The Chase's Anne Hegerty goes from Governess to Fairy Rose in exciting career move
Anne Hegerty has been known as the Governess on quiz show The Chase since 2010, but now she is set to take on a new role in Scarborough Spa Hall. Known best for her role as the headstrong Governess on ITV's The Chase, Anne Hegerty is now set to swap her TV persona for the theatre stage as she has been confirmed to be reprising an exciting role over the festive period. It has been announced on X that from December 6, the 66-year-old will once again take on the role of The Fairy Rose in Scarborough Spa's production of Beauty and the Beast. The show is set to run until January 1, 2026. "Back by popular demand", Anne will be transforming into the Fairy Rose at Spa Hall in Scarborough, reports the Express, who is otherwise known as the Enchanted Rose in the 1991 film. The post said: "We are delighted to announce that back by popular demand for Beauty and the Beast will be The Governess, Anne Hegerty! Keep your eyes peeled for MORE star names to follow." Anne is not the only star to be revealed in the poster, as singer Jake Quickenden is also revealed to be playing the role of the villainous Gaston in the festive production. This certainly isn't Anne's pantomime debut, as she had previously showcased her talents in a 2014 production of Cinderella at the Grange Theatre as the Wicked Stepmother. She then went on to play the Empress of China in Aladdin and Carabosse in Sleeping Beauty. Speaking about how she kick started her career in the panto world, Anne shared that she was contacted by a theatre producer after she set up an X account. She told the Swindon Advertiser in 2022: "I did panto [but] I was really fairly terrible the first time. I was technically bad, I used to miss cues, so I stumbled through it. Then I got offered more and I've been doing it ever since. "I enjoy doing the panto, it's a chance to act and a chance to sing, a chance to act, a chance to be funny more than one gets in The Chase. "This year I'm Fairy Flutterby, I'm not strictly a villain, I do turn the Beast into the Beast, but I was only doing it to teach him a lesson." Anne has also teased fans about possibly venturing into acting, as last year she revealed a fellow quiz show colleague had written a sitcom role specifically for her. Chatting on the 'A Very Tall Man' podcast, she said: "I'd love to be on a TV show or a film. I know various people who are trying to get things off the ground," and "One of them is the guy on The Chase, he's written a sitcom with a part for me." She went on to express excitement about the project, saying: "It would be brilliant to get that made." However, while Anne seems to be excited about scripted roles, she has ruled out the idea of returning to reality TV. After her appearance on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in 2018, she said: "The jungle is about as big as you can get. Everything else is a bit of a step down. I don't want to do another reality show unless it involves something I want to get better at. I think I'm done." Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! 29 Products For Anyone Whose Home Needs A Cleaning
An EasyWring microfiber spin mop since your floors do, in fact, need to be mopped even though you'd like to think otherwise. The handle extends up to four feet, and the built-in mop wringer allows for hands-free wringing making mopping just a little bit less of a headache. A foaming garbage disposal cleaner capable of turning your food graveyard into a lemon-scented haven. I think we all can collectively agree that shoving our hand down the disposal to deep clean is not in our job description. Just place the packet in the disposal, let it soak, and turn on your disposal! Easy peasy lemon squeezy! Affresh dishwasher tablets for anyone who doesn't want to get on their hands and knees and stick their head in the dishwasher to clean it. These little tablets do the work for you. All you do is run it on a normal wash cycle and now you have a nice, fresh dishwasher. A jetted tub cleaner so you can enjoy that big ol' tub of yours without the creeping thought of, "Has anyone ever cleaned these jets?" The results might make you gag a little, but it's way better than having to get down and dirty in each jet because you just pour this in with a full tub, run the jets, and scrub away all the yuk! A bottle of Wet & Forget cleaner destined to turn your shower and tub from grimy and dirty to spiffy and shiny. All you gotta do is spray, let it sit overnight, and rinse! Finally, now you can enjoy your own scrub-a-dub-dub time *without* having to scrub-a-dub-dub the hard-to-reach crevices on your hands and knees. A flexible drain snake for when it's finally time to tackle that clogged shower drain. This has small micro hooks that grab onto hair easily, and even though the results will make you want to gag, this so comes in handy for those rare deep cleaning sessions. The Baseboard Buddy because getting down on your hands and knees like Cinderella is not in your job title (even though cleaning baseboards is something you should do every now and then). The extendable arm gets in places high and low and is way better than pricey disposable dusters because the pads are reusable! The Bissell Little Green, which works ✨wonders✨ on your couches, carpets, and other upholstery items since it literally sucks up dirt, stubborn stains, and any other nasty spills that have worked their way into your life. Forget calling the pros — this little green powerhouse is way more affordable and just as effective. A rust stain remover spray since hard water with high iron levels is slowly turning your white tub into a yellowish-brown eyesore. This gel formula is designed to cling to stains and remove them without any scrubbing. A nontoxic fireplace cleaner meant to tackle soot, ash, and all fire-related grime that's been building up on your stone and brick. This gel helps make it look brand-spankin' new, and it even comes with a brush for scrubbing! Bioclean, a hard water stain remover, to bring your glass doors, faucets, and shower heads back to their "what once was" state of clean. Now, with no more hard water stains or gross tile, you can go back to 🎶 singing in the shower 🎶 without a big ol' yikes in between the chorus and the verse. A Cerama-Bryte cooktop cleaning kit so when you look at your glass stove top, you can smile at your reflection instead of roll your eyes at the leftover grease, dried-up pasta water, and other messes that come with cooking at home. It comes with a cleaning solution, cleaning pads, and a scraper tool! A fume-free oven cleaner meant to tackle the most hard-to-remove buildup from last week's dinner that you just wish cleaned itself up. No more wasting money on weaker cleaning products; this stuff is literally called Easy-Off because it easily gets all the gunk off with a simple spray and swipe. New oven, who dis? A three-part microfiber wand, which gets rid of the dust on the top AND bottom of not one... but TWO blinds at once. This comes with five microfiber cleaning towels and saves you from using up a whole roll of paper towels just for cleaning the blinds. An automatic bleach toilet cleaning system because even thinking about cleaning the toilet makes me want to gag! This little contraption will send cleaning solution into your bowl each time you flush, making it waayyy less gross when it comes time to actually deep clean the porcelain throne. A Clorox toilet cleaning kit that'll be the #1 product when it comes to cleaning where you go #1 and #2. Not only does this come with a wand and storage caddy, it comes with extra refills of the disposable sponges that are infused with the cleaning liquid. Plus, the release button on the wand allows you to easily throw away the sponges without actually touching the sponge! And a reusable pumice stone so you can easily scratch away at those yucky stains without leaving behind scratch marks in the bowl. Those regular plastic bristles are no match for this strong yet gentle cleaner that makes your porcelain throne look brand stinkin' new (minus the literal stink). A dryer vent cleaning kit you can attach to your vacuum to suck out all that excess lint that doesn't get collected by the lint trap (spoiler: it's a lot more than you think). A slim cleaning brush to get in those hard-to-reach places like the window and door tracks. The handle even doubles as a scraper if there's dirt that's really stuck in there. Your plain sponge could never. A jar of *THE* Pink Stuff — it'll work wonders to remove dirt, oil, grime, rust, and stains from pretty much any surface. You'll be surprised that the ingredient list doesn't just say "magic" since it brings your things (stoves, pans, sinks, etc.) back to life with little to no elbow grease required. A set of cleaning brush attachments you can attach to a drill for some serious scrubbin'. If you've ever broken a cleaning brush scrubbing with too much elbow grease, this is the thing for you. Your back will thank you, your bathroom surfaces will sparkle, and you will be so thankful cleaning took half the time it usually does. A professional-strength grout cleaner because the white grout you chose to go with your white tile is now somehow very, very dark. 😣 Revive your grout with this solution, which comes with a flip-top cap for accurate application and no wasted product! A stainless steel cleaner and polish to remove fingerprints, watermarks, and any other residues that get on your stove, oven, or other stainless steel appliances. And this comes with a microfiber towel for buffing! A pack of duster sponges that might just be dust's worst enemy. All you gotta do is dampen it, wipe, and rinse! The ridged surface grabs all that grossness and it's reusable, which is way more eco-friendly than using wasteful paper towels. A length-adjustable pet hair broom to sweep up all that dog hair, human hair, and random dust that camouflages itself on your patterned rugs. But really, this works for any type of floor and will leave you stunned at how you and your pets aren't bald by now. A touchless stationary vacuum because no matter how many times you try, the dustpan is never gonna get 100% of the dirt you collected. This lil' guy is super convenient and relieves you of having to go back and forth to the trashcan after sweeping. A multipurpose, portable steamer so your floors, furniture, windows, ovens, and basically anything you can think of can be brought back to life. This comes with 17 different attachments making it great for small crevices and larger surface areas. Win-win if you ask me! Grandma's Secret, which is basically like a washing machine in a bottle! Who cares about Victoria's Secret... the only secret I wanna know is what is in this little bottle that does miracles for getting out hard-to-tackle stains and messes. Just apply and let it sit for 5–10 minutes and wipe away! An MVP-worthy pet urine stain-removing spray to revive your carpets and furniture into the stain-free beauties they once were. All you gotta do is spray, let it sit for 5–10 minutes, blot, and let it air dry! Yes, you love your fancy little pooch, but you don't love the number she does on your carpets.

Katie Price 'pulls out' of 38-date tell-all tour with Kerry Katona
Katie Price has reportedly been forced to pull out of her much-anticipated 'tell-all' tour with friend Kerry Katona. The two noughties icons, who rose to fame as a glamour model and member of girlband Atomic Kitten respectively, met and forged a friendship when they pivoted to reality TV. Both starred on the 2004 series of I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, which Kerry won while Katie was introduced to her former husband – and father of two of her children – Peter Andre through it. However, 47-year-old Katie has now been forced to cancel her participation for all 38 proposed dates of the tour with Kerry, 44, which was due to run throughout September and October. An Evening With Katie Price & Kerry Katona was set to visit venues including Redditch Palace Theatre, Stockport Plaza, Grimsby Auditorium, Portsmouth New Theatre Royal and Watford Palace Theatre. 'Katie is gutted and tried everything she could to make it work but she has had to step away from the tour because she has childcare commitments and also a very busy schedule,' a source told The Sun. 'She hates letting her fans down and hopes to be able to do something similar in the future.' The insider said that it was 'unclear' at the moment whether Kerry would press on it with it as a solo endeavour or if the whole tour would be scrapped. 'There is no bad blood between Kerry and Katie, they're still best of mates, but it's a huge blow to their fans,' they added. A representative for Katie also confirmed to the publication that she had pulled out, citing 'childcare commitments that come first'. The tour was due to kick off on Thursday September 11 in Ellesmere Port before concluding in Hull on Wednesday October 22. It had promised to see Katie and Kerry share 'stories of their friendship, marriage and divorce, bankruptcy, I'm A Celebrity, the importance of family, their constant press attention and turning their lives around'. The show – marketed as 'strictly 16+ only' due to adult content – also promoted 'some song and dance and an opportunity for audience questions' on one venue's website. Meet and Greet VIP tickets were an option for the tour as well. Kerry and Katie previously co-starred on stage together last year when they played the wicked step-sisters in the pantomime Cinderella at the Northwich Memorial Court in Cheshire. Katie shared on her podcast at the time how Kerry helped get her cast in the show, which has reportedly broken theatre records in ticket sales. 'So Kerry got me the gig because she has been working with them for six years,' she explained. 'And she was like 'Why don't you come and do this panto', and she said it was for the ugly sisters and I said, 'Oh are we ugly then?' and she said we can still be really pretty.' Despite ups and downs in their friendship over the years, Katie and Kerry have become very close with the two said to be relying on each other quite a lot for emotional support in recent times. Speaking to The Mirror, a source claimed: 'Katie and Kerry are growing closer over their shared experiences of tough times – they've been a shoulder for each other to cry on. 'Katie didn't have the best Mother's Day; she was working and didn't see her kids, which was tough for her.' Mum-of-five Katie was busy with another panto, Pinocchio, meaning that she spent Mother's Day without her children – 23-year-old Harvey, 19-year-old Junior, 17-year-old Princess, 11-year-old Jett, and 10-year-old Bunny. More Trending Pinocchio, her adults-only pantomime, in which she appeared opposite 90s comedian Bobby Davro, saw one venue, Chesham's Elgiva Theatre, slashed prices in a bid to sell more seats last month. The theatre reportedly decided to offer buyers a second ticket for half price once they'd bought their own ticket, after huge blocks of seats were still available for both the matinee and evening performances, with just a week to go. Metro has contacted reps for Katie Price and Kerry Katona for comment. Got a story? I got engaged at Disney World! Here's some magical tips to keep in mind
I got engaged at Disney World! Here's some magical tips to keep in mind Here's what you should know before you propose at the most magical place on Earth. Show Caption Hide Caption Disney launches new Florida resident ticket deal Walt Disney World has announced the launch of a new ticket deal for Florida residents just in time for the summer. Fox - 35 Orlando As a little girl, I always dreamed about what it would be like to be proposed to in front of Cinderella castle, and I know I'm not the only one. So here's a former Disney World photographer's guide on how to propose to your Disney princess or prince in the most magical place on Earth. For many Disney adults, Disney World, specifically Magic Kingdom, is the epitome of a fairytale come to life. So it's no wonder that so many, including myself, dreamed about what it would be like to have the love of their life propose to them at their favorite place on earth. As someone who used to be a Photopass photographer at the Magic Kingdom and, more recently, as someone who got engaged in the Magic Kingdom, I have all sorts of tricks and tips I WISHED I could've bestowed on all the poor unfortunate souls who could've made their proposals even better. But, fear not, while I may not be a magical fairy godmother, I wrote this guide to make sure your favorite Mouseketeer has the engagement of their dreams. Please tell your photographers before you pop the question While it's a wonderful surprise, your photographer shouldn't be the one you're surprising! Warn the photographer and let them know you're going to propose, or have someone in your party do so. This way, the photographer can mentally prepare for what's about to happen and plan out the poses and shots they want to take. Photographers can also make the moment even more magical by taking Magic Shots, which is a photo that is digitally-enhanced to include Disney characters, balloons or famous Disney snacks and more. Additionally, if the photographer has the time, they can take you to other locations in the park near their station. More Disney news: Disney World reveals start date for new Disney Starlight nighttime parade Prepare for the heat As a Miami native, I'm no stranger to the heat. However, something about Orlando's heat and humidity is significantly worse than anywhere in South Florida. We ended up having to leave the park right after he proposed because I wasn't feeling well, and the heat was getting to me despite the copious amounts of water I was drinking. To avoid any of these issues, I would suggest doing the following: Propose first thing in the morning when you get to the park. Take a break at the hotel when temperatures are at their highest and propose when you come back refreshed and ready. Sunsets at the parks are always gorgeous and look great in photos. Bring a change of clothing if your partner is the kind of person who likes to stay at the park from open to close. Finally, don't forget to pack the following: Sunscreen Sun protection, like baseball caps Portable fans Cooling towels Water bottles Photo ops Photopass photographers are stationed all over the Walt Disney World Parks. Many are stationed in front of the castle, but you can find photographers in front of the Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Belle's castle. For $99, guests can also sign up for a private, 20-minute session called Capture Your Moment, where photopass photographers will follow you around the park and conduct your own personal photoshoot. Sessions booked between May 26 and September 1 will receive a $20 discount, according to Disney World's website. Capture your moment can be booked at the following parks: Animal Kingdom EPCOT Hollywood Studios Magic Kingdom Don't bring the real ring One of the brilliant things my fiancé did was that he didn't bring my actual ring to the parks! I'm a very clumsy person, and I lose almost anything, so I know I would've been petrified to carry around my actual ring. So, instead, my darling fiancé proposed to me with a $20 ring featuring a heart-shaped moonstone in the center, which he purchased on Amazon. It was the only ring I wore throughout the engagement, and I was so proud to show it off whenever I told a cast member we were engaged. Additionally, I was able to wander throughout the park and ride the attractions without worrying that I might lose my very expensive engagement ring. Don't just propose in front of the castle Personalize your engagement! A castle proposal isn't the end-all be-all of Disney proposals. Tailor your engagement to what your fiancée likes about Disney. You can propose just about anywhere! You can even propose during a hot air balloon ride at Disney Springs, but make sure to have a backup plan in case it's shut down. And they lived happily ever after... Be sure that this is the kind of proposal your partner wants! There are always people around the parks, and proposals, especially the ones that take place on Main Street U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom, which is the street that leads to the famous castle, tend to draw an audience. But, as long as you've done your homework and made sure this is what your partner wants, your Beloved is sure to adore the proposal no matter what. So here's to you and your future happily ever after! Good luck! Julia is a trending reporter for USA TODAY.
