ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Trillium Health will host an evening of entertainment and advocacy for its largest annual fundraising event on Saturday. The White Party is held to advance Trillium Health's effort to end the HIV epidemic and provide individuals with accessible healthcare and resources. Trillium Health is a Federally Qualified Health Center that takes a holistic approach to providing comprehensive care to over 20,000 patients throughout the Greater Rochester area. Formerly known as the Community Health Network before expanding to Trillium Health in 2016, the organization was founded by Dr. William Valenti and Dr. Steven Scheibel as an HIV and AIDS clinic in 1989. They also serve the community with primary care and additional health services. As a WHO Collaborating Centre for Community Health Service, the School of Nursing at PolyU, in collaboration with the PolyU RISA, is hosting the Healthy Ageing Conference 2025. Inclusion of Three Essential Factors in Ageing: In addition to evaluating six intrinsic capacities—cognition, mobility, nutrition, vision, hearing, and mental health—ICOPE 2.0 now incorporates "urinary incontinence management", "social care and support", "carer support" and vaccination advocacy, thus providing a more accurate representation of older adults' health status and quality of life. Introduction of Three Filter Questions: To streamline the assessment process for cognitive, hearing, and vision capabilities, a rapid screening system has been established. If an older adult responds "yes" to any of these questions, they will be referred directly for a comprehensive evaluation. Provision of Immediate Recommendations and Interventions: Following the completion of the ICOPE 2.0 assessment, the responsible assessor is equipped to offer tailored health advice and community support based on the individual needs of the older adult. The WHO Collaborating Centre for Community Health Services has developed comprehensive online and offline educational materials for ICOPE 2.0, with a training video premiered at the conference. He said, "With PolyU's extensive experience in the education of healthcare professionals, we have submitted a forward-looking and innovative proposal to the Government for the establishment of Hong Kong's third medical school, aiming to leverage the University's robust capabilities in medical science, medicine and engineering integration, and AI-driven medicine to nurture a new generation of medical doctors who are socially responsible and technologically proficient.", stated in her speech that China and the WHO have conducted a series of collaborations on integrated medical and elderly care, the establishment of age-friendly medical institutions, and the development of geriatric medicine, achieving positive results. She expressed willingness to strengthen exchanges with other countries and share innovative experiences. This comprehensive, person-centred model is designed to identify early signs of decline in intrinsic capacity, enabling timely interventions to mitigate, halt, or reverse frailty and dependence in older individuals. Shreveport counseling service to pay millions in Medicaid fraud case

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A counseling service in Shreveport has agreed to pay millions to settle a Medicaid fraud lawsuit. Community Health Care Solutions, LLC along with the estate of its deceased owner and operator, Yolanda Burnom, will pay $4.6 million. According to the office of United States Attorney Alexander Van Hook, Community Health will pay the amount to resolve allegations that they submitted claims to Medicaid for reimbursement for services that were not actually provided. An investigation revealed that Community Health allegedly created a scheme to defraud the Medicaid program by offering financial incentives to Medicaid recipients in exchange for their patient information. Burnom and her employees would then use the information to bill Medicaid for crisis intervention services that did not occur. In many cases, counselors working for Community Health never met the patients or provided any services at all. Burnom was indicted by a federal grand jury in 2022, but passed away unexpectedly four months later. As a result, civil litigation became the only way for the U.S. to recover the money. 'This type of fraud will not be tolerated, and we will continue to work with our federal and state partners to root out corruption and recover money for the taxpayers,' stated Acting United States Attorney Alexander C. Van Hook. 'Providers who take advantage of the Medicaid program deprive other citizens of needed medical services.' Louisiana Attorney General thanked her office and federal partners for their hard work and said people who commit Medicaid fraud will be caught, prosecuted, and demanded to pay restitution.
