Corrie star Vicky Myers reveals 'really happy' future for Carla and Lisa

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Carla Connor (Alison King) and Lisa Swain's (Vicky Myers) romance has taken Coronation Street fans by storm, garnering a cult following across the globe. 'It's brilliant, isn't it?' Vicky Myers enthused to me when I caught up with her at the British Soap Awards. 'And it's testament to [the fans] that they've invested in us and they've obviously seen something in us that they can relate to, that they feel.' In their relatively short relationship, Carla and Lisa have faced plenty of challenges, have already 'u-hauled' and have one botched proposal under their belts. From kidnappings to kidney failure, murder to shootings, they've been through more in the past few months than anyone would hope to experience in a lifetime. However, Vicky assured me that there are some 'really happy' times ahead, among some more struggles. 'There is a lot coming, but there's also periods of time that they're really happy, and there's periods of time when it's not going so well, but that's indicative of any relationship, isn't it? And any family life. And living together in the small flat… Let's see how they navigate all of that!' That family life is something we reflected on closely during our chat. 'It is refreshing,' Vicky said, of seeing a family with two mums on-screen. 'And I think all the feelings that are involved in it and navigating that, and then coupled with the grief that Lisa and Betsy are feeling, and Carla understanding that. More Trending 'It's a completely different relationship that Carla has had. I don't want to speak on behalf of Ali but we do talk about it. And long may it continue!' And of course, we couldn't leave out that recent suggestion of an Ibiza wedding, which Vicky is very keen for! View More » 'Wouldn't that be great? Everyone pack your bags and let's get to Ibiza!' Katie McCabe sends warning to Ireland teammates despite win over Turkey

Katie McCabe believes Ireland need a "massive improvement" despite coming back to win against Turkey on Friday. The newly-crowned Champions League winner with Arsenal lamented the slow nature of Ireland's play, particularly in the first half. Speaking to RTÉ Sport, McCabe said: "We got the result and that's what matters in the end but from a performance point of view we have to be miles better going into Tuesday. "We didn't move the ball quick enough, we didn't move Turkey quick enough. We allowed them into the game with some sloppy mistakes. "It gave them that sniff to go forward. We need a massive improvement if we are going to beat Slovenia on Tuesday. "It's a tough ask. They have played brilliant for the whole Nations League campaign. I've got belief in us. We can score goals from different phases of play. "We can't rush it. We have to be patient. We need to be at our absolute best." A potential reason McCabe gave for Ireland's slow starts in games is the fact that the squad may be still getting used to new boss Carla Ward's tactics. She explained: "This is our fifth game under Carla, it's not going to be perfect. From a standards point of view, we have to implement that [gameplan] a little quicker and come out of the traps faster. "If we want to be pushing for [League] A in the Nations League, we can't be conceding goals like that, we gave them too much space. We need to take more care with the ball." Despite the celebrations she surely held after winning the Champions League with Arsenal, she was involved from the off, saying that she was fit to play for the duration of both games. ""I feel really good. It was a massive result for the club last week and we were ecstatic with becoming champions. I enjoyed the full celebrations, but it was full focus on these two games. "I said to Carla when I came in I was ready to play and give it all for the team." Ireland's next game is against Slovenia in Páirc Uí Chaoimh at 6pm next Tuesday.

Coronation Street's Lisa Swain actor drops huge hint over Swarla wedding

Coronation Street fans are desperate for Lisa Swain and Carla Connor to tie the knot - and actress Vicky Myers addressed the possibility during an interview on This Morning It's the question on every Coronation Street fan's mind - are Carla Connor and DS Lisa Swain ever going to tie the knot? The couple have fast become the soaps most loved pairing, with Vicky Myers and Alison King awarded a nomination for Best On-Screen Partnership during this year's British Soap Awards. This week, This Morning 's Sharon Marshall has been touring soap sets across the country, and today she stopped off in Weatherfield to chat to Vicky Myers and Calum Lil, who played Joel Deering until his character's death earlier this year. ‌ Giving the fans what they want, Sharon was quick to ask Vicky whether a Swarla wedding would be on the cards anytime soon. In recent episodes, Lisa proposed to Carla after a difficult day in Weatherfield following news of PC Craig Tinker's death at the hands of villain Mick Michaelis. ‌ While grieving the death of Craig at home, told Carla: "Why do we put off things we really want cos we think there's more time?" Telling Carla there wasn't always more time, she shared how both Craig and her former wife Becky would have had no idea that their time would run out. Lisa then asked Carla to marry her, and although Carla didn't say yes, she didn't say no either. She told Lisa it will happen one day (in Ibizia), just not yet. The couple made their relationship official around Christmas time meaning they've only been together around six months. ‌ Desperate to know what's next for the couple, soap expert Sharon Marshall asked Vicky: "There was a proposal. She didn't say no, but she didn't exactly say yes. Is there a wedding coming up?" Vicky, who didn't shut down the possibility responded: "It's definitely love. For Lisa definitely, Carla's her soulmate. I think it would be very nice if we all packed our bags and went to Ibiza what do you think?" ‌ Of course, Sharon was down for the trip, as was Calum Lill, however, it may prove quite difficult seeing as his character Joel Deering is long gone. Following his exit, Calum is up for Best Villain during the British Soap Awards, as he goes up against Navin Chowdhry (Nish Panesar, EastEnders), Ned Porteous (Joe Tate, Emmerdale) and Tyler Conti (Abe Fielding, Hollyoaks).

'I pulled my toddler from boring nursery for a holiday - she won't ever go back'

Carla Bellucci has decided that her kids will receive an education while travelling the world rather than in a nursery or school. The mum-of-four is convinced they will learn more that way A mum -of-four has taken her kids out of school and enrolled them in the 'school of life'. Carla Bellucci has revealed the decision to teach her youngest by travelling across the globe rather than sending her to school. The 43-year-old pulled her toddler, Blu, two, out of nursery to go on holiday – with eight trips planned this year. ‌ As part of the tot's alternative learning, Carla gets her to count the number of cocktails she consumes in one day. While raised eyebrows have been directed at the mum from some quarters, she is unbothered. In fact, she's vowed to 'never let [the] two-year-old step foot in one'. ‌ 'I think school is the biggest waste of time,' Carla, from Hertfordshire, told What's The Jam . 'Blu has learned more with me while on holiday than she would've done stuck in the crap education system for years. To me, it's a no-brainer. ‌ 'I feel like we're giving her the best educational experience ever – a new country each month. This is the way forward; I couldn't care less about school curriculums. Learning about different cultures while by the pool is far better than a maths or English lesson.' Carla, who is currently in Tunisia, says families who go away outside of term-time are 'utter muppets'. It is often far more expensive to take holidays during school holiday dates due to the surge in demand. Parents with kids in mainstream schools face being fined by their local authority if they take their children away during term-time. She said: 'I laugh at all these parents that respect the rules and education system. The amount of mums who have told me they're paying over a grand per person for a week in bloody Antalya is a joke. What are their kids really going to miss out on? ‌ 'Let your kids see the world over a dated textbook. It makes no sense to me.' Carla has also been to Egypt so far, with Marrakech, Spain and Paris next on the list. In August, she'll be going to America, where she hopes to settle down for a while – but not without taking Blu on more trips abroad, too. She added: 'People just say I'm going to get fined, but I don't care. I do what I want. I never listen, I trust my own instincts. And it's not failed me yet. Blu has swam with dolphins, explored remote islands. She's also been horse riding, another beautiful experience learning about different cultures. 'I loved watching her do body boarding and taking part in crafts and cooking lessons. At the start of term, we're taking her to Cuba for three weeks. I'd love someone to tell me what their kids have done this week – read another book? How boring.'
