How to watch the 'South Park' season premiere episode everyone's talking about

No stranger to controversy,"South Park" premiered its 27th season on July 23 with a talker, depicting President Donald Trump in bed with the devil. The creators of the animated series, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, came out swinging against both the company that just promised them a lot of money and the leader of the free world with possibly their most controversial show yet. The episode shows Trump suing the tiny town of South Park when its parents resist "anti-woke" policies, threatening anyone who isn't sufficiently pro-Trump, and literally getting into bed naked with Satan. In the show, Trump is shown using actual photos of his head stuck on an animated body. Longtime fans will recognize it: it's the same way the show depicted former Iraq leader Saddam Hussein in 1999's "South Park" movie. Satan even notices the resemblance. "You remind me more and more of this other guy I used to date," he said. "Like, a lot. Like, you guys are exactly alike." The episode also skewers their new boss and its controversial decisions to pay Trump $16 million to settle a lawsuit and to cancel the popular CBS talk show "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" where Colbert nightly roasts the president. Ironically, just hours after the premiere, Paramount announced a $1.5 billion, 5-year agreement to bring all 27 seasons of the long-running series to its Paramount+ streaming platform, along with 50 new episodes. After the show triggered widespread shock, glee and outrage (and condemnations from Trump and the White House), the creators "apologized" the next day, 'We're terribly sorry,' Parker said with a sly grin at a Comedy Central's Comic-Con animation panel next to Stone. "South Park" is on Comedy Central, which is owned by Paramount Global. Paramount just got the OK for a multi-billion merger with Skydance Media, which was dependent on approval from Trump's FCC. If you missed the season 27 premiere of "South Park" on Comedy Central, you can find it — and the rest of the new season's episodes — the next day on Paramount+. Watch South Park on Paramount+ As of July 23, Paramount+ is the new exclusive streaming home of "South Park" and its entire 27-year library for the next five years. The show's entire library previously lived on HBO Max. New episodes will continue to air on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on Comedy Central and the next day on Paramount+. Monthly plans for Paramount+ start at $12.99. Games Of Thrones Fame Peter Dinklage Teases The Toxic Avenger's First Glimpse At San Diego Comic-Con

Peter Dinklage and Elijah Wood thrilled fans at San Diego Comic-Con 2025 with a sneak peek of their superhero movie, The Toxic Avenger, releasing on August 29. Hollywood stars Peter Dinklage and Elijah Wood have made fans super happy. On Thursday, the duo teased an early glimpse of their upcoming superhero movie, The Toxic Avenger, in Hall H at the San Diego Comic-Con 2025. The four-day event will conclude on July 27. The Toxic Avenger, directed by Macon Blair, was announced back in 2023 with its trailer premiering in September of the same year. The film was, however, stalled after the makers failed to secure a distributor. The much-awaited superhero reboot is finally coming to the US theatres on August 29. The Toxic Avenger revolves around an ordinary janitor, Winston Gooze, played by Peter Dinklage, who transforms into a mutant vigilante after an accident at a chemical factory. The newfound superpowers help Winston fight against the slimy criminals and a corrupted CEO. Apart from Peter and Elijah Wood, the movie also stars Jacob Tremblay and Taylour Paige in crucial roles. Peter Dinklage revealed that slipping into the shoes of the 'mop-wielding superhero" Toxie in the film was 'an easy yes" for him, reported People magazine. The Game of Thrones actor credited this to the filmmaker and fellow Comic-Con panelist Lloyd Kaufman, who made the original Toxic Avenger film in 1984. Peter Dinklage On The Toxic Avenger Subtly hinting at the theme of The Toxic Avenger, Peter Dinklage said, 'Environmental concerns are an ongoing thing, now more than ever. The great way to get into that is through satire, through the backdoor, through humor. This just felt so perfect and necessary and needed." The actor further admitted that he was a 'huge fan" of director Macon Blair. Peter Dinklage heaped praise on his body-double, Luisa Guerreiro, for doing a fantastic job. 'Over 70% of my performance is not me. Guerreiro studied all my movements like a hawk and did a better me than I did." Elijah Wood, who essays the character of an antagonist, Fritz in The Toxic Avenger, said, 'There's a beating heart in there. I love the horror genre because of the possibilities. This movie is filled to the brim with ideas, and fun and playing with the medium." White House lashes out at 'South Park' Trump parody

The White House lashed out at the creators of "South Park" Thursday after the bawdy satire skewered Donald Trump in an episode featuring an AI-generated version of the U.S. president crawling naked through a desert. In a no-holds-barred season premiere, the animated Trump character is also seen begging Satan for sex, only to be rebuffed — in part because his penis is too small. The White House was not amused. "This show hasn't been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention," spokesperson Taylor Rogers said. "President Trump has delivered on more promises in just six months than any other president in our country's history — and no fourth-rate show can derail President Trump's hot streak." The adult animated series, which frequently touches on hot-button issues in American life, is now in its 27th season and remains one of the world's most valuable TV shows. The season premiere begins with the foul-mouthed Cartman appalled that NPR has been taken off the air by the president, while Randy, a parent, is disturbed by the presence of Jesus in public elementary school. Complaints to the fictional White House receive only a threat from Trump to sue the mountain town of South Park for billions of dollars. Meanwhile, animated Trump is threatening to bomb Canada "like I did Iraq." "I thought you just bombed Iran," the Canadian prime minister replies. "Iran, Iraq, what the hell's the difference?" replies Trump. The episode, which sees the fictional Trump ride rough-shod over many aspects of American life, ends after the town of South Park makes a financial deal with the president that includes an agreement to make public service announcements. The AI generated short that follows — ostensibly one of those announcements — shows an overweight Trump staggering through a desert as a narrator casts him as a latter-day Jesus. The short ends with a naked Trump as the narrator says: "Trump. His penis is teeny-tiny, but his love for us is large." At a Thursday panel at pop culture event Comic-Con in San Diego, "South Park" creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker revealed internal discussions over depicting a fake presidential phallus. "They're like, 'Okay, but we're gonna blur the penis.' And I'm like, 'No, you're not going to blur the penis'," Parker told the audience. After "a whole conversation with a lot of grown up people for about four (...) days," Parker said they decided to add eyes to it to avoid it being blurred. Merger The episode aired days after creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone reportedly penned a $1.5 billion streaming deal with Paramount that gives the company global rights. The deal comes at a sensitive time for Paramount, which is trying to secure government approval for a multi-billion-dollar merger with entertainment company Skydance. The CBS parent caused a furor this month when it agreed to pay $16 million to settle a lawsuit Trump had brought over an interview the storied "60 Minutes" current affairs program aired with Kamala Harris ahead of last November's election. The payment was criticized by Democrats as little more than a bribe to help smooth the merger, with Paramount initially dismissing Trump's lawsuit as meritless. Last week CBS sparked fury after it cancelled "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" whose host is a pointed critic of the president. The network insisted it was a financial decision, but opponents have painted the move as the latest example of American institutions bowing to Trump.
