(WTNH) — Wednesday marks the third day of the murder trial for the man charged with killing his ex-girlfriend, an Ansonia mother. Christine Holloway's body was found in her home on Dec. 2, 2019, after she failed to show up at the daycare where she worked and where her 1-year-old daughter Vanessa also went each day. Vanessa has been missing since the killing. Day 2: Jury in Jose Morales trial hears about 'red stuff' and letter found in donation bin Jose Morales, 48, pleaded not guilty to the murder charge. He told police he was high on PCP as he saw men running towards the door of Holloway's Ansonia home, then he was punched in the face as he tried to call 911. On Tuesday, workers from the nonprofit Community Crusade for Children- known as Kiducation during that time- said they found a Diaper Genie and other items covered in 'red stuff' in a clothing donation bin two days after Holloway's body was found. A supervisor with Kiducation said she immediately called police when was found a letter addressed to Holloway in the bags. Day 1: Trial begins for man accused of killing Christine Holloway The jury was also shown graphic images. On Monday, they saw body camera footage of the welfare check police conducted when Holloway didn't show up to work. It was during their visit to her home they found the crime scene. Since Monday, several law enforcement officials have testified about the day and the condition of the home and Holloway's body when they found it. The trial is expected to last about a month.
