Celebrity Bake Off set to welcome familiar BBC legend as new Channel 4 judge
Channel 4's Celebrity Bake Off is reportedly set to welcome a new judge to the panel Celebrity Bake Off is reportedly lining up its newest judge for the forthcoming series, and viewers will undoubtedly recognise the familiar BBC personality instantly. The Sun has suggested that the latest addition to the judging panel is none other than Cherish Finden. The renowned Executive Pastry Chef from Singapore, who has been a regular on Bake Off: The Professionals since 2016. At the age of 57, Cherish brings a wealth of experience in the culinary world, having previously worked at The Langham, one of London's most esteemed hotels. Her television appearances aren't limited to Bake Off: The Professionals. Cherish has also graced Channel 4's Heston's Great British Food. Furthermore, she's no stranger to the BBC network, having featured on programmes such as MasterChef, Australian MasterChef, BBC2's An Extra Slice, and Junior Bake Off, according to Birmingham Live. Channel 4 has been approached for comment by Daily Record. Cherish began her culinary adventure at just 14, later enrolling in cookery school at the age of 16. She refined her skills at some of Singapore's top establishments, including the legendary Raffles Hotel and The Sheraton. Her distinguished career includes winning the 2000 Culinary Olympics, solidifying her reputation as one of the world's most respected bakers. This news follows recent reports that Nadiya Hussain, a former Great British Bake Off winner, parted ways with the BBC last month. Nadiya has since voiced her feelings of being pigeonholeed into the broadcaster's "very neat box," sharing her discontent with the network. While speaking on the We Need to Talk podcast, hosted by Paul Brunson, the 2015 Bake Off champion discussed the challenges she encountered while making the leap to television after her Bake Off success. She shared her perspective, saying: "I suppose it means that they've got me exactly where they want me and utterly unbiased. And just they've got me where they want me. Neutral. And I am not neutral." Her honesty didn't stop there. She revealed, "I have opinions, and I have things to say. They'll keep you until you're of no use to them." Reflecting on her journey, she also added: "And I think that's what happened. I think essentially I got lots of reasons why they couldn't commission the show."
