Trailer For The TOM & JERRY Anime Series TOM AND JERRY GOKKO — GeekTyrant

Tom and Jerry have been through a lot in their 80+ years with exploding kitchens, destroyed pianos, the occasional truce, but now they're heading into new territory… anime. Warner Bros. has dropped the trailer for Tom and Jerry Gokko , an all-new Japanese-produced series that reimagines the classic cat-and-mouse duo through a softer, slice-of-life lens, and it's coming to English-speaking audiences. The series originally aired exclusively in Japan on Cartoon Network Japan starting in November 2022, and just wrapped its latest episode in May 2025. While no firm release date for the English version was announced, Tom and Jerry Gokko will be streaming for free on the WB Kids YouTube channel sometime 'soon.' The show is co-produced by Warner Bros. Japan and draws some of its visual inspiration from the Tom and Jerry: Seven Colors manga. This isn't your typical high-energy, slapstick-fueled rivalry. In Tom and Jerry Gokko , Tom and Jerry are more like playful frenemies than bitter enemies. Sure, the trailer shows them messing with each other here and there, but the tone is gentler, more kid-friendly, and less chaotic than the vintage shorts or even some of the modern adaptations. It's clearly aimed at a younger demographic, with pastel colors, cute designs, and calmer pacing, far from the anvil-dropping chaos we grew up with. It's a strategy that makes sense in the current streaming era where younger audiences live on platforms like YouTube. Plus, with anime continuing to dominate global pop culture, fusing the Tom and Jerry brand with that visual language is a smart move by Warner Bros. Yeah, longtime fans might miss the classic cartoon carnage, but Gokko isn't trying to replace the original mayhem, it's just a new angle on two characters that have been around longer than most of us. We'll just have to wait and see whether it lands with nostalgic fans or clicks with preschoolers.

The CIA Created a Fake STAR WARS Fan Site As Cover for a Spy Network in the 2000s

Spies and spy networks are no strangers to the Star Wars galaxy. Andor was all about that, and we've had references to 'rebel spies' as far back as the original trilogy. But did you know that Star Wars was used as a cover for actual real-world spies by the CIA? We learned via 404 Media that security researcher Ciro Santilli discovered that, back in the mid-to-late-2000s, the CIA created a fake Star Wars fan site. A Star Wars site they secretly used to communicate with informants in other countries. The name of this particular site was If you click on that link now, it takes you directly to the official CIA website. So we'd say his research was accurate. Of course, the site is long gone, but screenshots exist of it. And it is very much a time capsule of that era of the internet. The agents who designed it sure did their Star Wars homework. The screenshot shows a little boy in Jedi robes, with links to several Star Wars websites. Interestingly, many of those sites still exist today. There are some images of animated Clone Wars-era Yoda, which means the CIA was using this fake Star Wars site at least until 2010, not long after the show debuted on Cartoon Network. Here's where things get dark, however. Aside from this one Star Wars site, there were other pop culture and gaming websites used by the CIA in this manner. Eventually, Iranian authorities discovered these sites, and we now know of their link to the killing of several CIA sources in China, circa 2010-2012. Which is about the time that went away. Luckily, thanks to sites like the Wayback Machine, we have evidence of its existence. In Return of the Jedi, Mon Mothma sadly says 'Many Bothans died to bring us this information,' in a reference to her spy network. In reality, it seems many actual spies died using Star Wars as a cover. It's a truly tragic example of 'Art imitates life, life imitates art.'

The Amazing World of Gumball Season 7: First teaser, release window, streaming platform, and what to expect

The Amazing World of Gumball is officially returning with a brand-new season, seven years after its original run ended in 2019. While two special episodes aired in 2021, this is the first full season since then. And yes, it looks just as wild (and wonderfully weird) as ever. New teaser brings Gumball back in a big way On May 19, Cartoon Network International dropped a teaser for the new season, now titled The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball, and it is enough to send the fans of the BAFTA Children's, International Emmy, and Annie multi-award-winning series into a nostalgic trip. The teaser opens in Gumball's familiar old neighborhood, but it looks abandoned, muddy, and drained of color. A strange alarm blares as Gumball, dressed in rags, wakes up and stumbles out. He finds Darwin, who tells him, 'We're seven years late for school," a fun nod to how long the show's been gone. As they get moving, the color slowly returns to the world, and the usual chaos begins, proving nothing's really changed, and if anything, things might've gotten wonderfully weirder. The Amazing World of Gumball Season 7: Release window revealed While there's no exact date yet, Warner Bros. Discovery executive Sean Henry recently confirmed that the new episodes will premiere later this year. The teaser shared by Cartoon Network's official channel also confirms it's coming in 2025. The Amazing World of Gumball Season 7: Where to watch? You'll be able to stream the new season on Hulu and Disney+ in the U.S., while international viewers can catch it on Cartoon Network International and HBO Max (outside the U.S.). What's in store for Gumball and friends? Season 7 will pick up where things left off, with Gumball's nemesis Rob returning and more of the mysterious 'Void' being explored. The first episode, titled The Burger, will follow Gumball and Darwin as they attempt to eat healthy, which—predictably—won't go as planned. Is the Gumball movie still happening? A movie was announced alongside the new season but was rumored to be cancelled. However, series creator Ben Bocquelet recently confirmed it's still happening. He shared that the original story is being reworked and that he's actively developing a new version of the film. No release window has been shared yet, but the good news is it hasn't been scrapped.
