Student registration for FYJC in Nashik div less than in '24

Nashik: The last date to enrol into first year junior colleges (FYJC) has been extended till June 5 to facilitate more number of class 11 admissions. In Nashik division, student registrations through the online Centralised Admission Process (CAP) has reached 89% of total admissions recorded last year. Education department officials said, the count is much less than they had expected. "1.13 lakh students enrolled this year in the division. To ensure that every student in the city and even in remote areas is given a chance to enrol in FYJC, the school education and sports department extended the last day of admissions till June 5," said Bhausaheb Chavan, deputy director of education for Nashik division. The total intake capacity of colleges across the division is 1.84 lakh, of which, during 2024-25, 1.22 lakh students secured admissions. Nashik division includes Nashik, Dhule, Jalgaon and Nandurbar districts. "Across the division, 62% of the intake capacity is filled so far and 89% when compared to actual admissions last academic year," said Chavan. In Nashik district, 52,948 students have registered which is 92% of 54,705 students who took admission last year. This is followed by 90% of 34,262 last year admissions in Jalgaon district, 85% of 13,227 in Nandurbar district and 78% of the 20,797 admissions recorded in Dhule last year. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like ¡Trading con IA en Chile ayuda a usuarios a obtener ganancias potenciales! Mainhubfb Más información Undo "The numbers were on the lower side on Saturday and increased substantially on Monday as the deadline neared. We are sure the registration numbers will soon surpass last year's admissions," said the official. Another senior official said educational institutes have been asked to urge students to enrol within the due period so that they benefit from it. "We have asked the institutes to raise awareness among students about enrolling themselves in the process if they want to get admissions in FYJC. Since this is the first year of CAP for the entire state, as opposed to the process being limited only to select cities until last year, people are unable to understand that the online process is the only way out for admissions. We will ensure that every student who cleared the Class X examination enrols in the process," the officer added.

Now, a fourth round in DTE's diploma admissions

MUMBAI: Students applying for diploma courses under the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) will now go through four admission rounds instead of three for the 2025-26 academic year. The change in the number of rounds under the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) will apply to diploma programmes such as engineering, architecture, hotel management, catering technology, surface coating technology and pharmacy. The limited number of rounds earlier forced students to choose expensive private or management quota options. With the introduction of the fourth round, students will have a greater chance of securing a seat through the CAP system. According to the new rules finalised on May 23, if a student is allotted a seat in their first-preference college in the first round, they must confirm admission immediately. In the second round, if a student is assigned a seat among their top three preferences, they will have to take admission, or else they will be disqualified from further rounds. Similarly, in the third round, if they get a seat from their top six preferences, they must accept it. This move is aimed at stopping high-ranking students from blocking multiple seats and ensuring quicker and more efficient seat allocation. The rule also stated that students will be allowed to revise their option forms online before each round from the second round onwards. They can remove or update their earlier choices, giving them flexibility as the admission process progresses. Another big change is the shift to a fully online admission process for seats under the institutional quota and for any remaining vacant seats, after the CAP rounds. Colleges will now be required to publish the list of eligible candidates, merit rankings, and the admission schedule on their websites. This step is expected to bring greater transparency and help students make informed choices. For vacant seats that remain after all CAP rounds are completed, preference will be given to candidates belonging to the respective category. If still unfilled, these seats will be offered based on merit, with priority to candidates from Maharashtra. The rules for cancellation and refund of admission fees have also been updated. If a student wants to cancel their admission, they must apply online. If the cancellation is done before the last date, a refund will be given after deducting ₹1,000 from the total fees. However, if the cancellation is requested after the final date, no refund will be given. The officer with the DTE said this new process will help more students to get admission to the courses and secure the benefits of various government schemes. Registration process for diploma admission is currently underway and will end on June 16.

Four rounds of CAP: Maharashtra tweaks admission process for engineering diploma

The state government has announced major changes in the application process for engineering diploma, days after the admission process commenced. From this year, there will be four rounds of the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) instead of three held until now. The idea is to ensure maximum admissions are completed through the centralised process before institute level rounds start for leftover seats. Furthermore, there are additional conditions applicable now for candidates to confirm admission. While it was always mandatory for students to confirm admission if allotted a seat in the first college of their preference, this condition is now extended up to three and six colleges for second and third rounds respectively, as per the revised process. If a candidate is allotted the seat as per his first three and six preferences in Rounds 1 and 2 respectively, such allotment shall automatically be fixed for the candidate and he/she has to accept the allotment by visiting Admission Reporting Centre (ARC) to confirm the admission. If the candidate fails to confirm the admission, then his claim on the allotted seat shall stand forfeited automatically. An official from the Directorate of Technical Education, which conducts the admissions, explained, 'In the first round of CAP, existing rules will continue which makes it mandatory for candidates to confirm admission if allotted a seat in the first college of their preference. But now, in the second round too, candidates will have to confirm admission, if allotted a seat in the first three colleges from the preference list. In the third round, the same condition will be applicable if allotted a seat among the top six colleges from the preference list.' The official said this is expected to reduce blocking of seats by candidates while they wait to secure admission in better colleges in subsequent rounds. 'This condition will ensure maximum admissions are confirmed in the third round. With one additional round of CAP, maximum students from the remaining lot too will get admission through a centralized process, which ensures transparency,' said the official. Application registration has begun for diploma admissions, which will continue until June 16 and a provisional merit list will be declared on June 18. Applicants will have three days thereafter to register grievances if any, and a final merit list will be out on June 23. Students who have passed Class 10 are eligible for admission to various engineering diploma courses.
