Police yet to rule out speed, impairment in Upper Centennial crash that killed two

Hamilton police haven't yet ruled out speed or impairment as factors in an overnight weekend crash that left two people dead. A 2014 Ford F-150 and a Chevrolet Silverado were travelling in the same direction on Upper Centennial Parkway, between Mud Street East and Green Mountain Road, when the F-150 collided with the Silverado just after midnight Sunday. Police said the Ford pickup then hit a northbound 2015 Kia Sorento head-on. The driver and passenger in the Sorento were pronounced dead at the scene, according to police, while the driver of the F-150 was taken to hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The Silverado driver wasn't injured. Police on Monday offered little details about the crash, but said the victims have been identified. The Tennessee Highway Patrol released a preliminary report following a Greyhound bus crash in Madison County on May 26 that left two dead and nearly 40 injured in the Nashville-bound trip. A Colorado man and a Tennessee man, who died in the crash, have been identified by the medical examiner in Nashville. The report reveals that the 2013 Prevost bus in route from Memphis to Nashville collided with a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado at approximately 6:20 p.m. on Highway 70 in Madison County. More: 39 people injured, 2 fatalities confirmed in Greyhound bus crash near Jackson Of the 39 individuals injured, 27 were taken for treatment via ambulance transport. The bus veered off the road before coming to rest in a ditch, while the Chevrolet caught fire and came to rest on the Highway 70 shoulder. The crash resulted in two fatalities, Sgt. Charlie Childers with the Tennessee Highway Patrol reported on May 28. Those deceased identified by the medical examiner in the report were Glen Young Jr., 60, from Colorado, who was a passenger on the Greyhound, and John Davis, 56, from Tennessee, who was in the Chevrolet. Hobbs teen killed, 6 others injured in crash in Seminole

GAINES COUNTY, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating after a teen from Hobbs, New Mexico was killed and six other people were injured late last week in a crash in Gaines County. According to a crash report, around 3:15 pm on May 30, troopers were called to the area of County Road 208 and County Road 225 after a two-vehicle collision. Investigators said a Ford Fusion, driven by a 38-year-old Man from Hobbs, was traveling eastbound on CR 208, while a Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 34-year-old man from Seminole was heading southbound on CR 225. According to DPS, the driver of the Ford Fusion disregarded a stop sign at the intersection of CR 225 and was struck by the pickup truck. As a result of the crash, both vehicles rolled. The left back passenger, a 13-year-old boy from Hobbs, was ejected from the vehicle when it rolled; he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Fusion, as well as the front seat passenger, a 36-year-old woman, along with two backseat passengers, an eight-year-old girl, and 10-year-old girl, all of Hobbs, were all taken to a Lubbock hospital with serious injuries. ECTOR COUNTY, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a crash that left a 15-year-old dead last Friday. According to a crash report, around 4:30 pm on May 30, troopers responded to the area of S Almond Avenue and W Burkett Street after a Chevrolet Silverado collided with a Can-Am Maverick X-3. Investigators said a couple from Presidio Texas were traveling north on S Almond Avenue in a pickup truck while an 18-year-old and 15-year-old from Odessa were traveling in an ATV eastbound on W Burkett Street and collided. Investigators said a 15-year-old, whose name was not released, was a passenger in the ATV, which rolled after the collision and that the teen was ejected when his seatbelt broke; he was pronounced dead at the scene. Two people are dead after an overnight three-vehicle collision on Upper Centennial Parkway between Mud Street East and Green Mountain Road. The crash happened just after midnight Sunday, according to Hamilton Police. A 2014 F-150 pick-up truck and a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up were southbound on Upper Centennial when the F-150 collided with the Silverado then hit a northbound 2015 Kia Sorento head-on. The driver and passenger in the Sorento were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the F-150 was taken to hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. The Silverado driver was not injured. The scene was closed for 10 hours as the Collision Reconstruction Unit investigated, according to police. Investigators are asking witnesses to come forward. Motorists are asked to check their dash cameras for video of the crash and residences or businesses in the area are requested to check surveillance cameras for video of the incident.
