But increasingly, we are seeing more and more people buying them through online pharmacies, without sufficient checks. Not only this, but recently, figures from the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency revealed that Advertisement Everything you need to know about fat jabs Weight loss jabs are all the rage as studies and patient stories reveal they help people shed flab at almost unbelievable rates, as well as appearing to reduce the risk of serious diseases. Wegovy – a modified version of type 2 diabetes drug Ozempic – and Mounjaro are the leading weight loss injections used in the UK. Wegovy, real name semaglutide, has been used on the NHS for years while Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a newer and more powerful addition to the market. Mounjaro accounts for most private prescriptions for weight loss and is set to join Wegovy as an NHS staple this year. How do they work? The jabs work by suppressing your appetite, making you eat less so your body burns fat for energy instead and you lose weight. They do this my mimicking a hormone called GLP-1, which signals to the brain when the stomach is full, so the drugs are officially called GLP-1 receptor agonists. They slow down digestion and increase insulin production, lowering blood sugar, which is why they were first developed to treat type 2 diabetes in which patients' sugar levels are too high. Can I get them? NHS prescriptions of weight loss drugs, mainly Wegovy and an older version called Saxenda (chemical name liraglutide), are controlled through specialist weight loss clinics. Typically a patient will have to have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher, classifying them as medically obese, and also have a weight-related health condition such as high blood pressure. GPs generally do not prescribe the drugs for weight loss. Private prescribers offer the jabs, most commonly Mounjaro, to anyone who is obese (BMI of 30+) or overweight (BMI 25-30) with a weight-related health risk. Private pharmacies have been rapped for handing them out too easily and video calls or face-to-face appointments are now mandatory to check a patient is being truthful about their size and health. Are there any risks? Yes – side effects are common but most are relatively mild. Around half of people taking the drug experience gut issues, including sickness, bloating, acid reflux, constipation and diarrhoea. Dr Sarah Jarvis, GP and clinical consultant at said: 'One of the more uncommon side effects is severe acute pancreatitis, which is extremely painful and happens to one in 500 people.' Other uncommon side effects include altered taste, kidney problems, allergic reactions, gallbladder problems and hypoglycemia. Evidence has so far been inconclusive about whether the injections are damaging to patients' mental health. Figures obtained by The Sun show that, up to January 2025, 85 patient deaths in the UK were suspected to be linked to the medicines.

"Some breeds are seasonal shedders, losing their coats twice a year in a big 'blow out' – think Akitas and Huskies. Others, like Labradors, shed non-stop!" Coming top of the list of doggy offenders are Labradors. These gorgeous dogs have a dense undercoat and a thicker outer coat. Most read in Fabulous This allows them to regulate their body temperature - but also means they have lots more fur to shed. In second place is German Shepherds which also have a double coat. They tend to shed their coat fully twice a year, in spring and autumn . "But there are loads of handy hacks to make cleaning quicker and easier – leaving you more quality time to spend with your pet.' Brush them OUTSIDE Clare warns: "Brushing your dog or cat regularly will seriously cut down on indoor shedding – and the trick is to do it outdoors. "Take them into the garden at least once per week to brush their coat. "Doing this inside might not seem like a big problem, but fine hairs will be dispersed in your home – then settling and creating more work to clean up later.' Fur-free forty winks Clare said: "We love our pets so much that 79 per cent of us let them sleep in our beds. "But here's the main tip: change your bedding every three to four days. Even if your dog or cat looks clean, they'll bring dirt and debris into your bed that hides in their fur or on their paws. That ends up on your sheets, pillows, and duvet cover." Stray pet hairs will cling to your bedding and fabric headboards. The expert added: "Leave it too long and it can become trapped inside your pillows, duvet, and mattress, making it even more difficult to remove later down the line." This Morning chaos as Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley suffer awkward moment on air

This Morning presenters Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley were left in hysterics as they realized they were being 'ignored' by TV chef Phil Vickery. During Monday's episode of This Morning, presenters Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley experienced an awkward moment. As they returned from the adverts, the duo attempted to pass the baton to Phil Vickery, who was ready to cook up a storm in the This Morning allotment. ‌ Ben announced: "Welcome back! So Phil is cooking up a delicious dish for the whole family and he's live from the This Morning allotment. ‌ "It looks wonderful down there Phillip- We're trying to connect to his ear, can he hear us?" However, as the camera switched to Phil prepping his dish, it became apparent that technical glitches were at play, leaving him unaware he was on live TV. Cat couldn't help but chuckle at the silent commented with a wry: "Oh dear..." To which Cat responded: "He could be just ignoring us? Should I try Phillip again?" She then called out his full name, referencing an earlier moment in the show when Phil mentioned his mother uses his full name when he's in trouble. ‌ Despite Cat's attempts and Ben's suggestion to phone him or get the cameraman's attention, it was clear the crew on location were oblivious to the studio's efforts. Ben found humour in the situation, saying: "This is quite fun actually, we could just watch them and see what they get up to!" ‌ In an amusing turn on ITV, host Ben announced plans to phone Phil and the crew, but wanted to see them on-screen again. Cat quipped: "He might do something naughty though, you know what Phil Vickery is like! He might be doing something a little bit naughty." ‌ Off-camera, someone informed Ben and Cat that they were putting through a call to Phil to alert him he was on-air. A pre-recorded segment for the latest ITV competition then played before the live feed switched back to Ben and Cat. As Cat called out: "Phillip, can you hear us?" Phil responded with a jest: "Is that my mother...?" The chef then confirmed he could hear them just fine from the studio, ready to whip up his dish of the day.
