cardinals, though, do get two games with a real rest advantage. They play the Seattle Seahawks at home in Week 4 on Thursday night. After that, they will face the Tennessee Titans at home with extra rest, getting the mini-bye. Then, in Week 9, the Cardinals will face the Dallas Cowboys on the road coming off their Week 8 bye. They will be the more rested team in that game, although it means they will have a slightly shorter week of preparation. NFL owners approve small changes to kickoffs, including onside kicks
NFL owners approve small changes to kickoffs, including onside kicks A look at the small tweaks NFL owners approved to the kickoff rules implemented last year. NFL owners have approved more changes to the kickoff rule. After changing the yard line where a team starts its drive on a touchback, some other changes were approved. Owners approved allowing onside kicks at any point in a game rather than just in the fourth quarter, although a team must be trailing to be able to do so. There are small changes to formations and alignments, and a receiving team now may have as many as three players in the setup zone to receive the kick. So, in summary: In 2025, for kicks that land past the goalline into the end zone for a touchback, teams will take over at the 35-yard line instead of the 30. A trailing team may attempt an onside kick at any point in a game. Receiving teams can have as many as three players in the setup zone instead of a max of two. NFC West projected to have very contested 2025
It is still May, but with the release of the 2025 schedule, it is the time to start making projections for how many wins teams will have. Using one million simulations of the season based on roster projections from this month, Cynthia Frelund shares the win projections for every team for What does that look like for the NFC West? NFC West 2025 win projections Analysis The 49ers benefit from being a talented roster facing a last-place schedule. Advertisement The Rams have a tough two-game stretch in weeks 15 and 16. The Seahawks' schedule makes a 5-2 start the most probable, based on simulations. The Cardinals have the highest probability of starting the season 2-0. It is interesting that the Cardinals, after leading the division last season after 10 games and making major defensive improvements on the defensive side of the ball in the offseason, they are still projected to have the fewest wins in the division.
