Man arrested as gardaí seize cocaine worth €140,000 in Limerick City

A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene A man (30s) has been arrested as Gardaí seized approximately €140,000 in suspected cocaine in Limerick city this afternoon. As part of ongoing investigations targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Limerick area, Gardaí from the Divisional Drugs Unit in conjunction with a number of Regional Units executed a search warrant at a residence in the Englishtown area of the city shortly after 3:00pm. In the course of the search, Gardaí discovered and seized approximately 2kg of cocaine with an estimated street value of €140,000 (pending analysis). A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene for an offence contrary to Section 15 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1977/84 and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at a Garda Station in the Southern Region. The drugs seized will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis. Investigations are ongoing.

A man has been arrested after Gardaí seized €140,000 worth of cocaine in a Limerick house raid. As part of ongoing investigations targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Limerick area, Gardaí from the Divisional Drugs Unit in conjunction with a number of Regional Units executed a search warrant at a residence in the Englishtown area of the city shortly after 3pm on Tuesday. In the course of the search, Gardaí discovered and seized approximately two kilos of cocaine with an estimated street value of €140,000, pending analysis. The drugs seized will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis. A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene for an offence contrary to Section 15 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1977/84 and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at a Garda Station in the Southern Region. Gardaí confirmed that investigations are ongoing following the seizure. A Garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí in Limerick seized approximately €140,000 in suspected cocaine and arrested a man following a search at a premises in Limerick city this afternoon, Tuesday, 20 May."

Man charged after €1.8m cannabis seizure in Co Louth

A man has been charged in relation to a €1.8m cannabis seizure in Co Louth. As part of an intelligence-led operation, Revenue officers seized approximately 90kg of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €1.8m in Co Louth on Sunday. This seizure was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by Revenue's Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and the Louth Divisional Drugs Unit. Gardaí arrested one man, in his 50s, who was detained at a garda station in Co Louth under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996. Two men arrested after psychoactive substances and cannabis worth €150k seized

Gardaí have arrested two men after seizing psychoactive substances and cannabis totalling €150,000. Gardaí from the Kerry Divisional Drugs Unit conducted a number of searches at commercial premises in Tralee, Listowel, Killarney and Killorgin, Co. Kerry on Wednesday, May 7 as part of ongoing operations targeting the sale and supply of drugs. During the operation, psychoactive substances, cannabis edibles, cannabis vapes and cannabis to the value of €150,000 have been seized. The seized drugs will be sent for analysis to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI). Two men in their 50s have been arrested and conveyed to Garda Stations in County Kerry. They are currently being detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996. A Garda spokesperson said that investigations are ongoing. This seizure forms part of Operation Tara; an enhanced national anti-drugs strategy, which was launched by Garda Commissioner Drew Harris on July 2, 2021. The focus of Operation Tara is to disrupt, dismantle and prosecute drug trafficking networks, at all levels - international, national, local - involved in the importation, distribution, cultivation, production, local sale and supply of controlled drugs.
