Controversial ad for a ‘beef fat' sunscreen has people shaking their heads: ‘For skin as healthy as a McDonald's fry'

A photo of a billboard for a beef-tallow sunscreen by a brand called Primally Pure has people doing a double-take. Along with a photo of the product, the ad reads, 'Poison-free SPF with tallow. Next to that ad, there is a photo of a blonde woman under text that reads: 'The sun isn't poison but your sunscreen is.' Shared to X (formerly Twitter) @PeterHamby posted a photo of the controversial ad along with text that joked, 'babes you're poisoning your face try this rendered beef fat instead.' Advertisement And of course, when people saw this Tweet — which has almost 18,000 views — jokes were made. 'For skin as healthy as a McDonald's french fry,' read one Tweet. Advertisement 'My great grandfather (a farmer) slathered his arms with bacon grease, thinking it would help him to keep from sunburning. Nope, it just made him extra crispy!' another person pointed out. 'Lewis Black had a bit about how we should use Crisco instead of sunscreen, because it's cheaper and 'when you start to sizzle, you move your ass,'' Same principle,' someone else quipped. According to their site, the brand promises that its SPF products are free of seed oils, fragrance, chemicals — and that it's made with grass-fed tallow, which is technically the fat derived from the kidneys and loins of cows that eat a grass-fed diet. Advertisement The brand's SPF is made with grass-fed tallow, which is technically the fat derived from the kidneys and loins of cows that eat a grass-fed diet. Primally Pure The company declares that 'tallow is biocompatible with skin for deeper moisture and nourishment.' And this isn't the first time these tallow claims have been made. There is a lot of confusion surrounding sunscreens and what's safe or not. sosiukin – Advertisement Late last year, when people on social media were slathering their bodies in the animal fat to not only give them glowy skin but also to soothe bug bites, rashes and burns — experts were skeptical about it. 'I give it a thumbs down from the scientific and dermatologic perspective,' Dr. Zakia Rahman, a clinical professor of dermatology at the Stanford University School of Medicine, told the New York Times. 'It could potentially cause acne flares or cause irritation.' And before you read too much into this ad, believing that you need to throw out the sunscreen you're using because it's not safe or effective — board-certified dermatologist, Dr. Shereene Idriss, wants you to be cautious of this claim. In an Instagram reel, the expert cleared the air on this supposed myth, saying, 'The danger is not what's in your sunscreen but the misinformation that's stopping you from using it. Just wear the damn sunscreen.' When it comes down to it, there doesn't seem to be enough data on how effective tallow SPF is just yet — so continue to wear whatever sunscreen is accessible to you and stay out of the sun during peak hours, which is typically between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Virginia man sentenced for setting car on fire at US Capitol

WASHINGTON () — A Lorton, Va. man was sentenced Friday after he set his car ablaze at the U.S. Capitol as former President Jimmy Carter lay in state. According to court documents, the U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) began investigating a vehicle fire on the U.S. Capitol grounds at around 5 p.m. on Jan. 8. At the time, Carter was lying in state at the Capitol Rotunda, and numerous government officials were visiting. PREVIOUS COVERAGE: US Capitol Police arrest man for trying to light car on fire Adrian J. Hinton, 36, had driven his car from Virginia to Washington, D.C. earlier that day, parking near the memorial to Ulysses S. Grant. He then removed a bottle, dumped liquid on the top of his car and ignited it, setting the vehicle on fire. Hinton told responding USCP officers that the liquid was gasoline and Crisco. He was taken into custody quickly after the fire started and apologised for inconveniencing the USCP, according to court documents. He reportedly said he was not trying to set himself on fire, but only set his car ablaze to protest the recent presidential election. The fire department was able to safely extinguish the fire and other officials, including bomb technicians, rendered the scene safe. Woodbridge woman charged after driving while intoxicated with young children, police say He pleaded guilty to destruction of government property on Jan. 31, just weeks after the incident. Grandma's Kitchen classes share and pass on family recipes and culinary tips

PITTSBURGH - The best recipes - or at least the ones that make us feel all warm and cozy inside - are often the ones we grew up with. There's something special about dishes that have been handed down from grandparent to parent to child and made time and again. And if each succeeding generation of cooks tweaks the instructions or modifies the list of ingredients along the way, it probably only makes it better. Any time I want to remember my nana, I only have to reach for the age-old banana bread recipe she gave me years ago. Its use of Crisco instead of butter might raise some eyebrows among modern bakers, but, for me, it cements both a place (Oil City) and time (the 1940s, when her neighbor, 'Aunt Hattie,' first shared it) I'll always associate with her. Barb Knezovich, a self-taught cook and longtime lab technician at UPMC McKeesport, feels much the same way. Raised in Elizabeth Township's Greenock neighborhood by an Italian mother and Lebanese father, 'I was infused with my culture in the kitchen' as a child, she says. She became such a good cook as an adult - 'Betty Crocker had a lot to do with it,' she quips - that she taught non-credit cooking classes at Community College of Allegheny County when her three children were little. She also ran a small cooking school called Cooking with Barbara in her McKeesport, Pennsylvania, home in the early 2000s. So little surprise that, on a recent Friday, she was leading a class on Italian cooking at Carnegie Library of McKeesport. The monthly program, offered the last Friday of the month, is called Grandma's Kitchen. It shines a light on treasured family recipes by featuring tried-and-true cooking tips and recipes from local residents, many of the whom - like Knezovich - also happen to be grandmas. (She's blessed with nine grandchildren.) Despite the spring chill outside, the mood inside the library was light, the 10 women in attendance joking with Knezovich as she set out her ingredients on a folding table in the children's room on the lower level. She started a demo of two dishes: a bean and tomato salad with a tangy honey vinaigrette and a mushroom-infused eggplant sauce for pasta. 'I don't like to say they're healthy, but more on the healthy side,' she cautioned as she picked up an eggplant to peel. Shooting a smile, she added, 'And if anyone wants to help, they can do that!' While no one took her up on her offer, the exchange between teacher and students was light and comfortable. As she chopped, stirred and sauteed, Knezovich explained which ingredients worked best for the recipes. 'Plain old' white button mushrooms are OK in the sauce, she told them, and so are canned tomatoes - even though she was using ones she grew and canned last summer. 'If this was my mother, she'd have her hand in there, squeezing the tomatoes,' Knezovich joked as she poured the veggies into the electric frying pan. She didn't mince words on which ingredients to avoid. 'You want to use fresh garlic instead of jarred,' she advised. 'And don't soak the mushrooms in water because they'll soak it up.' The hourlong demo also included side discussions on the merits of air fryers and Instant Pots, how to grow herbs and whether you can make tabouleh with flat-leaf Italian parsley instead of curly. (The answer is yes, and some say the flavor will be better.) Knezovich says she was drawn to the program, which has been running for the better part of a decade, because she came to the library as a child and appreciated the good work done by adult program and outreach coordinator Mary Rose Bendel, who also grew up in McKeesport. 'It's about community,' she said. 'We get to talk to each other and not sit at home. 'And these women love to participate,' she added. 'This is a nice library.' Another plus: Everyone gets to help themselves after the demonstration for a casual lunch. Linda Cuadrado attended for the first time last month because she's known Barb 'forever' and was intrigued by the menu. Her sister, Donna Chancio, who has been to four over the years, also loves that the classes explore so many different nationalities. 'We knew Barb would cook something special,' Chancio said. 'And we just like to know what people are cooking,' even if they might not cook it themselves at home. Their good friend Darlene Allen has been to at least six Grandma's Kitchen demos. 'We just hang out and have fun together,' she said. Added Fran Tanney, who 'moved away' to White Oak but still considers McKeesport home, 'I love to eat! And you always learn something.' Bean and Tomato Salad with Honey Vinaigrette PG tested 2 15-ounce can beans 8 ounces frozen green beans 1 teaspoon salt, divided 1/2 cup minced red onion 1/4 cup cider vinegar 4 teaspoons honey 1 teaspoon canola oil 1/2 teaspoon black pepper 1 pint cherry tomatoes, halves 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, thinly sliced 1 pound tomatoes, sliced Drain and rinse 2 cans of beans. A pack of headrest hooks to bring organizational bliss to the otherwise chaotic domain that is your car. These little gems can hold everything from your purse to those grocery bags that always seem to topple over, leaving a free-for-all of rolling onions and lemons on the floor. These are also perfect for the kiddos' backpacks and sports bags! Promising reviews: "This is the SMARTEST thing I have ever bought! I LOVE THESE HOOKS for putting my purse in the copilot seat, and also to hang shopping bags behind me." — Diego Pineda "This product has been so awesome for helmets and baseball bags this season! It keeps our car organized, and they are super sturdy. I'm sure I'll find many more uses for them, but they definitely were a great find and I'd buy them again!" — Casey Schoening Get it from Amazon for $6.99 (available in 13 colors). 2. A pack of teeth-friendly silicone pouch lids, your sidekick in the battle against messy mealtimes. This little gizmo is equipped with a genius flow-control valve that ensures your eager little self-feeder can dive into their food without turning it into a playful yet messy art project on you, the table, the chair, and themselves. ChooMee is a small biz based in Northern California that specializes in innovative products to solve everyday feeding challenges. Promising review:" It's made my life better. I can hand over a pouch to my screaming 1.5-year-old in the carseat while driving and not worry about puree getting everywhere!" — Puking Kitty Gravy Boat Get a pack of two from Amazon for $9.98 (available in five color combos). 3. A benzene-free I Dew Care "Tap Secret" mattifying powder shampoo if every time you run your hands through your hair it looks like you dipped your fingers in a jar of Crisco. Just sprinkle a bit onto your roots, massage it in, and voilà! Your hair will look *and* smell fresh, and the added volume will give you a confidence boost to tackle the day ahead. Promising review: "I was looking for a dry shampoo that would be easy to use on the go for a trip I was taking. I had no issues taking this through TSA and it was so easy to use on the go. You literally just pat the poof on your scalp and then rub the powder in. I do have black hair so dry shampoo is usually very visible in my hair, but I didn't have any harder time than usual rubbing this powder in. It did a really good job of soaking up all the oil and giving my hair volume. I'm not a fan of the price for the amount that you get, but it is lasting longer than I thought it would. I would definitely recommend and will purchase again." — Teresa Get it from Amazon for $18 (available in six shades and as refills). 4. A ultra-durable duck chew toy made to withstand the powerful jaws of your 6-pound (extremely cute but for some reason destructive) toy poodle. Say goodbye to the days of picking up toy shreds five minutes after giving it to your pup. Promising review:"My dog destroys every stuffed animal he can get his teeth on within five minutes of contact. I never buy stuffed toys anymore so I don't have to constantly clean up the stuffing around my house. I bought this on a whim based on the reviews, but certainly didn't expect it to last. For some reason this duck is different — I'm not sure if it's the longer 'fur' or something else, but he has not even put a hole in it after a couple of weeks. I wouldn't say it's his new companion; he does greet me at the door squeaking it in his mouth, and attempts to get us to chase him to try to retrieve it, but he has not tried to rip it open to remove the squeaker, as is his norm. I'm interested to see how long it will be around!" — charrob For more deets, check out our in-depth Multipet Duckworth dog toy review! Get it from Amazon for $7.19. 5. It's perfect for hot sleepers who love to snuggle but hate waking up sweaty! Promising review: "WHAT KIND OF SORCERY IS THIS??? I have never once felt a blanket that constantly keeps you cool? I am ALWAYS hot, but I love to be under blankets. This is the PERFECT blanket to keep from overheating. It feels like athletic-type material. A must-buy!!!" — Kenzie Get it from Amazon for $29.99+ (available in five sizes and 13 colors). 6. A meat shredder that'll make quick work of the Costco rotisserie chicken you plan on eating for dinner (and the rest of the week). Once your meat is cooked, just place the pieces inside and twist the lid a few times. You'll have perfectly shredded pieces for chicken salad, buffalo chicken dip, pulled pork, or birria tacos — the possibilities are endless! Promising review:"This product is amazing. I used it for my chicken and dumplings recipe. I figured it was another one of a 'too good to be true' items, but this does everything it says it does. I literally shredded two large chicken breasts in seconds, yes SECONDS!! I wish I would've taken a video, but I didn't. It didn't move/slip from the counter and it was perfection! This handy gadget allows you to chop, slice, and julienne your veggies in record time. This chopper also features a built-in storage container to prevent messy countertops. Promising review:" This made my life so much better with chopping onions and other veggies! It's so quick and easy. One tip is to make sure you cut your veggie small enough so that it's easy to push down the handle. Big chunks are a little harder to chop. Please be careful with cleaning; the blades are super sharp." — Tasha Get it from Amazon for $23.99+ (available in four colors and four sizes). 8. The Pink Stuff's new "Sqeezy" set taking their legendary cleaning paste to new heights with the help of a versatile cleaning sponge. Promising review: "The 'abrasive sponge when cold' or 'squishy when hot' is an awesome feature for the type of scrubbing you want to do. The Pink Stuff with the sponge does wonders! We have a hideous 30-year-old shower and although it doesn't look brand-new like I was hoping, it's 10 times better!! This product really does work!" — GreenGoddess Get the set (one Pink Stuff jar and a "Sqeezy") from Amazon for $9.99. 9. Promising review: " My daughter is 4 and plays with these DAILY! YES they do attract dirt and hair HOWEVER they are so easy to rinse off, it's not a big deal! We took these to a family gathering and ended up giving two away because they were SO loved! The two we gave away went to a 12-year-old and my 19-year-old brother. They discovered throwing them at the ceiling fan and watching them shoot across the room which was pretty entertaining! None of these have busted or ripped and they are definitely NOT gentle with them! I will definitely be buying more!" — Heather Hambrick Get a pack of six from Amazon for $10.99 (also available in a pack of 16). 11. A sneaky undetectable mouse jiggler to keep your online status active in Slack or Teams without giving away that you've stepped away for a "extended" bathroom break after that questionable breakfast burrito. LOL" — Pamela Irish "This product is better than sliced bread! My employer switched to Microsoft Teams, which goes into an idle status after five minutes. You can be seated in front of your laptop working, but if you don't move the darn mouse every four minutes, you show as inactive. The biggest pain in the butt ever! This product works! I laid my mouse on it, and I was never in an idle status unless I put myself in one. I'm a huge fan! And it doesn't hurt that it is pretty as well as functional. New parents, don't panic. Cradle cap — aka seborrheic dermatitis — is a very common dry scalp condition that affects infants. Promising review:"This cradle cap brush is a game changer! For more info on how to use acupressure for nausea management, check out this guide from the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Promising review:"I have gotten car sickness for as long as I can remember, even as a child. I am 40 now. I was recently asked to go on a road trip which included day travel, busy city and mountains. (Sun, stop-and-go traffic, and winding roads are all triggers for sickness). I hesitated. It was then recommended by a family member to try these. With hesitation, I bought them and wore them the entire time. I did not feel nauseous ONE time. My boyfriend even pointed out on the way home that I was on my phone and not sick. (Reading anything while riding has ALWAYS been a no go!) I was able to look out the window and enjoy the scenery (typically I can only look at the road as looking outside the window makes me sick). These will literally change my life as I can now enjoy traveling by car!!" — Sarah Martinez Get a pair from Amazon for $8.53 (available in six colors). 23. The cult-fave Cosrx Snail Mucin Power Essence formulated with 96.3% snail secretion, which is perfectly lightweight and hydrating for all skin types. This essence leaves a nice glow and keeps skin visibly smooth after a few uses — so you're getting expensive-looking *results* without the hefty bill of name-brand moisturizers. Promising review: "My skin dries out severely during the winter all the time, and I have to constantly use Vaseline to keep it moisturized (normal cream doesn't work on me). Imagine my surprise when my SO tried to put snail goo on me, eww!! I resisted for weeks refusing to use this product as she constantly vouched for its abilities. After a month I finally gave in, and boy it is amazing! My hands feel more moisturized than ever for longer and it doesn't leave a disgusting greasy feel as Vaseline. Take it from a once non-believer, you have to try this. Even if it doesn't work for you, you paid a fraction of what you would've paid for any other name-brand moisturizers." — Kyoko Ozaki Get it from Amazon for $20. 24. The internet-famous Revlon oil-absorbing volcanic face roller if your skin creates more oil than a KFC. This roller removes excess shine from your face WITHOUT disturbing your makeup. It's also super portable so you can just toss it in your bag, and you don't have to be seen awkwardly patting your face with blotting papers in the middle of the day. 🙅🏽‍♀️ Promising review:"First off, if you have extremely oily skin, this. is. it. I was so tired of getting blotting powder/wipes. It felt wasteful and always left residue on my face. I saw this on tiktok and NEEDED it. It was back ordered but then I got an email saying it was in stock and I was SO excited. Not only is it affordable, but it's washable which helps you save money and be less wasteful. The packaging wasn't over the top exciting, but it provided you all the info you needed. (It felt like the holy grail had been delivered to my front doorstep.) After my first use, I was in love. Now, it doesn't pickup everything but it does make it more matte and gives you a natural look. I am so excited this product exists and I already feel more confident." — Kelsey B. Get it from Amazon for $7.50. 25. An attachable aerator that'll allow you to taste all the flavors you may have been missing out on in your glass of wine. It can make a $10 bottle taste like an expensive $100 blend. This attachable aerator deposits oxygen into your wine, which improves taste and allows aromas to EXPAND. Promising review:"I bought this for my Dad who really likes his wine. He didn't think it would do much to the taste of the wine so I had him try some cheapish wine without this aerator and then had him try it with the aerator and the taste was like night and day. He's tried it on some of his better wine and while it does change the taste a little, it wasn't as drastic as the improvement on the cheaper wine." — Kayson Get it from Amazon for $17.99. 26. A collagen-coating hair treatment for transforming brittle, frizzy hair into a cascade of softness. This hair mask is infused with collagen and protein extracts — after applying to wet hair and sitting for only five minutes, your hair will be completely transformed. Reviewers with everything from thin, fine hair to 4c curls have reported positive results from this moisturizing formula, which is particularly recommended for folks whose hair is damaged from using hot tools, bleach, and the like. Promising reviews:"LOVE it. I was using Olaplex No. 3 for a while, but it's expensive ($30) compared to this item. This does the same thing, and it's less than $10! It left my hair soft and manageable, and I love it. Try it out and you won't regret it!" — AmieeL "My hair used to be really soft, and then I discovered hot tools and hair dye. While my hair looks good, I really missed the soft texture. This works so well. There are no instructions on the box, but I washed my hair with my usual shampoo, towel-dried it, worked about two quarter-size dollops through my hair, let it sit for 20 minutes, and then rinsed out. I went to bed with wet hair, which usually results in my hair being kind of tangled and rough-looking, but I woke up and my hair was as soft and silky as it was before I started coloring it. I'm totally in love with this product. I have long, fine hair, but this doesn't leave it greasy or weigh it down. I'll definitely buy again." — Ellie Get it from Amazon for $7.60. 27. The kit includes: three attachments (flathead, extendable, and brush), carry bag, filter brush, and spare HEPA filter. Promising review: "I am a woman who loves a clean car, but with this virus, I can't take my car in to have it cleaned anymore, so now it's up to me, and I hate to clean the inside of my car. I hate taking my large vacuum out to the car, pulling it this way and that, just trying to do a good job. When I came across this wonderful little vacuum, I ordered it. I love it. First it is little and light, but don't let that fool you. It cleans my car in no time, and with that 16-foot cable, I could also clean my trunk without a bit of trouble. Don't get me wrong, I still don't like to clean my car, but I don't hate it anymore. Promising review: "So I'll admit I got this on a whim after a TikTok video, however I'm in love with this thing! It's so much fun to use and you make your at home drinks feel so much more special. This soft, moisture-wicking material will prevent sweaty nights so you can still have a good night's sleep without waking up in a puddle of sweat in the morning. Promising review: "My favorite sheets have to be Cozy Earth. But they are way too pricey for a guest bed. These sheets are just as good without the huge price tag. Side by side comparison to these vs expensive brands like Cozy Earth or Peacock Alley — these sheets are thinner and deeper, which actually fit better on our deep mattress with a 3-inch topper, these sheets are just as cool feeling as the higher-end ones when you get in bed. They wash well. Actually better than [the] Peacock Alley brand. They hardly wrinkle. And even after months of use, they are still in great shape. They haven't started to peel yet or fray. No loose threads or tears. Great sheets!" — Susan Get it from Amazon for $29.97+ (available in sizes twin–California king, plus sets with deep pockets for taller mattresses and 45 colors/patterns). 32. Amazon BuzzFeed Shopping editor Maitland Quitmeyer says: "This is my go-to satin pillowcase. I have two Slip pillowcases, and several of these, and actually the Bedsure ones wash up much nicer and retain an incredibly silky smooth feel after dozens of trips through the laundry. They're the only ones I'll buy going forward, and I recommended them to my mom and now she's in love with them too!" Promising review:"My hair has never been better! I got this because of TikTok and it has done wonders for my hair. My hair isn't frizzy or dull looking when I get up in the morning." — Aaron Key Get it from Amazon for $9.99+ for a set of two (available in four sizes and 39 colors). 33. I can never — I mean NEVER — find jeans that fit me. These are the right length. They fit my hips. They don't gap at my waist. And this inner tummy slimming panel? Oh sweet baby cheezus YES. These jeans make me look even better than I did before I grew another human being. Literally ditching every other pair of jeans I have and stocking my entire wardrobe with these." — S. Whitney Get them from Amazon for $29.99 (available in sizes 2–28, including short, medium, and long sizes, and in 21 washes). 34. A high-voltage bug zapper ridding your yard of mosquitoes, gnats, and flies (oh my!) in an impressive half-acre range, making your outdoor gatherings more enjoyable and hassle-free. Promising review:"I live in the woods. Gnats have been awful this spring. I sprayed my entire property with commercial-grade insecticide, but it doesn't work well for gnats. So I got these zappers out of desperation. I had read that they mostly kill non-biting insects. I have found that to be false. Every morning, when I empty my zappers, I find what appears to be thousands(!) of dead gnats, along with a few moths and beetles. After three nights, there are very few gnats flying around." — Buck Austin Get it from Amazon for $39.99. 35. A long-handled standing weeder to make pulling out intrusive weeds a breeze, giving your beloved plants all the space and nutrients they need to thrive without breaking a sweat (or a knee). Amazon Made with a bamboo handle and powder-coated steel, it uses a simple lever system to made weeding easy. Grampa's Gardenware Co. is a small, family-owned business based in Oregon making tools for gardening. They've been making this tool since 1913! Promising review:"I love gardening but I'm getting older now and weeding is backbreaking work…until I bought this product. It works like a charm, it grabs onto the rootstock and you simply leverage it out of the ground, root and all. The other end of the lever works well too, like the claw of a hammer; it grabs onto smaller weeds and lifts them out of the ground. Now I can weed a large area in less than half the time without breaking my back. 👍" — Michael D. Kutras Get it from Amazon for $39.97. Reviews have been edited for length and/or clarity.

The FDA Says Water Can Be Labeled as 'Healthy'

In December 2024, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released its final guidelines for what foods can be labeled as "healthy" in American grocery stores. The new rule, which is the FDA's first substantial update to healthy labeling requirements since 1994, sets stricter limits on added sugars—the 1994 rule had no limit on sugar (added or natural)—and sodium. It also removes caps on total fat (but not saturated fat). With these limits in place, the FDA has deemed that foods such as salmon, avocados, olive oil, and water—yes, water—can now be branded "healthy" in grocery stores. (Breathe a sigh of relief, millennials and Gen Z. The government has said your avocado toast is healthy, so long as you use the right bread.) These foods being deemed healthy should come as a shock to no one. Since 2002, the American Heart Association has recommended that Americans eat salmon and other fish rich in omega-3s at least once per week. The Mediterranean diet, which is low in sugary, processed foods and rich in healthy fats such as olive oil and avocados, has been ranked the healthiest in the world for nearly a decade and is linked to longer lifespans in women. As for water, do consumers really need to be told it's healthy? The FDA has long tried to play the role of dietician, to the detriment of public health. In the 1970s and 1980s, concerns over natural saturated fat from butter caused the widespread adoption of Crisco and margarine, which at the time were high in artificial trans fats from partially hydrogenated oils. Studies in the 1990s linked these artificial trans fats to heart disease and health groups began communicating their health consequences to the public in the early 2000s. Still, it took until 2015 for the FDA to remove the "generally recognized as safe" label from these foods. Until this new rule, sugary breakfast cereals and toaster pastries could be packaged as healthy if they met the criteria for other nutritional factors such as fat, cholesterol, and fiber. With consumers and health groups generally agreeing on what's healthy—a diet rich in whole foods and minimally processed ingredients—it's strange that the FDA feels the need to weigh in on the issue at all. The irrelevancy of the rule is further demonstrated by the agency's admission that only "a small number (0 to 0.4 percent)" of people who claim to follow current dietary guidelines "would use the 'healthy' implied nutrient content claim." American consumers don't need federal bureaucrats spending taxpayer dollars to define what common knowledge already tells us. Salmon, avocados, and water don't need a government stamp of approval to be recognized as healthy. The FDA, if it exists at all, should focus on meaningful priorities such as food safety and transparency, leaving individuals to make their own informed dietary choices.
