Karen Byrne and Jake Carter step out to launch this year's Retro Cannonball
Dancing with the Stars judge Karen Byrne has stepped out with her fiance Jake Carter to launch Retro Cannonball. The couple – who got engaged in March – are hoping to raise vital funds for the Jack and Jill Foundation at the annual car event. Retro Cannonball will feature 100 classic cars and free family live entertainment as the convoy travels from Little Island, Cork and then coming up through Tipperary, Offaly, Westmeath, Tyrone and finishing at The Cooley Peninsula in Co Louth. Speaking at the launch, Jake and Karen said: "Family is so important to us both and when we were approached by Jack and Jill to help announce its partnership with RETRO Cannonball, it was a no-brainer. "RETRO Cannonball is such a brilliant event, and a true celebration of rare and classic cars that will thrill the whole family. "We hope that people will be inspired to get out onto the high-roads and by-roads along the route to check out this incredible spectacle. "And most importantly, if they have a few euro to spare, please donate it to Jack and Jill, because you'll be making a meaningful difference for families who so rely on Jack and Jill to keep the show on the road at home." The event is hoping to raise money for the children's charity, to bring awareness to its vital in-home nursing and respite care service, which help over 400 families across Ireland. Cannonball has already raised €1,946,432 for Irish children's charities. The event features cars from the 60s, 70s, 80s & 90s from vintage Mustangs to sleek Corvettes, as well as Lamborghini Diablo, Jaguar E-Type, Ferrari 348 GTS, Mercedes-Benz SL Classics and Porsche 911 Carrera. On Friday June 13, the classic convoy will depart from the Radisson Blu Hotel in Little Island, Cork at 10.30am and then roll through the picturesque landscapes of Cork, Tipperary, Offaly and Westmeath stopping for lunch along the way in Kilshane House in Tipperary followed by a coffee stop in Kinnitty Castle in Offaly and the first overnight stay and finish line at The Sheraton Hotel in Athlone. On day two, the convoy travels through Westmeath and on to Tyrone. Cannonballers will have lunch at Corick House in Tyrone before crossing on the ferry from Greencastle to Greenore. The second overnight stay and overall finish line is coming to the Cooley Peninsula for the first time and takes place at Ballymascanlon House just 20 minutes from Carlingford.

Treat in store for Louth car fans as Retro Canonball rolls into the Cooley peninsula
Cannonball has already raised €1,946,432 for Irish children's charities and this year are raising funds for the Jack and Jill Children's Foundation. An impressive convoy of a 100 classic cars from the 60's, 70's, 80's & 90's including vintage Mustangs and Corvettes, will make its way from Little Island in Co Cork on Friday June 13, and travel northwards, finishing up in the Cooley peninsula on Sunday June 15. The Convoy will be taking the ferry crossing from Greencastle to Greenore with a quick regroup at Lily Finnegans and then on to the beautiful Cooley Peninsula for an exciting finish line at Ballymasconlon Hotel. Spectators and families in Co Louth can get up close, see some rare classic cars, take photographs, meet the drivers and enjoy the timeless allure of vintage automobiles at Ballymascanlon Hotel at 6pm for the overall finish line of the event. The classic car convoy will include rare cars such as the Lamborghini Diablo, Jaguar E-Type, Ferrari 348 GTS, Mercedes-Benz SL Classics, Lancia Beta, BMW 635CSI, Porsche 911 Carrera and Targa, MG Midget, Ford Escort Cosworth, Chevrolet Corvette, VW Beetle, Ford Thunderbird, mini cooper and many more. Spectators can get up close, view the cars and take photographs at each of the start and finish lines, pitstops and lunch stops. 'We are welcoming cars from the golden era of the 60's,70's, 80's and early 90's to take in stunning drives and many famous Irish landmarks.' said Cannonball founder Alan Bannon 'Classic cars not only appeal to car lovers, but also to lovers of engineering, design, art and history. Corvette quintet stopped for speeding in Santa Cruz, CHP says
(KRON) — Four Corvettes, five Corvettes, stopped Corvettes, five tickets. Five Corvettes were stopped for speeding on Highway 1 in Santa Cruz at 1:55 p.m. Saturday, the California Highway Patrol stated on social media. According to one of the tickets given by the officer, the drivers were going faster than 70 mph. Dozens of Scouts lay 6,000 flags across graves of United States Veterans in Appleton ahead of Memorial Day
APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – Ahead of Memorial Day, local Scouts gathered in Appleton to lay American Flags across thousands of veterans' graves. Over 50 Scouts helped during the process, as about 6,000 United States flags were laid in memory of those who paid the ultimate price. Corvettes of the Bay honors fallen heroes ahead of Memorial Day The event was held at the Appleton Highland Memorial Park Cemetery from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Memorial Day is on Monday, May 26, as the nation pays homage to the sacrifice of those who served. This year's Charles Schwab Challenge champ wins the perfect fishing getaway vehicle FORT WORTH, Texas — On top of a healthy paycheck, one of the perks of winning the Charles Schwab Challenge, this week's PGA Tour event, is a custom-designed vehicle, one that sits all week just off the 10th tee box at Colonial Country Club, teasing players as they walk by after the turn. Winners of the recent Texas event have driven off the premises with Challengers, Corvettes and Power Wagons. One winner, Kevin Na, was nice enough to give his away to his caddie. In 2024, champion Davis Riley took off with a Corvette Stingray. What's this year's prize? A souped-up Chevy-powered Defender that comes complete with L.L. Bean fly rods and custom mounts. "To have both of them side-by-side would be pretty special. The Charles Schwab has that iconic baby blue, so it's really cool,' Riley said.
