(Photos) Barbie Hsu's Ex-Husband Wang Xiaofei Remarries In A Lavish Wedding Ceremony

While fans continue to mourn the death of Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu (徐熙媛/大S), the private life of her businessman ex-husband Wang Xiaofei (汪小菲) garners media attention. Months after Barbie's death, the public figure tied the knot with his wife, Mandy Ma (马筱梅), in a lavish wedding ceremony. According to reports, Wang Xiaofei and Mandy tied the knot last Saturday (17th May 2025) at the Junwangfu Hotel in Beijing, China. Photos of the private celebration were shared online, showing the couple looking happy in their wedding garments. Mandy wore two styles of a Western wedding dress, along with a red Cheongsam. Meanwhile, Wang Xiaofei opted for a black suit and a traditional Chinese ensemble embroidered with a dragon motif. The wedding was also significant because of the reported cost. According to news outlets, Wang Xiaofei spared no expense for the event, allegedly spending 6.66 million yuan (approximately RM3.9 million) on the dowry. While the couple's wedding favours only had four items, they included a product from the luxury brand Bvlgari. Wang Xiaofei also reportedly asked guests not to give wedding gifts and money packets, showing his generosity. Of course, the union also had its fair share of controversies. Weeks before the wedding, Mandy's ex-husband accused her of infidelity and other allegations. Private photos of the bride from years ago were also leaked onto social media. Chinese fashion designer Lan Yu also reportedly rejected a request to design Mandy's wedding dress because she was a fan of Barbie, sparking debate. The wedding also came a week after the Hsu family observed the 100th day after Barbie's death. Fans recently reached out to the late actress' mother, asking about her thoughts on Wang Xiaofei and Mandy's wedding. The 70-year-old responded, 'I hope they can love my grandchildren and the children Barbie gave birth to with her life. They're (the grandchildren) close to me, but I can't see them. What kind of world and what kind of laws are these?'. Following Barbie's death, Wang Xiaofei gained custody of his two children, whom he shared with the late star. The two married in 2011 but divorced in 2021. Barbie and Wang Xiaofei were in a legal battle for years, up until Barbie's untimely death in early February 2025. Here's a look at the wedding: Sources: China Press (1)(2)(3)(4)

Celebrate the Lunar New Year with our own Bo-Yee Poon

Our own ABC22 News This Morning and FOX44 Morning Brew co-anchor, Bo-Yee Poon, sported her festive Lunar New Year outfit on-air Wednesday morning. It was more than just a display of diversity and culture though. We were able to learn so much from Bo-Yee who says she has celebrated 'many, many, many Lunar New Years' before today. One of her favorite parts from past celebrations were the fireworks show over Hong Kong Harbor, but the memories and Lunar New Year lesson didn't stop there. Bo-Yee's outfit was comprised of floral notes and free flowing sleeves. The vibrant gown is known as a Cheongsam. This Lunar New Year is also the year of the snake, so it was only fitting that Poon brought her stuffed snake to the desk to share in the fun of the holiday. It was a real joy to hear Bo-Yee proficiently speak the Chinese language while also teaching everyone at home a few words and phrases. While Bo-Yee was discussing the Lunar New Year traditions, we dove into a story about the holiday celebrations happening in Hong Kong. They are marking the Lunar New Year with a flower market and lots of yummy snacks which Bo-Yee says is just the way her and her family celebrate each year. This Sunday, Bo-Yee will be the Emcee of a Lunar New Year celebration event in South Burlington. The festivities will be held at the Frederick H. Tuttle Middle School from 12 PM to 3:30 PM. The celebration includes a New Year luncheon and performances by students, teachers, and friends. Tickets are on a first-come, first-served basis, with no reservation.
