Callaway Really Made the 'Happy Gilmore' Putter
Nearly 30 years afterHappy Gilmore,Odyssey—the putter division underCallaway Golf—has re-released the film's iconic hockey stick putter, alongside a limited run of branded golf balls. The drop leads into the highly anticipated sequel, which hitsNetflixon July 25.For those who need a refresher,Adam Sandler'sHappy Gilmorewas a failed hockey player turned unconventional golf star. Known for his monster drives and spiky attitude, his real statement piece was a hockey stick putter—something of a gimmick turned signature weapon. So, is this new release actually playable? Probably not. The $500 USD price tag and novelty build suggest it's more of a collector's item than a performance upgrade, thoughCallaway's sitehas plenty of those if that's what you're after. The Chrome Tour golf balls included in the drop, priced at $60 per dozen, lean further into the nostalgia. Each sleeve features phrases like 'Just tap it in' and 'It's all in the hips,' nods to some of the film's most quotable lines. The balls are available now, while the putter launches alongside the sequel.

Odyssey releases Happy Gilmore hockey stick putter to celebrate Netflix sequel
Odyssey's limited-edition Happy Gilmore hockey stick putter and golf balls celebrate with Netflix's sequel pf tjhe classic golf comedy. For golf fans of a certain generation, Happy Gilmore wasn't just a comedy — it was a rite of passage. The story of a hockey player turned unlikely golf hero, armed with an anger problem and a slap-shot putting stroke, resonated with anyone who's ever gripped a club and dreamed big. Now, almost 30 years after Adam Sandler first stepped up to the tee in Timberland boots, Happy Gilmore 2 is set to premiere on Netflix on July 25, and Odyssey is bringing one of the movie's most memorable props back to the course in the form of a limited-edition Happy Gilmore 2 Hockey Stick putter ($499.99). This is a real-life version of the club Happy made famous on the big screen, but let's be clear, this club does not conform to the Rules of Golf and therefore is not legal for play. But who cares, it's a 44-inch long hockey stick designed by Odyssey that has a urethane face insert that looks like the tape hockey players wrap around the blade of their stick. In other words, it may look like something you'd see on an NHL bench, but it's built for fun and laughs at the course. The Happy Gilmore 2 hockey stick putter even comes with an athletic sock headcover — a nod to the original film's DIY aesthetic and the putter's makeshift roots. Along with the putter, Callaway is releasing a set of special Happy Gilmore 2-themed Chrome Tour golf balls. The balls are available now and come decorated with references every fan will recognize: Happy's Boston hockey jersey and famous lines like 'Just tap it in' and 'It's all in the hips.' The balls — which retail for $59.99 per dozen — are the same Chrome Tour model currently used by multiple Tour players and are featured in the new film. Whether you plan to break out the putter in your weekend four-ball or keep it in a display case next to your bobbleheads and Caddyshack DVDs, one thing's for sure: Shooter McGavin won't be happy about this. And that's exactly the point.

Callaway releases PGA Championship-themed Chrome Tour 'May Major' golf balls
Callaway releases PGA Championship-themed Chrome Tour 'May Major' golf balls On the eve of the PGA Championship's return to Charlotte, NC, Callaway has dropped special Chrome Tour balls that celebrate the Queen City. Show Caption Hide Caption Callaway Opus, Opus Platinum wedges The Opus wedges have a redesigned shape that was driven by feedback from tour pros and feature a new face treatment that enhances friction A week ahead of the 2025 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, Callaway has released a special version of its Chrome Tour golf balls. The "May Major" edition of the Chrome Tour golf balls are adorned with symbols of host city, including a "QC" with a crown over it. Charlotte is known as the "Queen City" after being named in honor of King George III's wife, Queen Charlotte, in 1768. The balls also feature a blue hornet, a nod to the city's NBA basketball team, the Charlotte Hornets, and the number 704, the city's telephone area code, is on the balls and the box as well. From a performance standpoint, the Charlotte-themed Chrome Tour balls should play and perform like the standard Chrome Tour balls that released in 2024. They feature a four-piece construction with a large rubber core encased in two mantles covered by a thin, soft urethane cover. Callaway updated the HyperFast Soft core to help golfers generate more speed and distance, while the thin urethane cover is easily grabbed by the grooves of wedges and short irons to generate spin on approach shots, pitch shots and chips. Callaway also updated the seamless, hexagonal dimple pattern, bolstering it in some areas with clusters of circular dimples to make the ball more stable in windy conditions. The Callaway "May Major" Chrome Tour balls will cost $54.99 per dozen and are available for order on while supplies last.
