Kristin Cavallari says she's ‘too old' to keep dating athletes: ‘Where are the hot coaches?'

Kristin Cavallari is cutting athletes from her dating roster. During Tuesday's installment of her 'Let's Be Honest' podcast, the 'Very Cavallari' alum, 38, shared she'd be open to getting to know coaches, telling guest Patti Stanger, known as the 'Millionaire Matchmaker,' she's 'too old for athletes.' 'You know what would be great is like a coach,' Cavallari told Stanger during a discussion about dating. 'I'm too old for the athletes, but coaches, where are the hot coaches? Some of them are hot.' 4 Patti Stanger (l.) and Kristin Cavallari (r.) during a July 2025 installment of the 'Let's Be Honest' podcast. Getty Images Cavallari, who was previously married to former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler, recognized their grueling schedules before adding she'd be game to take a spin on the dating app Raya again. 'I've seen a couple of coaches on Raya, actually, I will say, maybe I should start scrolling again,' she said. Cavallari's coaches conversation comes months after she revealed a past fling with former NHL forward Nate Thompson. The Uncommon James founder initially alluded to a romance with Thompson in December, teasing on the 'Dumb Blonde' podcast she was seeing a 'retired athlete.' 4 Kristin Cavallari said during a recent podcast appearance she'd be open to getting to know coaches. Brian Zak/Page Six Cavallari then shared Thompson's identity in the spring after the pair parted ways. 'I don't even care,' she said. 'I said his name on [my podcast] tour. I really think he's such a great guy. … He is someone who has done a lot of work on himself.' 4 Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler parted ways in 2020 after nearly seven years of marriage. Todd Williamson Thompson, 40, was originally drafted by the Bruins in 2003 and also played for the Islanders, Lightning, Ducks, Senators, Kings, Canadiens, Flyers and Jets throughout his career, which concluded in 2023. The former couple, whose divorce was finalized in 2022, co-parent sons Camden, 12, Jaxon, 11, and 9-year-old daughter Saylor. Cutler, a former first-round pick with the Broncos in 2006, spent 12 years in the league and is best known for his eight-season run with the Bears. He concluded his career with the Dolphins in 2017. The former quarterback came under fire this week for hunting a Sable antelope in South Africa.

Kristin Cavallari sets record straight about custody agreement with Jay Cutler

Kristin Cavallari is getting honest about her divorce from Jay Cutler. The 38-year-old 'Laguna Beach' alumna shares three kids — sons Camden, 12, and Jaxon, 11, and daughter Saylor, 9 — with the former NFL quarterback, whom she tied the knot with in 2013. Cavallari filed for divorce in April 2020, and the couple reached a custody agreement one month later. On the June 24 episode of her 'Let's Be Honest' podcast, Cavallari addressed an inconsistency from her new reality show, 'Honestly Cavallari,' where she alludes to having her kids 'full-time.' Later in the episode, she says she has them only 'every other weekend.' On her podcast, Cavallari explains that the editing was 'a little wonky' and her comment 'wasn't explained very well on the show.' 'So let me just clear this up. I did have my kids full-time for a while and now I have them except for every other weekend,' she clarified. 'I'm not going to get into the reasoning or legality around it.' Her update comes nearly eight months after she made a rare comment about the custody agreement in an October episode of her podcast. Cavallari was talking about her split from ex-boyfriend Mark Estes when she revealed that she didn't know if she had the time to reenter the dating world. 'When I was dating last fall, I was still doing split custody with my ex and I had every other week off from my kids,' she explained on the podcast, per People, before revealing, 'That's changed.' Cavallari further described herself as a 'homebody' and said she doesn't 'have a lot of time for anything else.' Elsewhere in the June 24 podcast episode, Cavallari took a moment to address the haters. The mother of three was alluding to a comment she made in a confessional on her reality TV show about not wanting to talk about her marriage anymore. 'In the interview chair, I did say 'I am so sick of talking about my marriage.' I don't actually want to talk about my marriage on my new show. Let's all move on,' she explained on the podcast. She then turned her attention to the people who encourage the comments about her marriage. 'People get asked the same questions over and over and over and over. I've been divorced for over five years, and people still ask me about it,' she said on the podcast. 'I can't win, but it is also part of my story, so if periodically I do say one little thing, well — because it's part of my journey,' she argued. Cavallari also addressed the 'online people' who say she's only successful because of Cutler. 'I don't get a penny from my ex-husband. I never have through my divorce. …/ It's important for me to clear up because that's why I work so hard is because I'm supporting three children,' she explained. She goes on to praise herself for being '100% owner' of her jewelry line Uncommon James. 'People love to discredit that Uncommon James or anything in my life is only successful because of my ex-husband — because my ex-husband had money,' Cavallari continued. 'I didn't get any money in the divorce. I don't get anything for child support. I mean, never. That was never even on the table to be quite honest with you. I've never even wanted it,' she added. Cavallari says it's important for her to clear that up because she's 'really proud' of everything she has accomplished and everything she built 'with my own money.'

Why Kristin Cavallari Thinks Filming 'Very Cavallari' at the Uncommon James Office 'Attracted the Wrong Type of Employee' (Exclusive)

Kristin Cavallari reflected on her past reality shows in a new episode of PEOPLE's Reality Rewatch on June 24 Thinking back on letting cameras film Very Cavallari inside the Uncommon James office, Cavallari says she got a lot of positive feedback from other founders She notes that she also was seen in some "not-glamourous" moments with her employees after watching a scene arguing with the company's former social media manager in season 1Being a woman in power isn't always easy. Kristin Cavallari revisited the ups and downs of her TV career for PEOPLE's latest episode of Reality Rewatch. After watching one of the more explosive scenes of Very Cavallari, in which she screams at an Uncommon James employee, the founder reflects on what she felt in that moment. 'I wish as a boss I didn't lose my s--- like that,' Cavallari explains. 'However, that was the final straw after a million different things. And that was a huge launch day, a huge moment.' The incident in the season 1 clip showed the reality star's frustration when she learned the Uncommon James social media director Shannon Ford — who was rolling her eyes and dismissing Cavallari — did not add links for people to shop the products featured in photos. This tension continued to build and ultimately led to Ford's memorable firing in the season 2 premiere. 'I never regret showing any of those startup moments on Very Cavallari because I, actually during that phase, had a lot of entrepreneurs, founders, CEOs coming up to me and saying they really appreciated that I put those real raw, not-glamorous moments on TV,' Cavallari shares. 'Because it's what every founder goes through. The challenging part for me during that time was, filming a show about my company really attracted the wrong type of employee.' 'I'm very thankful for the show, because it catapulted Uncommon James to the next level, but I'm really happy now that I do not have cameras in the office,' she adds. 'Because I have the most incredible team who does not care about being on camera. It's a very different type of person.' Ford has previously addressed the feud, which worsened when she posted a video of what she claimed was an accidental run-in with Cavallari's ex-husband Jay Cutler shortly after their divorce. In a 2021 episode of the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, she insisted that she she wasn't bad at her job, but now she better understands Cavallari's frustration. "I knew I was good at it, but it was like college all over for me, where like every report card I've ever seen since fourth grade is like, 'she has so much potential but she just won't apply herself,'" Ford noted at the time, admitting that she'd often party with her friends and forget to post things for work when she was supposed to. She also acknowledged that she 'made a lot of excuses.' Very Cavallari came to an end in 2020, after three seasons when Cavallari and Cutler, who share three children together, split. Although the Let's Be Honest podcast host has since said she would never return to reality TV, she currently has a limited documentary series airing on E! called Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour, which follows her at her live podcast shows. Kristin Cavallari speaks out on divorce from Jay Cutler and financial independence

Kristin Cavallari opened up about her divorce with former husband Jay Cutler and dispelled financial misconceptions regarding her company in the June 18 installment of Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour. The reality TV star, 38, revealed that contrary to public perception, her former husband did not finance her brand, Uncommon James. "Our revenue is around $50 million annually," said Cavallari, "but since I was clearly a WAG — athletes' wives and girlfriends, if you don't know — everyone likes to declare that all that I do in my life is a result of my ex-husband, and that my ex-husband financed Uncommon James." She stressed that she is still the only owner of the company and has never taken outside funding. "I never received a penny from my ex-husband," she said. "I didn't receive any money from our divorce, so let's just set that straight." Cavallari also commented on the wider societal pressures placed on women, particularly those dating athletes. "In society, you have to have a man," she observed. "Then in the WAG world, you need a man, but you're just arm candy and basically, you don't have an identity." She noted that football fans tend to shorthand her identity as being a part of Cutler. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Buy Brass Idols - Handmade Brass Statues for Home & Gifting Luxeartisanship Buy Now Undo "I'm like, what? Okay. I was on TV," she said. She added that she is tired of public discussion surrounding her past relationship. 'Honestly, I'm just so sick of talking about my marriage. Men can be praised for staying single and busting their ass in their career. Women deserve the same thing.' Over a chat with her pal, celebrity colorist Justin Anderson, Cavallari looked back at her marriage and her new way of dating. She called dating "really f—— hard" post her 2020 breakup and explained she no longer prefers "toxic" people. When Anderson noted that she has tended to get "really unhealthy guys," he probed if she'd ever had a different experience.

Kristin Cavallari spills behind-the-scenes moments of Laguna Beach Reunion

Kristin Cavallari revealed details about her reunion with her Laguna Beach co-stars on the June 17 episode of her Let's Be Honest podcast. She reunited with them in Chicago as part of her live podcast tour and captured it on camera for her E! docuseries, Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour. During the tour, Cavallari received several graduates from the popular MTV show, such as Lala Olsen, Jason Wahler, Alex Murrel, Talan Torriero, and Jess Revans. As reported by Cavallari, the reunion on stage was not so smooth. "Being onstage with Laguna, it did feel crazy," she said. "This is my first live podcast tour. I've never done this before, so I'm very tough on myself. Anyway, I thought I was like really more sensitive than I realized." During the event, Cavallari exchanged light-hearted remarks with Torriero, whom she previously dated. She commented on his longer hairstyle, joking that it made him look like 'a bad boy.' In response, Torriero said, 'I'm slowly turning into a Montana boy,' referencing Cavallari's ex, Montana Boyz TikTok member Mark Estes. He added, 'By the way, I'm out of beer.' The moment, which was recorded on Honestly Cavallari, was when Cavallari responded to the comment. In an interview about it on her podcast, she mentioned that her reactions looked more intense on the show than they actually were. "So, absolutely, that is my real reaction after getting off stage," she said. "My reactions to Talon while on stage were definitely hyped. I mean, you'll hear it on the podcast episode. You know, him going off about the Montana boys — I wasn't like, 'Oh my god.' Like, I think I might've actually laughed."
