Former Auburn receiver Seth Williams signs with the Las Vegas Raiders

After playing for the DC Defenders Seth Williams returns to the NFL with the Las Vegas Raiders Former Auburn wide receiver Seth Williams is returning to the National Football League. Multiple sources reported on Tuesday that Williams will sign with the Las Vegas Raiders just as teams are opening training camps. It will be his first time back in the NFL since 2024 when he was part of the Dallas Cowboys practice squad. The team released Williams in the summer before the 2025 season. Williams was a mid-season addition in May to the DC Defenders of the United Football League. In two regular season games, he caught eight passes for 63 yards and one touchdown. He saved his best for the 2025 UFL Playoffs. In the two games, he caught three passes for 107 yards and one touchdown. In the XFL Conference Championship, he caught two passes for 61 yards and a touchdown. In the UFL Championship, Williams just caught one pass for 46 yards in the Defenders 58-34 win. Williams ranks fourth all-time at Auburn with 2.124 receiving yards during his three seasons on the plains from 2018 to 2020. He is also fourth all-time in receiving touchdowns with 17. His best season for the Tigers was his sophomore season in 2019. That season he caught 59 yards for 830 yards and eight touchdowns. His production dropped during his final season in 2020, but that season also had less games. Williams would be drafted by Denver Broncos in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He only played two games for the Broncos in 2021. He caught one pass for 34 yards. He then would spend time on the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad for 2022 and 2023. Time will tell if his time in the UFL with the DC Defenders will translate to better production and a longer stay in the NFL this time around.

Former Kansas City Chiefs WR leads the UFL in touchdown receptions through 9 weeks

Cornell Powell was a fifth-round pick out of Clemson in the 2021 NFL Draft. He played in three regular-season games in his Kansas City Chiefs career but is making a serious case for a return to the NFL. Powell is currently garnering attention from the DC Defenders of the UFL for his play this spring season. He leads the league with seven touchdown receptions to go along with 29 catches for 418 yards. The former college standout is taking advantage of the playing time as a starter and properly showcasing his abilities to potential suitors. The UFL continues to pride itself on providing additional opportunities for players who face obstacles in their professional football journey. Some players have helped resurrect their careers and carved out roles in the NFL, especially with training camp invites quickly approaching for prospective players. The Defenders clinched a playoff spot and are currently 6-3 on the year, which is good for second in the XFL conference. Former Kansas City Chiefs players earn 2025 All-UFL team honors

The list of former Kansas City Chiefs players in the UFL making strides continues to grow with the latest announcement of the 2025 All-UFL teams. Yasir Durant was an undrafted free agent after the 2020 NFL Draft but joined Kansas City as a rookie, playing in 11 games with one start. After moving on to multiple teams following the season, Durant eventually joined the UFL in 2024. As a member of the DC Defenders, he has started every game and displayed versatility playing every position on the offensive line except for center. DeAndre Baker was a former first-round pick of the New York Giants in 2019. Still, disappointing play and off-field distractions led to his release during the 2020 season, after which he eventually joined Kansas City's practice squad. He appeared in just ten games for the Chiefs over two seasons, tallying 21 tackles, a sack, and two passes defensed. Since joining the DC Defenders in 2024, he's found success this season, finishing with 19 tackles and three interceptions. Four teams remain as the playoffs get underway this weekend, and the UFL championship game is set for June 14th at the Dome at America's Center in St. Louis. Denver has signed spring league players in each of the last three years: long snapper Mitchell Fraboni (2022, USFL), quarterback Ben DiNucci (2023, XFL) and pass rusher Dondrea Tillman (2024, UFL). We'll see if any UFL players are added to the squad this summer after the season wraps up over the weekend. Related: These 25 celebrities are Broncos fans. Broncos have signed sping football league players in each of last three offseasons

The 2025 United Football League season wrapped up on Saturday when the DC Defenders defeated the Michigan Panthers 58-34 in the championship game. With the UFL season now concluded, NFL teams can sign players from the spring league. The Denver Broncos have not signed any UFL players as of the time of this writing, but history suggests they will do their homework. Advertisement The Broncos have landed a spring league player in each of the last three years: long snapper Mitchell Fraboni (2022, USFL), quarterback Ben DiNucci (2023, XFL) and outside linebacker Dondrea Tillman (2024, UFL). Fraboni is still with the club as a key special teams player. DiNucci served as QB3 during the 2023 season, and Tillman totaled five sacks as a rotational pass rusher in 12 games last season. That's the kind of talent NFL teams can find in the UFL, but it remains to be seen if Denver will make any signings following the spring league's 2025 campaign.
