G-Shock's Unbeatably Affordable Watch Just Became as Pristine as Possible

A powerhouse of approachability, this entry in the 5600 Series might be the Casio sub-brand's most minimalist offering ever. Every product is carefully selected by our editors. If you buy from a link, we may earn a commission. Learn more Despite costing under $100, G-Shock's long-running 5600 Series is among the Casio sub-brand's best offerings. One of its big strengths is its expansive catalog of colorway options, ranging from mild to wild (like the recent Sith-like black-and-red drop). However, the latest version, the G-Shock DW5600WW-7, is unique in that its colorway makes it perhaps the most minimalist in the entire lineup. What sets this particular G-Shock apart is its complete and utter lack of color. This is about as pale as any of the brand's watches have ever been. Over the course of the 5600 Series' history, there have been other white versions (including this currently available one). Still, they usually have a pop of color or stylistic flourish somewhere. By comparison, this one is almost entirely devoid of even a speck of contrast, if not for its silver pushers, buckle and gray dial lettering. Of course, it still has the watch's signature display with its gray background and black digits, letters and icons. Still, G-Shock's simply don't get more minimalist than this one. Of course, importantly, it is still a G-Shock — meaning it boasts at least the brand's signature baseline capabilities. If you're wondering if this watch's absurdly low price means it compromises its abilities, don't. It still has the G-Shock name, and the brand stands by its offerings. Like its siblings, this watch has a durable resin case (with a bio-based resin bezel) and an integrated rubber strap. It also boasts the brand's signature shock-proof housing, which can take a serious beating and keep right on ticking. It also has mineral glass, a Super Illuminator LED backlight (with Afterglow), simple pusher operation of its onboard features and more. Oh yeah, those onboard features include a multi-functional stopwatch, a timer, a full-auto calendar, multiple alarms and more — you know, G-Shock stuff. It ain't fancy, but it gets the job done again and again and again … The G-Shock DW5600WW-7 digital watch is now available on the brand's site for $99. $99 at G-Shock

G-SHOCK Unveils Samurai-Inspired MRGB2000 'Kurogane-Iro' Timepieces

Summary G-SHOCKexpands its premiumMR-Glineup with the release of two new models: the MRGB2000BG-3A and MRGB2000RG-3A. Following the'Juryoku-Maru: San'limited edition, these timepieces draw inspiration fromkurogane-iro— a deep blue-green hue reminiscent of heated iron used in samurai armor. This striking color is achieved through a deep-layer hardening process and green diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating applied to titanium components, resulting in a finish that's both bold and refined. Crafted with precision and rooted in Japanese tradition, both models feature dials framed by fan-like contours and sword-inspired indexes produced using Casio's nano-processing technology. The MRGB2000RG-3A stands out with a recrystallized titanium bezel that echoes the crystalline patterns of Japanese sword blades. Gold ion-plated accents, Sallaz polishing and a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating elevate the watches' luxurious appeal while ensuring durability and clarity. Functionality meets artistry with advanced features including Bluetooth® smartphone connectivity, radio-controlled timekeeping, solar-powered movement, and water resistance up to 200 meters. A gold-plated retainer plate within the MR-G module enhances electrical performance, underscoring the brand's commitment to precision engineering. The MRGB2000BG-3A features a full titanium band treated with the same DLC coating, while the MRGB2000RG-3A opts for a flexible fluoro-rubber strap embossed with a tortoiseshell pattern symbolizing strength and protection. Both 'Kurogane-Iro' MR-G watches are priced at $3,300 USD and are avaiable to shop throughG-SHOCK.

Forget Apple and Garmin — this hard-wearing, good-looking Casio G-Shock Move has crashed to $214 for Prime Day

Prime Day is one of the best times of the year to scoop up a great smartwatch deal. But before you pull the trigger on an Apple or Garmin, check out this reduction on the grandaddy of digital timepieces. Right now, Casio's G-Shock Move DW-H5600 is on sale for $214 at Amazon — saving you a handy 28% off this smart(ish), rugged watch. The G-Shock Move looks like a classic 1980s Casio watch with a touch of modern flair. Sure, it tells the time, but it also monitors your heart rate and blood oxygen saturation levels; tracks basic workouts and physical activities; keeps tabs on sleep quality; and charges via the big ball of fire in the sky. Plus, 200 meters of water resistance is best-in-class. Here's the thing about Casio G-Shock watches: they'll take whatever you can throw at them. No need to worry about dings and scratches and, even if you do knock them around a bit — it all adds to the charm. I've worn a G-Shock GW7900B-1 for years at this point (the GW8900A-1 is a close cousin and is currently reduced by 7% at Amazon) and it's been a reliable accessory on a number of adventures. But since it's 2025, we need brains as well as brawn. Which is why the G-Shock Move DW-H5600 is worth a look for anyone that's interested in tracking their fitness but doesn't want another device to charge every night. The watch tracks your activity through a pulse oximeter and heart sensor and uses algorithms developed by fitness watch brand Polar. The resulting data is fed through to Casio's companion app on either iOS or Android. It's not a perfect system; there's no swimming option even though this watch is rated waterproof to 200M. Go figure. You also won't find a touchscreen here — instead, you've got to operate the watch like the good old days: with buttons. Try showing that to anyone born after 2010 and see what happens. Okay, so it's not going to appeal to everyone but for G-Shock fans like me, this is a Prime Day deal not to be missed. And, if you need a little bit more convincing, find out what happened when my colleague Dan put this watch to the test against an Apple Watch over 5,000 steps. And remember to check out the rolling Tom's Guide Prime Day live blog for the latest deals as they happen!
