Cockatoo Acting Like 'Possessed Demon Chicken' Is Cracking Everyone Up
Cockatoo Acting Like 'Possessed Demon Chicken' Is Cracking Everyone Up originally appeared on Parade Pets. Cockatoos are not easy birds to keep. Arguably, no birds are "easy," but Cockatoos in particular are one of the toughest species to care for. They're loud, demanding, a little scary, and downright dangerous if they're not treated right. On Saturday, July 19th, one Cockatoo showed off that they're always crazy, even when treated like kings. When he got a little angry at his parents, he went full "possessed demon chicken" on them. It was truly a sight to behold: Charlie Jr. the Cockatoo is one of my personal favorites. You literally never know what this guy is going to do next, but you can almost always guarantee that whatever it is is not going to be what you is a 25-year-old rescue Cockatoo who lives with parents around his age. His mom was the one who really wanted him, but he's decided that his dad is the one he loves most of all. It's a little rude! Even still, mom adores him and puts up with his tantrums every single day. For example, on this day, he decided that no one in the world was allowed to use the stairs. Trying to step on Charlie's stairs resulted in possessed demon chicken-like squawking. Charlie is not afraid to bite, either: once, he bit right through mom's designer bag. They put up with it purely because of his moments of sweetness. When he's sweet, there's absolutely nothing better: Charlie is pretty much a classic Cockatoo: they're basically feathered Sour Patch Kids. Even if they're well-loved and you take care of them, they're going to have their moments. A Cockatoo having a tantrum does not mean you're doing a bad job! Making sure they have enough to eat, fresh water, and plenty of playtime can help lessen the likelihood of full-blown meltdowns. Even so, it won't make them quiet! Cockatoos are loud when they're happy, too. Charlie definitely is. He's lucky his parents adore him so! 🐶🐾🐾 Cockatoo Acting Like 'Possessed Demon Chicken' Is Cracking Everyone Up first appeared on Parade Pets on Jul 23, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade Pets on Jul 23, 2025, where it first appeared. Cockatoo Demanding To Be Let Out of Cage Like a Boss Is Cracking People Up
Cockatoo Demanding To Be Let Out of Cage Like a Boss Is Cracking People Up originally appeared on Parade Pets. As toddlers (and even older kids) know, dads are often the weak link when it comes to getting what they want. In a hilarious TikTok clip, Bentley the Cockatoo is channeling his inner 2-year-old as he demands to be released from a time-out. 'Bentley went on a time-out for biting,' his pet mamma said. 'He got mad and threw a temper tantrum like a toddler, but Dad succumbed.' What a boss! (Bentley, not Dad, sorry, Dad!) 'So stinkin' cute,' a fan noted. 'He wants what he wants and ain't afraid to tell you!' Of course, when your bird squawks 'I want out!' several times from his cage, anyone would find it impossible to say no to such an intelligent creature. (Even if they've gotten into trouble.) 🐶🐾🐾 'OMG so cute,' another fan wrote on TikTok, marveling at Bentley's speaking ability. 'He's a better communicator than me!' Bentley's dad is surely communicating that he's a softy, snuggling with his bird baby and truly enjoying some one-on-one time with his feathered friend, after Bentley's release from the cage. 'Can you believe she put me on time-out?' Bentley appears to whisper to his dad in the video clip. OMG, that's hilarious! The funny thing is that Cockatoos are often compared to toddlers and are known for their expressive personalities, which can include temper tantrums. So, aside from a little cage time to calm down, what are some other strategies a pet parent can try to get a Cockatoo on a more even keel?Experts recommend rewarding calm behavior with praise, treats, or attention. This can help your bird associate quietness with positive outcomes. They also suggest teaching your Cockatoo to perform an action (like a trick) incompatible with screaming. When your Cockatoo starts to scream, cue the incompatible behavior and reward success. Hopefully, Bentley learned his lesson after the time-out! Judging by how he's apparently manipulated his dad, though, we have a feeling Bentley's parents are going to have their hands full for years to come. You see, while toddlers grow out of the tantrum phase, Cockatoos typically don't! Good luck, Mom and Dad! ‘Ridiculously Cute' Cockatoo Races Outside To Welcome Dad in Sweet Video
'Ridiculously Cute' Cockatoo Races Outside To Welcome Dad in Sweet Video originally appeared on Parade Pets. At my house, returning home from work or errands always comes with the greatest surprise. Flinging the door open, I'm always greeted by the most excited hype squad who cheers (barks), jumps, and sometimes pees a little(!), by my presence. I deserve none of that for just running to the gas station for a few minutes, and yet, that's what I get! I'm sure other dog parents agree — there's nothing like a pup's "welcome home." Compared to the nonchalant, vague acknowledgment of my existence from my cats, I thought dog greetings couldn't be topped. But then one extremely devoted Cockatoo said, "Hold my beer." Charlie Junior's love for his dad is such a beautiful gift, but it makes me wish my pets would do more of this stalker-level obsession! The waiting by the window, the countdown once he sees the car pull in, the absolute thrill of seeing Dad is unmatched. I wouldn't want to be the spare parent in this house (sorry, Mom)! Charlie and Dad's relationship is crazy strong. They're beyond bestie level and more like soulmate status. Their bond is something more than 192k TikTok fans can't get enough of, and this clip of Charlie waiting for Dad's 6 p.m. return is exactly why! As one person pointed out to Mom, "The way he immediately turns on you when he knows Dad will be home soon," and yeah, that has to sting! "I can't cope with the cuteness," another added."The absolute audacity that Dad has to work. He should be at home treating me like the totality that I am," another correct person joked. I'm sure if Charlie could say more than his vocabulary allows, he'd say as much! When Dad's home and the two boys are chillin', they love doing everything together. It doesn't even matter if Dad's napping, because Charlie's not going anywhere. The entertaining Cockatoo's favorite one-on-one time is when Dad sings so he can perform his VIP dance... and it's really that cute! I could seriously watch these two all day. It doesn't matter if it's Charlie waiting by the window for his number one guy or they're hanging out, singing and dancing — I'm here for all of it! 🐶🐾🐾 'Ridiculously Cute' Cockatoo Races Outside To Welcome Dad in Sweet Video first appeared on Parade Pets on Jul 13, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade Pets on Jul 13, 2025, where it first appeared.

Funny Cockatoo Battles to Stay Awake After a Day of 'Being a Menace'
Funny Cockatoo Battles to Stay Awake After a Day of 'Being a Menace' originally appeared on Parade Pets. Parents of toddlers know how critical naps are to the overall happiness of their children. In fact, a little siesta is often the difference between a great day and a gruesome day. Apparently, the same holds true for our feathered friends as well. Just ask Casper the Cockatoo and his pet mamma! 'So sleepy after a long day of being a menace,' Casper's pet parent says in a funny TikTok clip as the little cutie can barely hold his head up after hours of antics! Watching his adorable little head tilt as he heads off to la-la land is hilarious. He's fighting sleep like he's trying to stay up to catch the end of a movie! Those feathers are so gorgeous. By the look of some of Casper's other TikTok clips, this little dude definitely needs a lot of rest and recovery time! Check out this video of him gettin' down to some dance music. 🐶🐾🐾This little guy can even twerk! Watch him throw it in a circle! Casper has all the right moves! He can obviously crush it on the dance floor, and his headbanging indicates that he'd be equally comfortable in a mosh pit!Of course, Cockatoos are known for being full of personality. Some liken these beautiful birds to 2-year-olds in that they have boundless energy and aren't afraid to express it — even to the point of absolute silliness. They can also throw temper tantrums when their needs aren't met, again, just like little kids. But Cockatoos, like many other birds, take naps during the day to re-energize (and hopefully minimize the threat of a tantrum). These naps, not as deep or long as their overnight sleep, are a normal part of their daily routine. The funny thing about Casper, though, is that he's no, umm, spring chicken!According to his TikTok page, this clever Cockatoo is nowhere near his toddler days! He's 21 years old! I guess what comes around goes around. My kids are in their late teens and early 20s, and well, they can sleep all day! Rest up, Casper! We can't wait to see what sort of fun you'll have in store for us on your next post! Cockatoo's Attempt To Keep Mom and Dad Apart Is True Toddler Life
Cockatoo's Attempt To Keep Mom and Dad Apart Is True Toddler Life originally appeared on Parade Pets. As a bird mom myself, I can tell you that birds are all basically just strange, feathered toddlers. I only have little Budgies, and they're annoying enough as it is (said with love). Bigger, crazier birds? I can't even imagine actually having one, though I love to watch other people try. Recently, one cute Cockatoo decided that he actually wants to make sure mom and dad are never allowed near each other. His reason for that seems to be that, as long as they're apart, their main focus is going to be him: Charlie Junior the Cockatoo is so dramatic. It's one of the things I love most about him: he's one of the most dramatic birds around. He is fully committed to being the baby, and he's not going to let anything stand in his way. It's hilarious. His favorite parent, by the way, is his dad. He doesn't even try to hide it, even though it offends his mama deeply! His dad didn't even want to get him at first: mom kind of had to force it! He's happy now, and he adores Charlie, but you'd think the bird might show mom some love! He does not care, and Cockatoos do not care if they hurt your feelings, either. In fact, if you teach them mean words, they will literally insult you for fun. Choosing your words carefully around a Cockatoo (or any mimicking bird) is essential, otherwise they could end up with quite a... Colorful tend to have a favorite human, that's just how life goes. There are steps you can take to try to help your chances of being your pet's favorite, like: Feeding them. Being the person who sleeps with/puts them to bed. Sneaking them treats and toys. However, there's sometimes just nothing you can do to prevent them from "imprinting" on someone else. At least they're bonding with someone, right? Even if that someone was the person apprehensive about getting the bird in the first place! Come on, Charlie! 🐶🐾🐾 Cockatoo's Attempt To Keep Mom and Dad Apart Is True Toddler Life first appeared on Parade Pets on Jun 30, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade Pets on Jun 30, 2025, where it first appeared.
