Dianne Buswell addresses 'emotional rollercoaster' as she 'clicks' with Strictly co-star

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Dianne Buswell has opened up about an "emotional rollercoaster" she's about to present to the world alongside her Strictly co-star. The Aussie dancer, 36, has enjoyed a fair bit of success of late, having scooped the coveted Glitterball Trophy with Chris McCausland last year, before winning a BAFTA TV Award for their Waltz to You'll Never Walk Alone. Since then, the Strictly Come Dancing professional has been gearing up for a new dance project, the 'Red Hot and Ready' tour, with another familiar face from the beloved BBC competition. Set to launch next month, Dianne said she's "so excited" about the show, which has been "two years in the making." To cap things off, she's also shared insights into the dynamic she has with her co-star on the tour, Vito Coppola. (Image: BBC) Dianne told Heat magazine: "There's things in there that you'd never see us do on Strictly, I'll put it that way! It's an emotional rollercoaster. We want people to laugh and cry with us." (sic) She continued: "From day one, Vito and I just clicked. He reminded me a lot of my Italian mum's family with his personality, his mindset and the things he would say. He could literally be my crazy cousin!" Dianne added that it was a "no-brainer" for them to embark on this project together, highlighting the "camaraderie" they share. However, it isn't the only new gig for the dancer, as Dianne has also returned to Australia to work on the kids' show Bluey. Dianne is now part of the new Bluey Dancealongs on the show's YouTube channel. In her role, she choreographed and appeared in five dance videos for the series featuring young fans of the animated show. Speaking about the programme, Dianne remarked that it was "cool" to be part of it. (Image: Getty Images for BAFTA) Dianne said: "How cool that I got to go to Bluey's World in Australia to dance in Bluey's house with some incredibly talented kids dancing to some of Bluey's favourite tunes." She added that she loves Bluey's "message" to both children and adults alike, saying she "can't wait" to see people attempting the dance moves and "joining in the party". Dianne first appeared on Strictly with Reverend Richard Coles in 2017, but sadly left the competition in week three. However, she reached the final with Joe Sugg (whom she's currently dating) the following year. Her career has seen her appear on So You Think You Can Dance Australia and Dancing with the Stars Australia. According to the BBC, she's also an Australian Open Champion and has been an Amateur Australian Open finalist four times in Ballroom and Latin dancing. Her other former celebrity dance partners included DJ Dev Griffin, Max George, Robert Webb, Tyler West, and Bobby Brazier. After that, she was teamed up with Chris McCausland, the show's first-ever blind contestant.

Strictly's Dianne Buswell stuns in black swimsuit on the beach as she enjoys Christmas with Joe Sugg and her poorly dad The dancer is in a relationship with YouTuber Joe Sugg, who she met when they competed together on Strictly in 2018. In our exclusive interview last weekend, she said: 'I would like to have children, 100 per cent. 'Joe and I love kids, and that's definitely something that we would absolutely love. Strictly finalist left red-faced as she's brutally snubbed from TV BAFTA dinner – despite awards show nomination

STRICTLY Come Dancing finalist Tasha Ghouri was forced to watch from the cheap seats as her co-star won a Bafta TV award. The snubbed Love Islander missed out on a top ticket to the event, which honoured Chris McCausland with TV moment of the year. 5 Instead, model Tasha was a guest of P&O Cruises and sat with professional Strictly dancer Vito Coppola on the upper balcony. The 26-year-old cheered as the clip played of the show's first blind contestant waltzing to You'll Never Walk Alone with dance partner Dianne Buswell. Tasha had her fingers crossed as she waited with baited breath for the result to be announced - and fought back tears when Chris won the prestigious gong. She and Vito proudly yelled out in support of Strictly - who was up against tough competition from the wedding scene in Gavin and Stacey and Rivals' naked tennis. Dianne took to the stage to accept the publicly-voted P&O Crusies Memorable Moment award without Chris, who wasn't able to attend the awards do. After the ceremony, she joined a host of telly stars invited to enjoy a slap-up three-course meal, while Tasha went to a drinks reception on another floor. She met up with fellow Strictly star JB Gill who turned up to the after-party while Bafta guests dined downstairs. Tasha called it the "most gorgeous catch up" as they cheersed to Strictly's success. She said: "First TV @bafta with @pandocruises such a lovely evening celebrating talent in the TV industry, so so inspiring." Meanwhile Chris posted on X about his Bafta award: "Oh my goodness. Me and Dianne only just went and won a f***ing Bafta didn't we. "Thank you so much to everybody that voted!" Strictly Come Dancing fans break down in tears at Joe Sugg's moving reaction to Dianne Buswell's BAFTA TV Awards win

Strictly Come Dancing fans broke down in tears over Joe Sugg's moving reaction to Dianne Buswell 's BAFTA TV Awards win. Professional dancer Dianne, 36, and comedian Chris McCausland, 47, who lost his sight at the age of 22 due to genetic condition retinitis pigmentosa, took home the Most Memorable Moment prize. The pair had wowed audiences with their poignant 'blackout' waltz to You'll Never Walk Alone - choreographed to highlight Chris's visual impairment. Only Dianne was present at the awards ceremony to accept the prize and gave a speech, thanking everyone who voted for the dancing duo. At one point, the camera panned to Diane's partner, Joe Sugg, 33, who looked extremely emotional as he watched on. The YouTuber appeared to be crying while Diane accepted the award and fans were struck by his heartfelt reaction. Many took to social media and posted on X: 'Awwww did I spot a tear in Joe's eye? #BAFTAS #BAFTATVAwards.'; 'Joe Sugg is SO proud of Dianne's #BAFTATVAwards win.'; 'JOE SUGG CRYING OVER DIANNE AND CHRIS WINNING THE BAFTA,' someone else gushed, followed by several crying face emojis. Another penned: 'Love shines at the BAFTA TV Awards! Joe Sugg moved to tears as Dianne Buswell wins. A beautiful reminder of joy and support in relationships. #BAFTA #LoveWins.'; 'Joe crying for Dianne winning a #BAFTA.'; 'I've just absolutely wailed at that shot of Joe with tears in his eyes #BAFTATVAwards #BAFTAS.' Strictly earned the accolade after beating pivotal scenes from Bridgerton, Gavin & Stacey, Mr. Bates vs The Post Office, Rivals and The Traitors to the award. Joe was Dianne's Strictly Come Dancing partner back in 2018 but the pair missed out on the Glitterball after Kevin Clifton and Stacey Dooley took home the trophy instead. They initially denied any rumours of a romance between the two, but one day after the final, the YouTuber posted a photograph of the pair captioned with, 'I may not have won the glitter ball, but I've won something a million times more special.' The BAFTA win comes after a surge of controversy clouded the show. In September, comic Chris won plaudits from Strictly viewers by paying tribute to Liverpool - his home city - with a solo waltz before quietly asking Buswell: 'Did I do okay?' It was a rare moment of sunshine for the show after it pushed ahead with its 22nd series despite being hit with a wave of unsavoury allegations that began in May 2024 with fan favourite Giovanni Pernice accused of backstage bullying. Pernice quit the show and faced an internal probe that later exonerated him of any wrongdoing after former celebrity partner Amanda Abbington claimed she was left with post traumatic stress disorder as a result of his 'militant approach to training '. A source told The Sun at the time: 'Gio feels the scrutiny on him has become too much and now is the time to make a fresh start. 'He wants to focus on other TV projects, and feels he's achieved all he can on Strictly, having won the trophy back in 2021 and reaching the final an unprecedented four times. 'He remains adamant he's done nothing wrong other than being a hard taskmaster, but knows his style of training isn't to everyone's liking - especially in this day and age.' Worse would follow, with Graziano di Prima fired by BBC bosses over claims of 'physically and verbally abusive' behaviour towards celebrity dance partner Zara McDermott. Addressing his exit from the show, a 'devastated' Graziano later wrote on Instagram: 'I deeply regret the events that led to my departure from Strictly. 'My intense passion and determination to win might have affected my training regime. 'While respecting the BBC HR process, I acknowledge it's only right for the sake of the show that I step away. I am saddened that I wasn't allowed to offer a quote to the online news stories, and I take on board the sensitivity of the situation. 'There's more to this story that I am unable to discuss at this time, but I am committed to being strong for my family and friends. I wish the Strictly family nothing but success in the future.' Overlooking the controversy as she accepted the award on behalf of McCausland on Sunday evening, Buswell said: 'In one minute and 30 seconds of a dance, I feel like this told such a story. 'A story of hope, determination, resilience and vulnerability. 'This moment meant so much to the both of us, so I'm just so thrilled that we have this.' Ending with a comedic message from her former dance partner, she added: 'Chris did have something he wanted me to say, and that is 'after 22 years in comedy, he wins a Bafta for dancing''. 2025 BAFTA TV AWARD WINNERS AT A GLANCE Drama Series - Blue Lights (BBC One) Limited Drama - Mr Bates vs the Post Office (ITV1) International - Shogun (Disney+) - WINNER Scripted Comedy - Alma's Not Normal (BBC Two) Entertainment - Would I Lie To You?
