Aston Martin Celebrates Summertime Cruising with One-Off DB12 Palm Beach Edition
A drop-top in a warm state like California or Florida is never a bad recipe for a good time. Make that drop-top an Aston Martin, and the good times increase tenfold. The British automaker seems to have taken note of this and recently revealed the one-of-one "Palm Beach Edition DB12 Volante," a special edition of their powerful V8 sports car created in collaboration with Aston Martin's Q division and Aston Martin Palm Beach. "This extraordinary DB12 Volante model perfectly encapsulates the understated elegance of both Palm Beach and Aston Martin," said Pedro Mota, Regional President of Aston Martin The Americas. "Through a collaboration with Q by Aston Martin and Aston Martin Palm Beach, we have created an exceptional sports car that merges stunning performance, artistry, and luxury." The Palm Beach Edition DB12 Volante sports a unique Frosted Glass Blue paint job with ample shimmer in the topcoat to remind you of the sun at your favorite South Florida beachside spot. Word around town is that Aston Martin hand-sprayed the paint onto the car to get the effect, and that's the kind of attention to detail we can't be mad at. The interior carries a matching Aurora Blue scheme with Ivory Leather and contrasting Spicy Red stitching. Here's where it gets better, though. The dash, center console, doors, and seatbacks feature book-matched Linear Light Olive Ash wood trim for that perfect beach cabana vibe anywhere you are in the car. The last few special touches include Palm Beach's latitude and longitude coordinates embossed onto the leather dashboard, as well as a palm-leaf motif spread throughout the cabin. All of this isn't to say that the Aston Martin Palm Beach Edition DB12 Volante is all show and no go. Underneath that gorgeous, long hood is a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 making 671 horsepower through an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. Aston estimates that the DB12 can sprint from zero to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 202 mph, so we'd hold on to our hats if we were you. Yes, we know, the V12 of the DB11 is gone, but hey, at least it's not electric. Aston did not reveal a pricing figure for the bespoke one-off, nor who commissioned it, but given that the regular DB12 Volante starts at $271,825, we'd rather not know its price tag. It's always fun seeing what automakers' bespoke divisions can create for their most distinguished clients. If you want the most opulent vehicle that money can buy, you'll likely go to Rolls-Royce's bespoke department. If you want a sports car with a color that pops, Porsche's Paint-to-Sample program would likely be pretty high on that list. Aston Martin's Q department doesn't often make headlines, but if they keep making cars like the Palm Beach Edition DB12 Volante, we can see how that would easily change. Aston Martin DB12 Volante 'Palm Beach' Is A One-Off Model Celebrating Florida
Aston Martin has revealed a new version of the DB12 Volante developed in collaboration with the British marque's in-house customisation department Q. This iteration of the open-top grand tourer is a one-off model called the 'Palm Beach'. The name fits the description of the car, the area has been associated with some of the richest names, and is considered to be one of the cash-rich localities of Florida. It is to be noted that this unit has been created for an undisclosed client. Unlike most cars of the British manufacturer, the DB12 Volante 'Palm Beach' comes with a unique paint job called 'frosted glass blue', instead of green or the silver paint seen on cars in James Bond movies. To further improve the aesthetics, the car gets a contrasting pinstripe on the front splitters, side sills, and rear bumper. Since the one-off unit had to be special, it gets jet-black diamond-turned wheels. Given that the name is Palm Beach, there must be a connection to it. This connection can be found inside the vehicle, where the latitude and longitude coordinates of Palm Beach are imprinted on the dashboard. As if that weren't enough dedication to the theme, the veneers on the rear seats are diagonally book-matched and feature metal inlays that spell out "Palm Beach." Topping it off, the bespoke nature of the car is further highlighted by interior upgrades like the abstract palm leaf motif, which is sewn into the Aurora Blue and Ivory leather interiors. There are also wood accents with open-pore Linear Light Olive Ash interior. The automaker did not mention any mechanical changes in the car. The standard version of the car is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 producing 671 hp of power. This power can be used to accelerate the car from 0 to 96 kmph in 3.4 seconds.

Aston Martin DB12 Palm Beach Is a One-Off to Celebrate the Florida Sun
Aston Martin revealed a new one-of-one edition of the DB12 Volante called the Palm Beach Edition, meant to celebrate the eponymous area. The special edition is finished in an exclusive Frosted Glass Blue exterior paint that Aston Martin says requires hand-spraying to get the proper effect. The inside of the Palm Beach Edition makes repeated use of a palm-leaf motif, and the seatbacks and trim are finished in Linear Light Olive Ash wood. Toeing the line between tastefully displaying your wealth and looking like Jay Gatsby can be quite the challenging task, particularly when you're in South Florida and every other car on the block originates from Italy or Germany. There's a simple solution to avoiding any nouveau riche accusations—buy an Aston Martin. If it's classy enough for Bond, it's probably classy enough for you. To that end, Aston Martin just revealed the Palm Beach Edition DB12 Volante, a new one-of-one model designed to walk the tightrope between elegance and kitsch. The exterior is finished in an exclusive Frosted Glass Blue paint that mixes glass flakes in the topcoat to create a shimmer effect, which the brand says encapsulates the South Florida sun. The brand also says the effect is only possible by hand-spraying the paint onto the car. Aston Martin The cabin is made up of Aurora Blue and Ivory leather with Spicy Red contrasting stitching, but the showstopper is the Linear Light Olive Ash book-matched wood trim found on the dash, center console, doors, and seatbacks. Palm Beach's latitude and longitude coordinates are embossed onto the leather dashboard, and there's a palm-leaf motif scattered from the seats to the door sills. South Florida Celebration If the theme hasn't made itself clear yet, the one-of-one model was designed in collaboration between Aston Martin's Q division and Aston Martin Palm Beach, drawing on inspiration from the Palm Beach area. Aston Martin Aston Martin didn't mention anything about mechanical changes for the one-off car. That means the Palm Beach Edition likely comes with typical DB12 hardware. But even for South Florida, the DB12 is anything but typical, with a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 spitting out 671 horsepower and offering an estimated zero-to-60-mph time of 3.4 seconds for the Volante. As for pricing, the standard DB12 Volante starts at $271,825, but we expect the requisite cash for the Palm Beach Edition to be closer to $400K. This Beautiful Aston Martin DB12 Was Designed for Florida
Palm Beach, Florida, is one of the wealthiest cities in the country. According to the Palm Beach Post , at least 58 billionaires and dozens of multi-millionaires have ties to the city. That includes one President Donald Trump. With that, Palm Beach is also one of the best markets for luxury cars in the entire country—and Aston Martin knows that all too well. That's why the company is introducing a new special DB12 Volante by Q inspired by the uber-wealthy Florida city. Photo by: Aston Martin Aston Martin Palm Beach commissioned this one-of-a-kind DB12 Volante in collaboration with the automaker's Q customization team. The exterior is finished in a custom shade of Frosted Glass Blue with white pinstriping on the front splitters, side sills, and rear bumper, and gloss black wheels. And it looks lovely. The interior wears a nautically themed two-tone finish of Aurora Blue and Ivory White leather with Spicy Red contrast stitching. Special Linear Light Olive Ash open-pore wood covers sections of the door panels, dash, and seats. And to further set this DB12 apart, a custom palm-leaf logo is littered throughout the cabin, including embroidered onto the seats, armrests, and door panels. Photo by: Aston Martin Photo by: Aston Martin 'This extraordinary DB12 Volante model perfectly encapsulates the understated elegance of both Palm Beach and Aston Martin,' said Pedro Mota, Regional President of Aston Martin The Americas. 'Through a collaboration with Q by Aston Martin and Aston Martin Palm Beach, we have created an exceptional sports car that merges stunning performance, artistry, and luxury.' Of course, as a one-of-one, you won't find another DB12—or another Aston Martin, really—that looks quite like this. With the DB12 Volante starting at $265,000 in the US, we can only imagine how much it cost to create this beautiful one-off.
