Parineeti Chopra's Fitness Comeback After 'Chamkila' Is Proof That Discipline Wins

Parineeti Chopra sheds 15 kilos post-Chamkila and proves that fitness is all about focus and consistency. Parineeti Chopra has always stood out—not just for her acting chops but also for her openness about personal transformations. Whether she's showcasing her craft on screen or sharing her real-life fitness journey, she never fails to keep it real. In her latest film Amar Singh Chamkila, alongside Diljit Dosanjh, Parineeti took on the challenging role of Amarjot Kaur. To embody the character authentically, she put on 15 kilos—a physical transformation that was as intense as her emotional portrayal. While her performance left audiences deeply moved, it's her post-film commitment to regaining fitness that's now turning heads. After wrapping the shoot, Parineeti set a new goal: to return to her fittest self. And she's been doing just that. A recent video on her social media shows her going all in at the gym—weights, core, cardio, the works. In the caption, she reflected on the contrasting phases of her journey. 'I spent six months last year singing in Rahman sir's studio and heading home to binge on junk food, all in an effort to gain 15 kilos for Chamkila," she wrote with a dash of humour and honesty. Now that filming is done, she's flipped the switch. 'I miss the studio, and I'm sweating it out in the gym trying to look like myself again—and not like Amarjot ji!" she added. 'It's been tough. But anything for you, Imtiaz sir! And this role." Parineeti's transformation isn't just about weight loss, it's a testament to her discipline, her dedication to her craft, and her ability to embrace both ends of the spectrum. From immersing herself in music and food to pushing through reps and routines, she's showing us that with hard work, getting back to your healthiest self is absolutely possible. view comments First Published: July 28, 2025, 10:36 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Here's How Parineeti Chopra Lost 15 Kilos, Was It The Gym Or A Martial Art?

There is no denying that Parineeti Chopra is a star – on and off the screen. Whether it is her acting skills or her fitness journey, she always manages to inspire. For her latest film Amar Singh Chamkila, co-starring Diljit Dosanjh, Parineeti gained 15 kilos for the role. While her performance as Amarjot Kaur impressed us all, what really stood out was her transformation after the film. She lost all the extra weight and reminded us how staying fit is totally doable. Before we get into the details of Parineeti's weight loss journey, let's take a quick look at how fit she is now. View this post on Instagram A post shared by @parineetichopra Earlier, Parineeti posted a video on her social media showing her intense gym routine. In the caption, she opened up about her weight gain for the role. She wrote, 'I spent 6 months last year singing in Rahman sir's studio, and going back home to eat as much junk as I possibly could to put on 15 KILOS for Chamkila!' I spent 6 months this year singing in Rahman sir's studio, & going back home to eat as much junk as I possibly could to put on 15 KILOS for Chamkila! (Coming soon on Netflix😍) Music and Food. That was my routine. Now that the film is done, the story is completely the opposite. — Parineeti Chopra (@ParineetiChopra) December 4, 2023 Talking about her workout regime, the actress added, 'Music and Food. That was my routine. Now that the film is done, the story is the opposite. I miss the studio, and work in the gym trying to look like myself again. And not like Amarjot ji! Its been hard. But anything for you Imtiaz sir! And this role.' View this post on Instagram A post shared by @parineetichopra But this is not the first time Parineeti has shed serious kilos and inspired fans. According to Times of India, she had lost 28 kilos a few years ago with a clean diet and regular workouts. As part of her fitness plan back then, she took up Kalaripayattu – a traditional Indian martial art from Kerala. One of the oldest in the world, which is not just about kicks and punches. Kalaripayattu works your entire body. There's jumping, stretching, balancing and even training with weapons. It builds strength, burns calories and improves flexibility. The moves are fast and sharp, which also help boost stamina and focus. Parineeti Chopra learned it while working on her transformation – and it clearly paid off. The best part? It is never boring. You stay active, alert and pick up a new skill while getting fit. It is a workout, but with a cultural twist.

"As a proud Kashmiri, I sincerely thank you for promoting Pahalgam once again after the heartbreaking event that none of us ever wished for. Kashmir has always been known not only for its unmatched beauty, but for the warmth and hospitality of its people - something that sets us apart and must never fade. Our tradition of welcoming guests with open hearts is part of who we are, and even in the face of sorrow, that spirit must live on. Naseeruddin Shah supports Diljit Dosanjh, slams those criticising singer's association with Hania Aamir

Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah has once again taken to social media, launching into a rant and making religious remarks against those criticising Diljit Dosanjh's collaboration with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in the film 'Sardaar Ji 3'. Taking to his Facebook handle, Shah penned a note supporting Diljit. He stated that Diljit was not the one responsible for casting Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in the movie. Shah shared, 'I STAND FIRMLY WITH DILJIT. The dirty tricks deptt of Jumla Party has been awaiting a chance to attack him. They think they've got it at last. He was not responsible for the casting of the film, the director was. But no one knows who he is whereas Diljit is known the world over, and he agreed to the cast because his mind is not poisoned.' He further stated that he has a couple of close relatives and friends in Pakistan and no one can stop him from meeting them. 'What these goons want is to put an end to personal interaction between the people of India and Pakistan. I have close relatives and some dear friends there and no one can stop me from meeting them or sending them love whenever i feel like it. And my response to those who will say 'Go to Pakistan' is 'GO TO KAILASA,' he concluded. The Punjabi singer and actor has been facing a lot of backlash for working with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in 'Sardaar Ji 3' amidst ongoing tension between the two neighbors following the Pahalgam attack. Prior to this, Diljit's 'Chamkila' director, Imtiaz Ali also came in his support saying he is not someone who fakes things. 'I don't know the details, but casting someone isn't the decision of the actor. I don't know how it went, but I know that uske andar desh prem bahut zyada hai (He loves his country too much). Jo log dekh paayenge unke andar ke sach ko, unko ye samajh mein aa jaayega (People who can see the truth, will understand),' the 'Tamasha' maker revealed.

Anupamaa actor Rupali Ganguly slams Diljit Dosanjh, lauds Border 2 makers' decision of replacing him from the film: ‘No room for confused loyalties'

Actor Rupali Ganguly, popularly known for her role in the TV show Anupamaa, recently commented on reports of Diljit Dosanjh being replaced in Border 2. According to reports, the actor may be dropped from the patriotic drama following backlash over sharing screen space with Pakistani actor Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3. While Diljit stated in an interview that the film was shot when Indo-Pak relations were normal, he continues to face criticism. Now, Rupali has taken to social media to slam Diljit for his 'confused loyalties'. She wrote in a post on X, 'Border was a film that evoked deep patriotism among the people of our nation. It's truly disheartening and frustrating to see an actor in #Border2 who fails to recognize his responsibilities towards the country. Kudos to the makers for showing clarity and conviction by dropping that actor from the film. A film that celebrates our soldiers and national pride must reflect that spirit in every aspect. No room for confused loyalties in a film about national pride. JAI HIND.'
