Liverpool are BIG admirers of €30m-rated Spanish jewel

Liverpool are facing uncertainty in the centre-back position. Although Virgil van Dijk has been secured to a contract until 2027, his defensive colleagues are not so sure of their futures. Ibrahima Konate is out of contract in 2026 and so far no breakthrough has been reached in talks over a new deal. If sporting director Richard Hughes doesn't succeed in tying him down then the Frenchman could well be sold this summer. Advertisement Also up for debate are Jarell Quansah and Joe Gomez. Quansah, 22, could be sacrificed if the club manage to attract a decent fee while Gomez might well be sold having come close to joining either Aston Villa or Newcastle last year. If any of those three leaves then it opens a vacancy in the centre of Liverpool's defence. We've seen Jorrel Hato linked, along with Jarrad Branthwaite and others but there is another name now on the list and one which will be familiar to incoming Reds goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili. Liverpool like Cristhian Mosquera Cristhian Mosquera, 20, was outstanding for Valencia in LaLiga last season. The Spanish defender played 37 times for Los Che - ranking highly on FOTMOB for tackles won, duels won, interceptions and recoveries. Advertisement Mosquera has a contract which expires at the Mestalla in 2026 and this summer the club could be prepared to listen to transfer offers for their homegrown star. And now according to a new report on Caught Offside, Liverpool are tracking the youngster - although he could end up at RB Leipzig as a stepping stone before going to the Premier League. 'Liverpool are big admirers of Mosquera, who is also on Chelsea's radar and whose asking price would be in the region of €30m,' a report reads. Mosquera likely to go to Leipzig 'Tottenham, Crystal Palace and West Ham have also been monitoring Mosquera, but it's currently felt that he's leaning towards a move to RB Leipzig. Advertisement 'The player and his representatives feel he could be best served by a move to the Bundesliga before perhaps joining a top English club later.' Leipzig have successfully offloaded players like Konate, Naby Keita and Dominik Szoboszlai to the Reds over the years and if Mosquera follows suit then in the years ahead they could be back once again.

RB Leipzig ‘optimistic' in finalising Cristhian Mosquera transfer

RB Leipzig are in discussions with Valencia to find an agreement to sign Cristhian Mosquera, according to Philipp Hinze. Even without European football, the Bundesliga side are ready to invest over €20m to sign the defender and are 'optimistic' in finalising a deal. There's already a verbal agreement between Leipzig and Mosquera, who has attracted interest from other clubs. The 20-year-old remains high on the priority list for the Saxons as they seek to rebuild this summer and get back into the Champions League. Advertisement Mosquera played in all but one La Liga game for Valencia last season and would join Leipzig with plenty of experience having featured 90 times for the Spanish side at such a young age. Signing Mosquera should have no affect on Castello Lukeba's situation at Leipzig with the French defender attracting interest from Liverpool despite only extending his contract in October 2024. If the Lyon native is sold in the summer, he will be the joint most expensive transfer in Leipzig's history equalling the fee Leipzig received for Joško Gvardiol when he joined Manchester City in 2023. PSG shortlist Valencia's Cristhian Mosquera and Club Brugge's Joel Ordóñez

According to a report from Foot Mercato, Paris Saint-Germain are looking to strengthen their options in defence over the summer, and have shortlisted Club Brugge's Joel Ordóñez (21) and Valencia's Cristhian Mosquera (20). PSG are thought to be keen to bolster their centre-back choices with the club reportedly open to selling captain Marquinhos this summer, while Presnel Kimpembe and Lucas Beraldo are unlikely to step into the void left by the former AS Roma man. Kimpembe has struggled with injuries this season and has only made five appearances across all competitions. Beraldo is valued by Luis Enrique, has never looked as if he will perform a bigger role than as a useful back-up option. With this in mind, PSG could turn to the market. Foot Mercato writes that Ordóñez, an international teammate of Willian Pacho, could be plucked from Belgium for €25-30 million, while Valencia might be willing to part with their player so that they can reinvest this summer. Roma set sights on Valencia's Cristhian Mosquera

Roma set sights on Valencia's Cristhian Mosquera Roma have reportedly turned their attention to a promising defender in La Liga. The club is already planning its next market moves, especially in the event that Mats Hummels and Evan Ndicka's departures materialize at the end of the season. Advertisement Among the profiles being evaluated to strengthen the defense, Cristhian Mosquera is the latest name linked to the Giallorossi. According to Spanish portal Tribuna Deportiva, Roma have already started the first contacts with the young Spanish-Colombian defender. But, once an agreement has been reached with the player, it will be necessary to negotiate with Valencia, who do not intend to give up easily. Although Mosquera has requested the inclusion of a 20 million euro release clause in his contract, the Spanish club values his pricetag at 40 million.

Valencia snubbed €5m striker offer during winter transfer window

It's no secret that Valencia have serious financial problems, and this has often meant that they have had to sell their best players. It is a trend that look like it will continue this summer with Cristhian Mosquera, and it turns out that Los Che could also have lost another key performer during the winter transfer window. It has been a tough season for Valencia, who currently occupy the final place in the La Liga relegation zone – although they are only behind Las Palmas on goal difference, while Leganes are a further point ahead. Realistically, they could not afford to lose any key players in January as it would have affected their ability to avoid the drop to Segunda, so it was fortunate that no one left aside from German Valera, who was out of favour anyway. However, Hugo Duro could have been on his way, as it has been reported by Hector Gomez (via ED), that Como, who are managed by former Barcelona and Spain midfielder Cesc Fabregas, tried to sign the striker. €5m was the offer that Valencia received from Como, and it was swiftly turned down – not only because the figure was significantly lower than Los Che's asking price, but also because the club were in no mood to sell their star striker, who has scored seven goals in La Liga so far this season. In the end, it was only one offer that Como submitted for Duro, as they moved on to Celta's Greek striker Tasos Douvikas, who would end up moving to the Serie A side during the final days of the winter transfer window. It will be interesting to see whether Como return for Duro in the summer – or whether any other clubs do, for that matter. Valencia will hope to retain his services for as long as possible, although they will have an asking price in mind for a possible sale, which is understandable given their financial problems.
