Magilton criticises 'erratic' referee display in draw
Cliftonville manager Jim Magilton criticised referee Chris Morrison's "erratic decision-making" in his side's 0-0 draw with Coleraine at Reds picked up their first point of the season in a hard-fought encounter with the Bannsiders, but Magilton was frustrated they were not awarded a late Jarvis produced a super hooked clearance from a ball that Joe Gormley looked destined to turn home at the back post, but Magilton felt the defender fouled the Reds striker."Dean Jarvis, it's a remarkable clearance but there is an initial foul, and the referee wasn't brave enough to do it [give a penalty]," Magilton told BBC Sport NI."I thought on the day his erratic decision-making flamed things a little bit. He was so inconsistent for both teams."Ryan Curran wasted Cliftonville's best chance when he failed to guide home Eric McWoods' cross, but Magilton was pleased with his side's response to last week's defeat against Bangor."We can do better with the ball, and we will, but in terms of showing determination to get a result today we did that," he added."We defended for our lives; we can do better but we had moments. We had great opportunities, but we were a little bit wasteful."
