Panthers' Chuba Hubbard named NFL's most underrated RB

Panthers' Chuba Hubbard named NFL's most underrated RB Somehow, there's still a lack of respect on the name of Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard. In fact, Hubbard is so ignored that he's been named the most underrated running back in the entire NFL. That title has come courtesy of ESPN analyst Aaron Schatz, who recently pieced together an all-underrated squad ahead of the 2025 campaign. Schatz writes of Hubbard: Let's be honest, the public tends to think about running backs based on their fantasy football value. Hubbard was never one of the top 20 fantasy backs in his first three NFL seasons. Last season was his best performance as a pro, yet he was only 13th in fantasy points. He wasn't going to put up league-leading totals on a losing Carolina team that didn't allow him to run out the clock in victories. But did you realize that Hubbard had 1,195 rushing yards and scored 11 touchdowns? On a per-play basis, he was outstanding. Hubbard ranked fourth among qualifying running backs last season in NFL Next Gen Stats' rushing yards over expectation per carry (1.1). It was his best year in that metric, but he was also above average in 2022 and 2023. Hubbard's 1,195 rushing yards and 10 rushing scores were both the highest such marks of his four-year pro tenure. He became only the fourth Panther in franchise history to hit those numbers—joining Stephen Davis (2003), DeAngelo Williams (2008) and Christian McCaffrey (2019). The Panthers got ahead of that massive production, as they locked the former fourth-round pick in on a four-year, $33.2 million extension in November. Hubbard would go on to churn out two of his very best performances after inking the pact, running for a career-high 153 yards and a touchdown in Week 10 and then 152 yards and two touchdowns (including a walk-off score in overtime) in Week 16. Panthers 2025 game-by-game predictions following schedule release

Panthers 2025 game-by-game predictions following schedule release It's never too early to predict a full 17-game regular-season schedule, right? On Wednesday night, the NFL officially revealed the 2025 slate for the Carolina Panthers. And, like every year, fans have already started mapping out their team's potential victories ahead of the upcoming campaign. So, since we were pretty much bang-on in our 2024 forecast, let's give these game-by-game predictions another go . . . Buy Carolina Panthers tickets for 2025 Week 1: at Jacksonville Jaguars Both of the franchise's NFC championship-winning seasons, 2003 and 2015, successfully began in Jacksonville. While a third trip to the Super Bowl here in 2025 seems rather unlikely, a little bit of history repeats itself once again. Prediction: Win (22-20) Week 2: at Arizona Cardinals The Panthers and running back Chuba Hubbard eliminated the Cardinals from playoff contention in an overtime thriller last season. Arizona exacts revenge. Prediction: Loss (23-17) Week 3: vs. Atlanta Falcons No revenge here. After closing up Atlanta's 2024 campaign in a triumphant Week 18 shootout, quarterback Bryce Young and crew keep their division rivals grounded at home. Prediction: Win (33-25) Week 4: at New England Patriots This time, it's the Panthers—not big-money defensive lineman Milton Williams—who make the Patriots pay. Prediction: Win (27-16) Week 5: vs. Miami Dolphins If quarterback Tua Tagovailoa can get going, the Miami offense still might have plenty of firepower left to unload. Prediction: Loss (38-21) Week 6: vs. Dallas Cowboys 2025 will mark the Cowboys' third trip to Bank of America Stadium in as many years. They picked up dominant victories in the first two matchups, outscoring the Panthers 63 to 24. Prediction: Loss (30-20) Week 7: at New York Jets With first-year head coach Aaron Glenn in tow, the Jets might be using 2025 to figure out who they want to be. Dave Canales and the Panthers, meanwhile, may already be there. Prediction: Win (21-13) Week 8: vs. Buffalo Bills The league's reigning Most Valuable Player and the rest of "Carolina North" may be primed for a Super Bowl run this season. Prediction: Loss (34-17) Week 9: at Green Bay Packers Carolina's last win at Lambeau Field came back in 2008. They're 0-3 since. Prediction: Loss (33-24) Week 10: vs. New Orleans Saints Um, who's starting under center for the Saints in 2025? Prediction: Win (20-10) Week 11: at Atlanta Falcons The Falcons get their lick back. Prediction: Loss (31-26) Week 12: at San Francisco 49ers Will Carolina's first primetime showcase in two years be a revenge game for running back Christian McCaffrey? Prediction: Loss (27-14) Week 13: vs. Los Angeles Rams Upset special! The Panthers get a defining win and shock the Rams in a tight battle in Charlotte. Prediction: Win (24-22) Week 14: Bye Week 15: at New Orleans Saints Again, who's playing quarterback for this team? Prediction: Win (17-13) Week 16: vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Tampa Bay has gone 9-1 against Carolina since 2020, and they may have gotten stronger this offseason. Prediction: Loss (35-24) Week 17: vs. Seattle Seahawks The Panthers stiff-arm the Seahawks in their final home game of the regular season. Prediction: Win (37-23) Week 18: at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Another year, another series sweep for the class of the NFC South. Prediction: Loss (41-33) Follow @ThePanthersWire on Twitter/X for more Panthers content.
