WWE legend, 55, gets leg amputated after over 30 surgeries to save limb
Former WWE star Marcus 'Buff' Bagwell has had a leg amputation after years of health struggles following a 2020 car crash. The 55-year-old retired wrestler, who still hopes to get back in the ring again after his operation, has opened up about how he's had over 30 surgeries to try and save his limb over the past five years. Bagwell is a five-time WCW World Tag Team Champion, and spent some time with WWE in 2001. Speaking on his own YouTube channel, Bagwell and his fiance Stacy Brown documented his decision to undergo the procedure, and the aftermath. 'Today we are 12 hours away from being at the hospital. We have to be there at 7:45 tomorrow morning for an above-the-knee amputation. This is the result of a five-year battle trying to save my leg,' he said in the emotional video. In 2020, Bagwell passed out behind the wheel of his car and crashed into a brick wall in Atlanta, Georgia, where he sustained a foot and knee injury, and he admitted now the life altering incident feels like a 'dream'. 'It's strange because when I look back on it, it felt like a dream. I vaguely remember hitting cars, seeing faces, hearing horns, people yelling, and not knowing what I was doing,' he recalled. 'Somehow I ended up behind Cumberland Mall, and that's where it all ended.' Over the following years, he underwent over 30 surgeries, and at one point at 21 in less than two months, while he also battled infections and other complications. 'That suffering pushed me into the darkest addiction I've ever been in,' he admitted. 'Alcohol became my daily escape. I was hiding mini bottles in my pockets. I tried to keep functioning – still going to the gym on a walker – but I was falling apart inside and out.' He checked himself into rehab three years ago, and has been sober ever since, although his leg has not improved. Although further surgeries are an option, he was told by doctors that they would only have a 20% chance of success, particularly as he has no kneecap in that leg. More Trending He decided to undergo the procedure, but Bagwell is trying to focus on the positives. 'And now, as I prepare to lose my leg, I don't feel fear or sadness. I feel peace and joy,' he said. 'Because through this pain, I found sobriety. Losing my leg might've been the rock bottom that saved my life.' Meanwhile, Bagwell confirmed he hopes to wrestle one day in the future. View More » 'I want to get back in the ring, run the ropes, have a match,' he told Maven Huffman on his YouTube channel. 'I'm taking it by the horns and showing that you can have just as good of a life without a leg.' Got a story? Disabled wheelchair-bound son 'told to leave his family's stall in Atlanta mall'
A Metro Atlanta family has claimed their disabled son was kicked out of Cumberland Mall while they were setting up their business table. Demond Crump Sr. says he and his wife were shocked when the mall's general manager allegedly told them their 32-year-old son, who has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair, should leave their vending space. The family had just begun setting up shop after Crump won a small business contest through Morehouse College that secured them a spot to sell at major shopping center during MLB All-Star weekend. 'Can't believe our son was discriminated against at Cumberland Mall. Special needs people can't come to the mall now?' Crump Sr. said in a video he shared on Facebook. 'I was talking to him man-to-man, father-to-father, like "man, this is my son you're speaking of," and there was just no remorse,' he told ANF News. Crump said the incident was abrupt and came out of nowhere without provocation. 'We were setting up [and] we were told that my son couldn't be there with us,' Crump continued. 'You're saying that my son has to leave. And he's like, "Yes," and I'm like, "What is he doing?" 'This is my child. This is my son. He's a human being. At this point, I'm really shocked,' Crump Sr. said. Crump said he confronted the manager directly. 'I come to you with tears in my eyes and I said, "Sir, do you know this is discrimination?"' Crump said. 'He said, "File whatever complaint you want. You guys can leave."' 'If my son can't stay, then we can't stay,' Crump added. 'We are leaving as well.' 'Special needs people can't come to the mall now?' Mall ownership group Brookfield Properties later issued a statement claiming the incident was a 'misunderstanding' and welcome his family back. 'This was a deeply unfortunate situation, and we regret our poor communication that led to this misunderstanding.' 'We have reached out to Mr. Crump and welcome his family to return to our shopping center.' But Crump does not believe it was a misunderstanding and has no plans on returning to the mall. has reached out to the Crump family.

Distressing moment whimpering toddler siblings are rescued from roasting 117f car by hero deputies
Panic-inducing bodycam footage captured the moment Georgia police saved two toddlers from a sweltering car their father allegedly left them in for 40 minutes. The Cobb County Police Department recently released distressing video of the June 4 incident in the parking lot of the Cumberland Mall in Atlanta. Deputies rushed to the scene when a concerned shopper said she noticed two sobbing children, aged one and two years old, in the backseat of an unattended car on the day that saw temperatures as high as 87 degrees Fahrenheit. The windows were slightly open, she told the 911 operator, but it made no difference - as the car's internal temperature had reached 117 degrees. 'I am standing outside the Dick's at Cumberland Mall and there are two children in a car by themselves - small kids crying,' she said. 'The windows are cracked, but I don't think that's right.' One of the toddlers was heard whimpering in the background of the nerve-wracking phone recording, which was shared by the police department. Their father, J'Quawn Dixon, had allegedly gone into the mall at 12:24pm, a security guard told police. By the time officers were notified and arrived at the parked car, it was 1:03pm. The cops said they were greeted by three bystanders gathered around the turned-off car, keeping an eye on the boy and girl while their parent was nowhere to be found, according to the video. Swiftly acting, an officer busted the front window to reach in and unlock the doors to safely get to the terrified and confused siblings. 'Hey buddy,' one of the cops calmly said to the little boy as he unbuckled the child, who's crying seemed to subside. 'It's okay.' He also noted the child felt very warm from sitting in the stifling heat. The police were seen carrying both kids as EMS arrived to take them to the hospital for evaluations. When Dixon returned, he was immediately handcuffed and arrested. He was booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center and charged with two counts of second-degree cruelty to his small children. He is no longer in custody, according to inmate records. The bodycam footage documenting the events that led to Dixon's arrest was released just weeks after California police had to save a child from similar circumstances. The Corona Police department was called on June 17 amid reports of a baby alone in a car with 'the engine off and windows up.' 'When officers arrived on scene, they observed the baby in distress, and breached a window to extricate him,' they said. The footage shows the two officers rushing to the car and not hesitating once they realized the baby was inside. One officer peered inside the front windscreen and returned a moment later with a metal crowbar used to shatter the front driver's side window. The car was then unlocked from the inside and the second officer immediately pulled the tiny baby out of the back seat. A thermometer reading of the car revealed the internal temperature had reached 110 degrees. It is unclear how long the baby was trapped in the car and officers also did not provide any further details about the child's parents. Roughly 37 American children die from being trapped or left to roast in hot cars each year, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). More than half of all hot car deaths are the result of someone forgot their child in the vehicle. About 47 percent of people who forget their kids in the backseat meant to drop them off at school or daycare, NHTSA reported.

Kids left alone in hot car that reached 104 degrees, GA cops say. Man charged
Two children were left alone in a sweltering car outside an Atlanta shopping mall, and now a man is charged, Georgia police said. The man was arrested on two counts of second-degree child cruelty in the June 4 incident at Cumberland Mall, authorities wrote in a criminal warrant obtained by McClatchy News. Attorney information for the man wasn't immediately available. Officers were called to the parking lot just before 1 p.m. after a witness spotted the youngsters in a car by themselves and called 911, WSB-TV reported, citing the Cobb County Sheriff's Office. Authorities said the kids were in the car with no air conditioning for at least 41 minutes. Temperatures in Atlanta reached 80 degrees that day, according to AccuWeather, and authorities said the car's internal temperature hit triple digits. 'An infrared thermometer displayed the temperature of 104 degrees where said victim was sitting in,' according to the affidavit. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advised that cracking a window isn't enough to stay cool in the warmer months, as 'temperatures inside the car can rise almost 20 degrees Fahrenheit within the first 10 minutes.' Authorities didn't give an update on the children's conditions or say if or how they're related to the man who was arrested. McClatchy News reached out to the Cobb County Sheriff's Office for more information June 10 and was awaiting a response. The man was taken to the Cobb County Adult Detention Center and released June 6 after posting an $11,220 bond, online records show.
