Crumbl Cookies sued for nearly $24 million; here's why

(WHTM) — Crumbl Cookies is currently facing a nearly $24 million lawsuit for alleged copyright infringement of artists' music on social media. According to the lawsuit, Warner Music Group, which owns several media giants including Atlantic Records, Elektra Entertainment Group, and more, is suing Crumbl Cookies for several instances of alleged copyright infringement. The lawsuit states that the cookie giant has 'achieved its success by infringing Plaintiffs' copyrighted sound recordings and musical compositions on a massive scale in promotional content posted on social media platforms.' Specifically, the lawsuit cites at least 159 instances of Crumbl Cookies using copyrighted sounds in various social media posts, most notably on TikTok and Instagram. The lawsuit says artists who produced music later used on social media by Crumbl Cookies include Dua Lipa, Bruno Mars, Lizzo, Taylor Swift, Mariah Carey, Ariana Grande, and Beyoncé. In response to the lawsuit, Crumbl Cookies gave the following statement: 'Crumbl is aware of the legal action initiated by Warner Music Group and is actively reviewing the matter. St. Patrick's Day celebrations wrap up around Erie

With St. Patrick's Day falling on a Monday, the celebration of all things Irish began on Friday and did not slow down. It's already been a long weekend of celebrating Saint Paddy's Day and local pubs are stayed open for one last hoorah Monday night. Monday may not be the most ideal day to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day, but for the people of Erie, the party goes on. 'The vibes are so good, you're just hanging out with one another, having a good day,' said Caitlin Scutella, an Erie resident. Crumbl Cookies set to arrive with Erie location this year 'Even if you're not Irish, you are today, we welcome you as much as you please,' said Nick Viselli, Erie resident. 'I've had multiple people come up and tell me 'Happy Leprechaun Day,' and it's just super fun,' said Casaday Smochek, Erie resident. Over at the Rathskellar Cafe on State Street, the party started as early as 9 a.m. with the holiday's signature green beer, dancing, and live music from local artist Matt Gavula. 'I came out, I heard matt was going to be playing. Matt's a real good friend of mine and I just wanted to come out and celebrate saint pats with him,' said Joe Parker, an Erie resident. Crowds line up early to celebrate St. Patrick's Day at Erie bars 'We started planning this out 6 months ago. We tried to bring in the entertainers that were going to bring in the people, and it was a good turnout, especially on Saturday night, at 9 o'clock we probably had about 100 people in the bar,' said John Carneval, Rathskellar Cafe manager. Now the fun didn't end there, over at U Pick 6 Public House the Harp Lager and Guinness were flowing, and they're being poured the right way. 'It's a two-part pour. We tilt that at about a 45 degree angle, let that pour until about three quarters way full, then we put that there and let it settle,' said John Melody, owner of U Pick 6 Public House. 'So, that's pretty much settle right now, so we'll top that off,' he continued. 'When that pint gets delivered to your table, just keep an eye on it for another 60 seconds and look forward to drinking it.' New cutting-edge tech helping Erie eye doctors revolutionize treatment 'Now we'll say cheers to you guys, cheers to erie and thanks for making saint patrick's day such a great day… And I split the 'G,'' he demonstrated. Melody moved to Erie from Ireland nearly 40 years ago, and he said our small city packs a punch when it comes to celebrating Saint Paddy's Day. And for all those who celebrate, alway make sure to have a safe way to get home. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. And patrolman Kuhl said despite popular belief, they're not the fun police. 'We just ask that everyone plans ahead, gets themselves a sober driver, a designated driver for the night, calls an Uber, calls a family member. We want everyone to get home safe,' she said.
