Cameron Brink's injury revelation on national TV; here's what her coach said about her return

Los Angeles Sparks forward Cameron Brink continues her recovery from a major knee injury sustained during her rookie WNBA season. She suffered a torn ACL and meniscus in her left knee on June 18, 2024, just 15 games into her rookie WNBA season. Brink, who tore both her ACL and meniscus, has resumed on-court activities like non-contact drills. Sparks head coach Lynne Roberts confirmed that while Brink is progressing, no specific timeline has been set for her return. Brink spoke publicly about her injury on an episode of 'Celebrity Wheel of Fortune' that aired June 3. There, she confirmed she tore both her ACL and her meniscus. She said both have been surgically repaired. Brink is progressing, but all activity remains non-contact. No scrimmages or live-game drills yet. Coach Roberts reiterated that it is too early to predict a return. Brink, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 draft, averaged 7.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game when she went down. She also added around two blocks and one steal per contest. Live Events Brink also has plans outside the WNBA. She signed a multi-year deal with the Lunar Owls of the Unrivaled 3x3 basketball league. She won't debut until 2026 while she continues rehab. Alongside her training, Brink is set to help with content creation for Unrivaled and lean on mentorship from her godbrother, NBA star Stephen Curry. Off the court, Brink has caught attention for her style. In late May, she appeared at a Sparks pregame event in a leopard-print outfit. Fans praised her as 'The Golden Girl' and compared her to a supermodel. She shared she feels 'great' and is thankful for the team's unfailing support. The Sparks organization and fans hope to see her back in 2025. However, good health and long-term strength remain the priority. No specific date yet. When Brink finally returns, she'll mark a full-circle moment in her rookie comeback story. The injury happened early in a game against the Connecticut Sun, ending her debut season and her hopes of playing in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Los Angeles center Cameron Brink was an absolute delight during a recent appearance on Celebrity Wheel of Fortune. Brink, who is in her sophomore season in the WNBA, showed off her game show chops during the long-time game show, and she was fantastic. She brought her megawatt smile, her wit, and her charm to the stage. The former Stanford Cardinal also revealed something that not many people know in this new clip. MORE CAMERON BRINK: Watch Cameron Brink and Kevin Durant link up for postgame snap During her awful injury in June of 2024, when she tore the ACL ligament in her left knee, she also had more extensive damage. "I was a the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut ― a casino, very lucky," she told host Pat Sajak. "Tore my ACL, tore my meniscus as well, but it's all surgically repaired now. So, I'm good. It's just going to take me a couple months to be back." While that news may seem shocking (it was previously unreported), Brink seemed to be in good spirits and even rattled off a joke when Sajak asked about being drafted at No. 2 overall. "Yep. Second. Who knows how? Oh my gosh," Brink said, chuckling. It's unclear when Brink will return to the court as she continues to rehab her knee, but she's taking it all in stride. Never change, Cameron Brink. 'Wheel of Fortune' Contestant Experiences a 'Million Dollar Heartbreaker' After This Game Mishap

Wheel of Fortune contestant Andrew Leachko was inches away from the show's coveted $1 million prize. On the May 9 episode of the long-running game show, the Cleveland, Ohio native had the chance to become the first man, and fifth contestant, to win the biggest cash prize offered on Wheel of Fortune. After facing off against fellow participants Natalya Batenman, a stay-at-home mom and Audrey Cheatham, a former officer turned high school teacher, Leachko excited fans when he landed on the Million Dollar wedge during the AARP Mystery Round. Related: Wheel of Fortune Fans Left Stunned After Contestant Blows 2 Chances at $1 Million Bonus Per Wheel of Fortune rules, when a contestant lands on the coveted wedge, they must solve the round's puzzle without landing on a bankrupt wedge. If the player is able to win the game without going bankrupt, the $100,000 bonus wheel envelope will be replaced with a $1 million one. At the end of his episode-winning run, Leachko went into the bonus round with $30,228 in his pocket. After spinning the bonus wheel, he landed on the "S" wedge and had to solve a final puzzle in the "Event" category. He was given letters R, S, T, L, N, E before selecting additional letters C, M, D and A. With the puzzle reading, '_ _ R / _ E A R L _ / _ A S _," Leachko correctly guessed the first two words as "Our yearly," but got stuck on the last word in the phrase. Related: Wheel of Fortune Contestant Sends Fans Into a Frenzy After 'Painful' Mishap Costs Her $7K "Our yearly fast? Our yearly past? Our yearly ... case?" he guessed before the 10-second timer ran out and co-hosts Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White revealed the puzzle to be "Our yearly bash." "Close!" Seacrest said before opening the prize envelope to reveal $40,000 written on the card. "And that's the envelope in my hand." The television personality then led Leachko back to the bonus wheel, where he shared that the $1 million prize envelope was just "inches away" from the wedge he landed on. Related: How Do You Become a Contestant on Wheel of Fortune? Over the course of Wheel of Fortune's history, only four players have been able to win the $1 million prize. Winners include Michelle Loewenstein (2008), Autumn Erhard (2013), Sarah Manchester (2014), and Sabrina the Teenage Witch alum Melissa Joan Hart on Celebrity Wheel of Fortune (2021). After Leacheko lost, fans reacted to the moment on social media and expressed their shock at his loss. 'OMG!!! Andrew almost land [sic] on the 1 million dollars envelope on Wheel Of Fortune!!! Now that's another 1 million dollar heartbreaker," one user wrote on YouTube, while another added, "Won't lie, since he didn't get the puzzle, I'm happy he didn't land on the million dollar card." 'One space away from what would have been a million-dollar heartbreaker,' someone else commented.
