Sundowns' talent-stacked first team squad means the Sundowns academy graduate has managed to make just four starts under Miguel Cardoso. Now, reports suggest Kaizer Chiefs are waiting in the winds to make a move for Mkhulise, who's currently deadlocked in contract talks at Chloorkop. 'Kaizer Chiefs are said to be monitoring Sphelele Mkhulise's situation at Mamelodi Sundowns as they look to add the talented midfielder to their squad ahead of the new season,' a Citizen report read. 'Mkhulise's contract with Sundowns is set to expire in June, but the 29-year-old midfielder has an option of a one-year extension in his deal, which Sundowns are yet to exercise it.' The publication further claims Mkhulise won't put pen-to-paper on an extension unless he's guaranteed more game-time at Chloorkop.
