Now, Carter-Williams is taking up a new sport: boxing. After being selected No. 11 overall by the Sixers in the 2013 draft, Carter-Williams won Rookie of the Year in 2014 and played nine seasons in the league before stepping away. He made his boxing debut in a heavyweight match at Broad Street Brawl in New York. He won the match by decision so it's a good start for MCW. It's a shame that Carter-Williams had his basketball career cut short as injuries took over, but he can take solace in the fact that has found a new path in life. This is a good start to a new career in sports and he can take big steps forward in boxing.

The fight was part of a fundraiser for Bigvision Community, a non-profit organization that helps young adults recover from substance abuse. 'I think it's just to scratch that itch,' Carter-Williams said. 'I've been competing my whole life, and that's something I want to do. I want to continue to compete. I respect the sport. However, he missed time to begin the 2014-15 season due to offseason shoulder surgery and he got off to a slow start. He was then traded to the Milwaukee Bucks at the deadline in 3-team deal that netted a 2018 draft pick. Carter-Williams would go on to play nine years in the league. He played for the Sixers, Bucks, Chicago Bulls, Charlotte Hornets, Houston Rockets, and Orlando Magic. He averaged 10.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists across his nine seasons playing in the league.
