Fan scorecard: Ideal signing? Overriding emotion?

Season rating: 8/10. Our second top 10 finish in four Premier League seasons, three players scoring 10 or more goals - only a European place could have topped with your manager? Thomas Frank is the inspiration behind Brentford's rise. A brilliant tactician and man-manager, he totally understands the club's philosophy and financial limitations. He has adapted our playing style as our Premier League life has gone on - and while other clubs may try to get him over the summer, he knows he is on to a good thing with us and will never lose his hero: Probably captain Christian Norgaard - not so much unsung by Brentford fans but by supporters of other teams, who still don't know what he can bring to a side. With us for six years, and now staying for two more, the side is poorer without him. He breaks up so many opposition attacks, but can also play a key pass and has improved his goalscoring this season. It is amazing he still doesn't have his own terrace song!Player you would most like to sign: A lot of this depends on who goes and who stays in the summer. Bryan Mbeumo, if he is sold, is irreplaceable, but we have players we can move to the right. However, if we also lose Yoane Wissa, then, while we have Igor Thiago, I would try to sign Liam Delap from Ipswich. Like Wissa, he seems like a natural finisher, is a good age and has already scored goals in the Premier now my overriding emotion from the season is: Pride that my little club, who I've largely watched at League One and League Two level, are deservedly the 10th best team in England. And pride at the way we are run, the unity between the players, as well as between them and us fans, and also the genuine care for people the club seems to you agree with Ian's answers? Brentford star Christian Norgaard confident his side 'create something magic' at the end of the season with Europa Conference League qualification still a possibility

Christian Norgaard is confident Brentford can conjure up 'something magic' at the end of the season. The Bees moved up to eighth thanks to Kevin Schade's 18th-minute goal and that might - but only might - be enough to qualify for a Europa Conference League spot come Sunday May 25. 'It's so fun to have something to play for at this stage in the season,' said captain Norgaard, the Denmark midfielder. 'There are a lot of teams who don't so it's amazing we can create these special moments and these 'finals' coming into the last part of the season - and hopefully by the end of it we have created something magic.' The dream could be all but over before then however as that eighth-place slot will disappear should Crystal Palace win the FA Cup on Saturday. Thomas Frank 's side are certainly the form side in a four-way tussle for eighth, with Brighton, Bournemouth and Sunday's opponents Fulham still in the mix. Schade's header from a corner that had to be taken three times earned a fourth straight victory, which is their best run of victories in the top flight since 1939. It was also their seventh away win in the last nine - a huge upgrade on early-season form that saw them lose seven out of eight. 'We have really found good form away specially this second part of the season, which we struggled with at the start of the season,' Norgaard added. Ipswich fans were annoyed that Schade's goal came at a time when referee Sam Barrott appeared to have lost control at a set-piece where players from both sides repeatedly wrestled each other in the box. That continued throughout the game, with VAR making lengthy checks, but already-relegated Town made a game of it late on, forcing Bees keeper Mark Flekken into a string of saves.

FOUR Premier League clubs 'in the hunt to sign £60m-rated Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo' - with the Bees also 'set to listen to offers for Yoane Wissa'

As many as four top Premier League clubs are reportedly in the race to sign Brentford striker Bryan Mbeumo, while the Bees are also ready to listen to offers for his strike partner Yoane Wissa this summer. Mbeumo has managed an impressive 18 goals and seven assists for the west London outfit in the league this season, and along with Wissa has formed a formidable partnership. This week, Brentford captain Christian Norgaard said he believes that the French-born Cameroon international 'is likely to go'. It follows recent reports that 25-year-old will be allowed to depart for a fee in the region of £60million. According to Sky Sports, there are four Premier League clubs in the hunt to sign the wide forward. The likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle and Tottenham are all tracking his situation, according to the outlet. The report also claims that Brentford will also listen to offers for Wissa, who joined the club from French side Lorient for £8.5m in 2021. The 28-year-old attracted interest from Nottingham Forest in January and was the subject of a £22m bid that was rejected by the Bees. Wissa, who has registered 18 goals and three assists in the top flight this term, has reportedly been watched by Tottenham and West Ham. This week, Norgaard admitted that he is 'unsure' about the future of the DR Congo forward but 'everyone hopes he might stay'. 'I'm pretty calm about what will happen about Bryan and Wissa,' said the Danish midfielder. 'A lot of questions are asked about them. You can almost feel the worries about the place when you talk about them maybe leaving us. 'The club has already now brought in [Igor] Thiago who hasn't played a lot but another fantastic character and he will take the league by storm at some point. I'm sure he'll be ready for whenever Wissa gets his dream move or if Bryan leaves then there will be a change in the offensive players.' Perhaps crucially, both Mbeumo and Wissa layers are out of contract next summer, and so this window could prove vital if the club are to receive healthy sums for their two brightest talents. Brentford have maintained a sustainable business model in developing players and selling them on for bigger fees, with a strong track record in recent history. Ivan Toney was sold for £40m to Al Ahli after arriving for around £10m including add-ons, Ollie Watkins' £33m move to Aston Villa banked a profit of £31m, and selling Said Benrahma to West Ham for £30m made Brentford around £27m. Combined, Mbeumo (£5.8m) and Wissa (£8.5m) cost the Bees less than £15m in transfer fees.

Bryan Mbeumo is 'likely' to LEAVE Brentford this summer, reveals club captain - putting Premier League giants on red alert

Bryan Mbeumo has drawn plenty of admirers this season after a standout campaign for Brentford, and those suitors have potentially been handed a massive boost ahead of the transfer market. The Bees star has managed an impressive 18 goals and seven assists for the west London outfit in the league this season, and along with Yoane Wissa has formed a formidable partnership. With Ivan Toney departing for the Saudi Pro League in summer 2024, he has admirably stepped up to fill the void, and has become one of the league's most lethal forwards. As such, he has earned himself plenty of admiring glances from around the Premier League, with Man United thought to be among those interested. According to a report from earlier in May, Mbeumo will cost around £60million if anyone is to prise him away from the Gtech Community Stadium this summer, though captain Christian Norgaard believes that is more likely to come about than not. 'I'm pretty calm about what will happen about Bryan and Wissa. A lot of questions are asked about them. You can almost feel the worries about the place when you talk about them maybe leaving us,' the Danish midfielder said. "I think Bryan [Mbeumo] is likely to go. I don't know about Wissa yet. Everyone still hopes he might stay." 👀 Brentford captain Christian Norgaard says he is "pretty calm" about players potentially leaving the club in the summer 🗣️ — Sky Sports Premier League (@SkySportsPL) May 6, 2025 'The club has already now brought in [Igor] Thiago who hasn't played a lot but another fantastic character and he will take the league by storm at some point. I'm sure he'll be ready for whenever Wissa gets his dream move or if Bryan leaves then there will be a change in the offensive players.' He added: 'I think Bryan [Mbeumo] is likely to go. I don't know about Wissa yet. Everyone still hopes he might stay. Either way I'm happy for the season they've had, both of them, because they deserve it so much.' While Mbeumo has been leading the way, Democratic Republic of Congo international Wissa is not far behind with 18 goals of his own and four more assists for the 2024-25 Premier League campaign. Perhaps crucially, both players are out of contract next summer, and so this window could prove vital if the club are to receive healthy sums for their two brightest talents. Brentford have maintained a sustainable business model in developing players and selling them on for bigger fees, with a strong track record in recent history. Toney was sold for £40m to Al Ahli after arriving for around £10m including add-ons, Ollie Watkins' £33m move to Aston Villa banked a profit of £31m, and selling Said Benrahma to West Ham for £30m made Brentford around £27m. Combined, Mbeumo (£5.8m) and Wissa (£8.5m) cost the Bees less than £15m in transfer fees. Should Wissa be sold for half the reported £60m Mbeumo will command, then the west London side will have made over six times their money. As such Norgaard feels the club are well placed to bounce back should they suffer a double blow. 'The club is so talented with recruiting and always being two or three steps ahead,' he continued. 'I think Brentford has been really good at keeping them for more than one season. If you look at Ollie [Watkins] he was here for quite long, Said [Benrahma] was here for at least three seasons, Ivan was here for three seasons, it's not like they have one season and then go away. 'Bryan has been here for six years, Wissa when we got promoted so four years. That's important that it's not just in and out.
