Channel Seven host erupts in wild spray at radio boss live on air: 'Incredibly disrespectful'
A prominent Channel Seven presenter created a stir when she turned on a colleague during a live broadcast this week. Regular presenter and footy guru Caroline Wilson shocked The Agenda Setters panel when she slammed Craig Hutchinson, who hosts the sports show alongside Kane Cornes. Hutchinson, who is a boss at the Sports Entertainment Network, created controversy earlier this month after SEN purchased the racing station RSN. During the lively spat, Wilson took Hutchinson to task over the way he handled the takeover, which led to a very public sacking of two popular RSN presenters Daniel Harford and Michael Felgate. Wilson was upset that Hutchinson had appeared on Felgate's Racing Pulse podcast to tell listeners that the show would not be continuing. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. He confirmed that Hartford breakfast show would also be axed in his chat with Felgate. Agenda Setter panelist Nick Riewoldt opened the discussion of SEN's $3.25 million take over during The Spill segment. Wilson then weighed in with a spray aimed at Hutchinson's decision to announce the sackings live on air. 'This is no respect, disrespect I should say, to Michael Felgate or Daniel Harford for that matter,' Wilson began. 'But if you're going to remove me from the show, can you please not do it with me on-air?' Hutchinson was not amused and quickly took aim at Wilson. 'This is not something to joke about,' he said, while Wilson retorted: 'I'm not joking about it.' Hutchinson then told viewers that the story of the live on air sackings was 'incorrect' and that it 'did not happen.' He also laid down the law to his panelist, adding, 'That's incredibly disrespectful and disappointing.' 'Oh, don't. Craig, you walked into the studio, I know Michael Felgate already knew that his show would no longer be continuing,' Wilson said. 'But if you're going to do it to me, I would rather it happen behind the scenes and not on air.' Hutchinson went on to explain to viewers that a press release about the changes to RSN's programming a day before his on air appearance. He added, 'And there was a mature, two-way conversation on-air and you're making light of it, which is disappointing.' Wilson then appeared to lose patience and told her colleague: 'Oh, grow up.' Hutchinson had addressed the RSN programming changes in a chat with Felgate last week during his Racing Pulse show. 'There's nothing personal about (cancelling) either of those programs… we need to invest, over time, into the racing product, it's a racing station. 'It's a different audience to the one that we have developed over on SEN Track, very different audience, very different experience, they don't really resemble each other after midday.' Harford's breakfast show will be off air by the end of August, while Felgate's program faces the same deadline. He will be replaced by Giddy Up hosted by Gareth Hall.

Footy legend Joel Selwood takes a brave step after losing two of his AFL star brothers in twin tragedies
Former Geelong AFL star Joel Selwood will return to work in commentary this weekend after taking time off when his brother Adam's tragic death shook the footy world to its core. The AFL community was left reeling after the suicide of the former Eagles premiership star on May 17, just three months after the tragic suicide of his identical twin brother, Troy. Joel was devastated by the double tragedy, later posting a social media tribute to Adam saying alongside photos of the family and the words: 'Rest up, love you brother. Look after each other.' Joel has been on leave since the shocking incident, but will be back with the Channel Seven commentary team on Sunday for St Kilda's clash with Melbourne at Marvel Stadium. The Selwoods are widely regarded as one of the most celebrated families in the sport with brothers Joel, Adam, Troy and Scott, each enjoying distinguished footy careers. Troy played 75 games for the Brisbane Lions between 2003 and 2010, before becoming an assistant coach with Geelong. Throughout his career, the Lions tagger never took a backward step. He was courageous, showed an elite footballing intelligence and competed for every challenge that presented itself. Off the field, he was seen by many as an outstanding individual, who was compassionate, kind and loved the game. Adam made 187 appearances for the Eagles during his career and played a key role in helping the club win the 2006 AFL Grand Final. He joined the footy club in the 2002 National Draft and would enjoy a 10-year career in footy's top-flight competition, mostly playing as a tagger, before hanging up his boots in 2013. Adam had led the tributes for his twin brother Troy, at his memorial service at Geelong's GMHBA stadium earlier this year. Adam described his brother as 'full of life, full of love, full of wisdom beyond his years.' 'Having an identical twin is a both a rare privilege and wonderfully complex,' he said. 'A twin is more than a sibling. They are a constant presence, a built-in mate. 'He was my mirror, my fiercest competitor, my greatest ally and the one person who knew what I was always thinking.' After his retirement in 2013, Adam would continue to work in football taking up a role as a development coach with the West Coast. He'd later become the inaugural head of the Eagles women's footy side and was pivotal in bringing key AFLW players to the club.

'Put that in my will': Crocodile Dundee star Paul Hogan's final wish to return home to Australia revealed as he opens up about family and health at 85
Paul Hogan has spoken candidly about his health, family and legacy in a new interview, revealing the deeply personal- and unmistakably Aussie- farewell wish he's now made official in his will. The 85-year-old comedy legend, who now lives in Los Angeles, told Channel Seven's Sally Bowrey that when the time comes, he wants his ashes scattered from Sydney's iconic Harbour Bridge a place that holds deep personal meaning, given his early years spent working on it as a rigger. "I want my ashes scattered off the Harbour Bridge," he told Bowery in an interview, which aired Monday. "I put that in my will." While Hogan has travelled between LA and Sydney in recent years, his most recent trip in May sparked concern after he was spotted being wheeled through the airport by Qantas staff. But true to form, Hogan laughed off the attention with his trademark grin. "They got me in a wheelchair," he said. When asked directly about his health, Hogan didn't shy away. "Well, I have arthritis, and I have a knee, which, much to my embarrassment, I injured skateboarding… I'm an 80-plus skateboarder," he laughed. Bowrey praised his spirit, saying skateboarding as an octagenarian was no small feat. "Well, I've been a late starter all my life," Hogan replied. The Crocodile Dundee star, who penned the now-iconic script in just four weeks, reflected on his unlikely rise from blue-collar worker to global superstar. "One minute I'm a blue-collar worker on the Harbour Bridge, and next minute I'm meeting the Queen," he recalled. Born in Parramatta in 1939, Hogan first found fame in a chance appearance on the Nine Network's New Faces program, which led to a television career and a fateful partnership with the late John Cornell, his best mate and co-creator of both The Paul Hogan Show and Crocodile Dundee. At age 46, with four kids already, Hogan became an international sensation thanks to the 1986 blockbuster, winning a Golden Globe and scoring an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay. Despite the fame, Hogan says he still finds media attention overwhelming, especially when it comes to his youngest son, Chance, whom he shares with ex-wife and Croc Dundee co-star Linda Kozlowski. "I get a bit annoyed with the press I get off the rags from my 'troubled son' Chance," he said. "He's pretty clever, because he knows… there's this paparazzi guy who lives down our street, and he plays it up. But he's actually a hero." Hogan added that Chance is still working hard to build his own career. The 27-year-old is currently the lead singer of punk band Rowdy P. "As soon as he does, I'll be back here (in Australia)- unless he comes with me, then I'll be back sooner," Hogan said. Bowrey said the interview left her touched by Hogan's signature wit and warmth. "He still has that gorgeous twinkle in his eye," she revealed after the interview on Sydney's 7NEWS. "He's just the most delightful person to interview and spend time with."

Axed Today star Alex Cullen opens up about 'Lambo guy' scandal and confirms TV return with Seven, as ex-colleague Karl Stefanovic lends support
Alex Cullen has officially returned to the screen, confirming a new TV role with Channel Seven just months after a headline-making scandal cost him his job at Nine. The former Today Show sports presenter made national news earlier this year when he accepted $50,000 from billionaire Adrian Portelli, better known as "Lambo guy", to refer to him on air by his preferred nickname, "McLaren Man". The moment triggered a media firestorm and led to Cullen stepping down from his role at Nine, followed shortly by his departure from the network altogether. Now, speaking publicly for the first time since the drama unfolded, the 44-year-old told Stellar's Something To Talk About podcast the incident marked "the hardest, toughest week of my career". "Never in a million years did I expect that all to go down," he told host Sarrah Le Marquand. "That week was a whirlwind, like, is this really happening? And it absolutely was." Cullen said he and wife Bonnie did their best to shield their three young children from the fallout, but suspects they still picked up on the chaos. "They saw me on the phone, pacing, trying to survive it all," he admitted. "But you've just got to put one foot in front of the other. It's a little clichéd, but it's true. My wife was a pillar of strength." The veteran presenter also credited close friends, including Today Show co-host Karl Stefanovic, for rallying around him in the aftermath. On Friday, Stefanovic quietly showed his ongoing support by liking Cullen's Instagram post about his Stellar magazine cover. "His ability to not let it faze him is amazing," Cullen said of Stefanovic, who himself was publicly axed and later reinstated as cohost of the Today Show in 2020. "I'm thankful I (had) those five years (on Today) with him; he was supportive throughout that. We had a great chat after it all happened, and he congratulated me." Despite the warm response from friends, colleagues and even strangers on the street, Cullen admitted the scandal sent him into a spiral which he is still recovering from. "You're like, why did I do (that)? How did I get in this situation? I mean, I know how. But you just think, you idiot … Your confidence is shot. So you've got to reset yourself. I went to some dark places. "It was a silly mistake, one I should have thought through. But I can't go back and change any of it. It's there for [all] to see. But I have a chance now to rewrite the next chapter." That new chapter is already well underway, with Cullen set to start not one but two new media gigs, including a return to Channel Seven, the network where he previously worked for 16 years. "It's really exciting. It's been in the works for a little while, and it's wonderful to be going back to Seven," he said. The TV star remained tight-lipped on what the new role actually entailed, only hinting, "Seven are adding some news offerings to their daytime line-up, and I'm going to be part of that." Cullen revealed Seven were quick to reach out after his departure from Nine, offering support and a potential path forward. "After everything went down [at Nine this year], Seven were one of the first on the phone to say: 'You have our support, and if you want to come back, we're a phone call away'. I can't tell you how much that meant to me and my family." In addition to his new TV role, Cullen and his family have relocated from Sydney to Melbourne so he can co-host The Christian O'Connell Breakfast Show on radio, starting Monday. "I'm looking forward to getting back into it, just connecting with people, telling their stories," he said. "It's not very nice being the story. It's better telling the story."

Larry Emdur reveals romantic tryst with Channel Seven co-star - then issues apology to wife of 30 years: 'Sorry, Sylvie'
Larry Emdur has shocked fans after revealing a very surprising extramarital dalliance with a Channel Seven co-star. The Gold Logie winner, 60, took to Instagram on Saturday to share a photo that showed him getting up close and personal with one of his colleagues. It was all in good fun, though, as Larry was merely recreating the viral footage of billionaire tech CEO Andrew Byron who was caught canoodling with his company's HR chief Kristin Cabot at a Coldplay concert in Boston. The affable TV veteran shared a side-by-side photo that showed the viral moment next to Larry looking very comfortable with the Sunrise Cash Cow. Larry, playing the part of the HR exec with aplomb, looked chuffed to be in the company of his bovine beau, who lovingly wrapped her hooves around the presenter's chest. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Captioning the hilarious photo, Larry issued a sincere apology to his wife of 30 years writing, 'Sorry, Sylvie x.' The post was met with a flurry of laughing face emojis, with many praising the former Price Is Right host's sense of comic timing. Influencer Suzan Mutesi chimed in with: 'This killed me! Too good,' while another follower offered a similar sentiment: 'I hope Silvie will forgive you considering the increase in milk prices.' The Morning Show's news presenter Sally Bowrey also offered a sympathetic: 'She's impossible to resist,' punctuating the sentiment with a cow emoji. Andrew Byron, the head of the AI startup Astronomer, was broadcast on the big screen at Boston's Gillette Stadium with his arm around the company's HR chief Kristin Cabot during the band's gig on Tuesday night. They rapidly covered their faces, with Byron diving out of view and Cabot turning her back to the camera. But despite their efforts to avoid the limelight, their apparent awkwardness caught the attention of Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. 'Oh look at these two!' the singer said mischievously as they spun around. 'Oh what? Either they're having an affair, or they're just very shy.' It was all in good fun, though, as Larry was merely recreating the viral footage of billionaire tech CEO Andrew Byron who was caught canoodling with his company's HR chief Kristin Cabot at a Coldplay concert in Boston The camera stayed trained on the pair, while an astonished woman stood next to them and appeared to laugh uncontrollably at the uncomfortable situation. Public records suggest both Byron, 50, and Cabot, 56, are married - but that they live at different addresses to each of their spouses' registered abodes. The clip instantly went viral, racking up almost six million views on TikTok, as fans flew into a frenzy at the uncomfortable moment. Meanwhile, Larry is still very much happily married to Sylvie, with the couple celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary in December. Taking to his social media, Larry posted a gorgeous picture of the sweethearts posing together in a cosy domestic setting. He also shared a snap of the couple posing cheek to cheek on a beach. '10,957.28 of the best days of my life with this incredible human being,' Larry captioned the post. He continued: 'Happy 30th anniversary baby doll, all I need to survive is a little bit of oxygen, a little bit of water and you. Thanks for putting up with all my sh**.' Known for his humorous social media posts, Larry could not resist making a joke in the post by adding a photo of a bowl of pearls as an anniversary 'gift'. I just read that the 30th anniversary gift is a pearl, unfortunately I didn't get a chance to go shopping but I found a whole bowl of pearls on Temu for $3.89 (that's 88% off). How good!' he wrote. He signed off the post simply: 'I love you Sylvie,' and added seven love heart emojis. Sylvie also showed off her sense of humour when she replied to Larry's post writing: 'More pearls just what I need. And if you really love me feel free to throw in some emeralds and diamonds,' she wrote.
