It's not all about active noise cancellation – these open-ear earbuds have better sound quality than my Airpods
If you had asked me 3 months ago about what makes a good set of earbuds, good active noise cancellation performance would have been right up there. But now, open-ear earbuds have well and truly won me over — and they let in all of the ambient sound. As someone who loves to go on a Sunday morning run or a mid-afternoon stroll, the ability to remain aware of my surroundings is a huge bonus. When I use my Beats Studio 3 headphones to go for a run I always have to take them off to cross busy roads, and this interrupts my flow. I'm then stuck trying to get the right fit when I put them back on. But some of the best running headphones are open-ear buds, so it's only right to ditch the overheads for something more fit for purpose. After testing a whole host of open-ear buds, I think I have finally found the ones that I'll be using from here on out: the EarFun Clip earbuds. The EarFun Clip are waterproof and dustproof open-earbuds that have completely changed my workouts for the better. They block out a little more ambient sound than other open-earbuds on the market but they have incredible sound quality. There is 10-hours playtime on a single charge and an extra 40 with the charging case. For the price, these are an absolute steal. After previously testing the EarFun OpenJump open-ear buds and not getting on with them since they just didn't fit me at all, I was pretty skeptical about the fit of the EarFun Clips. But as soon as I put the Clips on I knew I was in good hands. From running, hiking, to dancing around my living room to 'Mr Brightside' by The Killers, these buds did not budge. Once they were on, they were on. With other open-ear clip design buds I have tested, it has been a struggle to get the correct positioning without them slipping. And with other styles of open-ears, like ones that wrap around the top of the ear, I can never get them to stay put. The EarFun Clips were also super comfortable to wear for long periods of time. I used them throughout my work day and didn't experience any discomfort. The buds are extremely light and it was almost as if they weren't there at all. The EarFun Clips have a durability rating of IP55. This means that they are resistant to water splashes and sweat, as well as dust. The waterproof rating means that any sweat getting on the buds won't affect their performance, and they can withstand water splashes from all angles. For me, this meant I could head out on a walk even if it was lightly raining. Although they are dustproof, I always make sure my earbuds are in their charging case when I'm not using them. But if they do get left out for whatever reason, I give them a wipe before popping them back in the case to avoid any build-up. These buds don't behave like open-ears at all. With open-ears I expect to experience some loss in sound quality because the earbuds are using a different method to send the audio into the ear. The EarFun Clips use air conduction, which means the speaker is directing the sound at the ear canal, which is actually more similar to a traditional earbud. This is unlike bone conduction earbuds like the Shockz OpenRun that are recommended for running by Tom's Guide. The EarFun Clips are for runners who take music seriously. I can seriously imagine nothing worse than going on a run and not having motivation from my favorite music. And the Clips give me that music with great sound quality. I was also able to use the EarFun app to make sure the EQ settings were perfect for the music I like to listen to. Denny Hamlin Blasts Ross Chastain For 'Bulls--t Racing' In Talladega

During the Jack Link's 500 at Talladega Superspeedway, the Trackhouse Racing driver used a blocking move on Hamlin. Addressing the move during his Actions Detrimental podcast, Hamlin argued that if it had been the other way around then Chastain probably would have crashed into the back of him. He explained: "But I believe the roles reversed, he would have, he would probably just run into me. I would think he would run into me as he should and say, 'I didn't make you swerve. I was running my lane with the pack of cars that was on the race track. You tried to merge up into a lane that wasn't there.' "So, I just think it's bulls**t racing and I think that um, I guess you got to just hold it down and if you cause a wreck, hopefully, you spin them out and don't wreck yourself. Former Ohio sheriff's deputy who had sex with inmate won't be charged
A former Ohio sheriff's deputy who was fired for having sex with an inmate won't be facing any charges. [DOWNLOAD: Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] In October of 2022, then-deputy April Woodside was fired from the Summit County Sheriff's Office for having sex with inmate Jordan Schwertner, CBS affiliate WOIO-19 reported. The Summit County Sheriff's Office originally closed the case in December of 2022, but reopened it in November of 2024, WOIO-19 reported. Woodside admitted to detectives during an internal affairs investigation that she and Schertner had sex within his cell. Records obtained by WOIO-19 showed that the two texted each other more than 750 time in a one month period, as well has speaking on the phone. Schwertner used his jail-issued tablet to communicate with her. Woodside even sent Schwertner dozens of risqué photos of herself, according to investigators. Schwertner said he filed a federal rape complaint known as a PREA (Prison Rape Elimination Act) in June of 2023, WOIO-19 reported. He said that as an inmate he could not have consented to sex. According to the final report submitted by Lead Investigator Kirk Hostetler, Schertner later admitted to having a sexual encounter with Woodside in his cell. Schwertner told WOIO-19 that he and Woodside had essentially been dating while he was serving time in Summit County, The report from the sheriff's office shows the Woodside was also suspected of smuggling drugs into the jail. Woodside admitted to providing Schertner with contraband, such as cigarettes but denied giving him any drugs, WOIO-19 reported. Schwertner said that after Woodside was fired, his cell was raided, and deputies found some of the drugs she had given him. He claims that Woodside gave him a wide variety of narcotics. Ohio's Revised Code § Chapter 2907 and § Chapter 2921.36 both state it's a third-degree felony for a law enforcement officer to have sex with ― or provide drugs to ― an inmate. The final report from the sheriff's office does not mention was happened with the suspected narcotics that were seized, WOIO-19 reported. According to SCSO's policy regarding Investigations Section 7.3.1 - IV, 'All controlled substances…will be submitted directly to the Summit County Drug Unit, who will then coordinate the submission to BCI.' The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation was unable to locate any records related to the name 'Woodside' or the case number listed on the report, WOIO-19 reported. The Summit County Prosecutor's office was asked to review the case for criminal charges, but Chief Criminal Assistant Prosecutor Brian LoPrinzi declined to take it to a grand jury. in a Feb. 25 letter to Sheriff Kandy Fatheree, LoPrinzi stated that due to the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in Garrity v. New Jersey ― which protects public employees from self-incrimination ― Woodside's admission to detectives couldn't be used against her in court, WOIO-19 reported.
