The K's frontman Jamie Boyle believes Oasis reunion has rescued guitar music
The K's frontman Jamie Boyle believes that the Oasis reunion has saved guitar music. The indie rocker feels that the long-awaited return of the Live Forever band has reignited the scene and has led to a "resurgence" for bands. Jamie told the Daily Star newspaper's Wired column: "The resurgence of bands is really, really strong and prominent at the minute. "We see it ourselves, in ticket sales, the support at gigs, and the buzz whenever we announce something to our ever-growing fan base. People are genuinely chomping at the bit to get into venues and watch bands again." The K's were able to see Oasis as they started their reunion tour in Cardiff and will also be in attendance for one of Noel and Liam Gallagher's gigs at Wembley Jamie said: "We went to Cardiff and were like, 'This is amazing'. Then Heaton Park was even better and we're heading to Wembley too. "It's impossible to ignore the buzz that's been created for guitar music and it's no secret that they're one of the best to ever do it, but the buzz that Oasis has created not just for themselves but for everybody is real. "All the excitement, all the press, all everything is back on guitar for the first time in a long time." Boyle explained that he has been watching the Gallagher brothers closely as he seeks inspiration from the pair's stage presence. The musician said: "There's 80,000 people there and every single one of them is just stood not being able to take their eyes off them on stage. "To get to that level is what everybody dreams about." The K's release their new album Pretty On The Internet on Friday (25.07.25) and Jamie is hoping it tops the charts after their debut record I Wonder If the World Knows? narrowly missed out on the number one spot last year. He said: "I genuinely feel like we can do almost anything now." Jamie revealed earlier this year that he cites Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo as musical influences and questioned those who restrict themselves to a single genre. He told "I'm constantly listening to new stuff and always exploring new genres and things like that. And I think one thing that surprises people is if you look at my playlist, I think people would be very surprised, because it goes from The Beatles, like '60s Beatles, through to like, '70s, '80s, punk, and then all the way through to like, like modern day pop music, like Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, people like this. "People are far too quick to put themselves into one box, or one genre, and just be like, No, that's what I like. Everything else is s***. And it's like, if you actually sit down and listen to stuff, I think, like, if you give it the time, you may end up finding something you like in it."

How to watch The Osbournes as beloved reality show drops on major streamer
The Osbournes first aired in 2002 and ran for four seasons Following the passing of Ozzy Osbourne at 76, devoted followers have been revisiting his family's MTV reality programme, The Osbournes. Social media enthusiasts have been circulating highlight reels on TikTok, following Sharon's heart-breaking announcement of Ozzy's death. Whilst Ozzy had some wild moments throughout his life, much of it pales in comparison to his family's reality programme. The series broadcast from 2002 to 2005, spanning four seasons. It's regarded as one of the ground-breaking programmes in the reality television realm, with family-centred shows such as The Kardashians and At Home With the Furys emerging in subsequent years, reports the Daily Star. All four seasons of The Osbournes are now available to stream on Prime Video. The programme featured Ozzy, spouse Sharon and two of their offspring Jack and Kelly. Their eldest daughter Aimee declined to participate in the programme, and relocated from the family residence when filming started. Aimee, who has avoided a life in the public eye, was obscured in family photographs featured in the programme, or excluded entirely. Years afterwards, Sharon would express remorse regarding the circumstances. She revealed on The Talk in 2018: "It broke my heart when she moved. She felt too that she didn't want to grow up on camera. She hated the idea - it was appalling to her. And so she left at 16 and I regret every day that she did." The inaugural episode's opening sequence demonstrates to viewers precisely what they'll witness – absolute mayhem. The show kicks off with daughter Kelly berating her brother, exclaiming: "Jack, stop telling people you're Ozzy Osbourne's son to get into places because you're a f****** loser!" In another snippet, Sharon declares: "I can't sit here and say I'm the next Mother Theresa... f*** no!" Finally, Ozzy makes his appearance, bellowing at the camera: "Rock and roll!" Following the hit of the show, Kelly embarked on a brief music career, while Sharon scored her own chat show in the US, The Sharon Osbourne Show. In a 2009 interview on BBC Radio 2, Ozzy confessed he was "stoned during the entire filming" of the show, hence his refusal to watch it back. The show was broadcast on MTV in the US, with swear words bleeped out. However, in the UK, on MTV and Channel 4, it aired uncensored.

'Sten-dos' are taking over traditional stag and hen dos
A new survey has revealed that nearly three-quarters (73%) of Brits believe traditional stag and hen dos are outdated, with the majority of people saying they would prefer to celebrate with all their friends together Strip clubs, novelty and L-plates on stag and hen-dos are becoming extinct as joint send-offs surge in popularity. Fresh research reveals younger generations are ditching traditional bachelor and bachelorette-style festivities. Instead, "sten-dos" - a combined stag and hen celebration - are rising in trend as couples-to-be enjoy their final nights of being single together. A whopping 73% of Brits declared the old-fashioned pre-wedding bashes were now old two-thirds of invitees admitted fabricating excuses to dodge attending one, reports the Daily Star. The First Choice study discovered 85% of Gen Z would rather party with all their mates together instead of splitting into single-sex groups. Roughly 83% would contemplate a package or all-inclusive break to slash expenses, with latest statistics showing guests fork out an eye-watering £538 for stag and hen celebrations. Kevin Nelson, the managing director of First Choice, commented: "While the concept of a 'Sten do' has been around for some time, recent years have seen significant growth in the trend of mixed-sex friendship groups, going away to celebrate a couple's nuptials in a more wholesome way. "At First Choice, we believe in creating the perfect trip for you, whether that's sprawling self-serve villas, serene spa hotels to vibrant city breaks with culinary adventures – we can package together your flights, accommodation and all of the amazing stuff you do while you're there at a great price to ensure every couple can celebrate their own way." Freelance Beauty and Fashion PR specialist, Jade, shared her own sten do experience in the Lake District. She said: "Forget the usual L-plates and pub crawls – my recent 'sten do' redefined pre-nuptial celebrations, proving that combining Stag and Hen parties can lead to a truly unique, cost-effective, and deeply connected experience."

Brits desperate to relive the Great British holiday of their youth
A poll found that more than half have admitted they want to relive the holidays of their youth with their own children and 90% of us think staycations are the best holidays ever Brits are dreaming of reliving the Great British holiday of their youth. A whopping 80% of those asked in a recent poll said they will be indulging in a UK-based holiday this year. More than half of Britons are eager to recreate cherished childhood holiday memories with their own offspring. While it may be the sunny weather much of the UK has enjoyed so far this summer, a staggering 90% of us reckon that staycations trump all other types of holidays, as per research conducted by Coaching Inn Group. The quintessential joys of UK breaks, such as indulging in fish and chips, lounging in pub gardens, and bracing beach walks, rank high among our favourite things. Taking in the grandeur of historic sites and meandering through quaint market towns are also among the top reasons for opting to holiday on home turf, reports the Daily Star. The great British seaside holiday came into its heyday in the post-war years, the 1950s and 1960s. It became affordable for the first time during that era, when workers started receiving paid annual leave (thanks to the Holiday Pay Act 1938) for the first time. The destinations of choice depended largely on where you lived, meaning many headed for the seaside resort closest to them. For example in the north, those from the mill towns, Manchester, Liverpool or Glasgow would most likely go to Blackpool or Morecambe: those from Leeds would head for Scarborough or Filey. Londoners might choose Brighton or Margate. While today many of us are used to hopping on a plane and flying to a sunny Spanish or Greek destination in a short few hours, travel used to be quite a lot more complicated. "If you were heading some distance for your holiday, for example driving to the popular resorts of Torbay or the West Country, it would take a full day to travel there as there were no motorways in the early post war years. The first stretch of motorway in the UK to be opened was the Preston Bypass in 1958: not much use if you were heading to Cornwall or Devon!" writes Historic UK. As slow as aspects of life back then may have been, clearly, many of us are longing for it. For a good quarter of poll respondents, there's no beating the simple pleasure of a cuppa in a traditional tea shop, while others relish the thrills of amusement and adventure parks. Nearly half of those surveyed expressed their love for exploring the British Isles, with 44% appreciating the cost savings compared to jetting off overseas. The reduced stress, ease of navigation, and the convenience of hopping into a car for a quick getaway are key factors for many choosing to stay local. Adam Charity from Coaching Inn Group said: "It's great to see so many Brits embracing a staycation this year. Holidaying in Britain isn't just a more convenient option than travelling abroad, it's also the best way to create memories that you'll cherish."

Mum buys two drinks and three tapas in Benidorm and is floored by the price
A British expat who has spent most of her life in Benidorm has revealed just how far under £20 can get you in certain parts of Benidorm if you are thirsty and hungry A pint of beer, a glass of wine and a selection of food may be a costly endeavour in many restaurants – but one mum in Benidorm has uncovered a new 'bargain' deal while visiting one of her favourite pubs. Michelle Baker has lived in the British tourist hotspot for over 40 years and the expat used to run a newspaper in the region. She now shares useful information on her Benidormforever Facebook page. And the mum, who has raised her children in sunny Spain, shared her latest food and drink find. Speaking about the new offer at Baldo, which is based by the Benidorm Beach hotel, Michelle enthused on Facebook: 'I love this new brunch deal at Baldo Benidorm; a trio of tasty tapas including the CUTEST mini paella, DELICIOUS'mussels a la vinaigrette' & the CRUNCHIEST pork crackling… 'It comes with TWO drinks - choose from wine, sangria, beer or a soft drink and the whole thing costs just 20 euros - about £17! 'A perfect lunch to share (or keep it all to yourself ) the 'Tapas Time' deal is available every day up until 5pm and is a great introduction to the wonderful world of Spanish 'tapas' - plus the perfect opportunity to try paella if you've never had it!' Michelle added that it was one of her favourite places in the whole of Benidorm and praised the atmosphere, great food, beer and cocktails, the latter being available on a two for €12 deal (approx £10). Writing under the post, one person said: 'Can't wait to try here in September.' Another wrote: 'Baldo Benidorm is fabulous, we did the bottomless brunch in June and it was well worth the money – lovely food and great choice of drinks, would highly recommend.' A third said: 'That looks great value.' And a final comment read: 'In June this year we did the brunch at Baldo and it was honestly amazing. The food was amazing and the service was perfect. I think we had about 7 cocktails each in the time given so if anyone's looking to book a brunch I highly recommend Baldo you won't regret it.' For anyone jetting off to Benidorm for some sun this summer, Michelle has previously offered top tips, while also revealing the most common mistake Brits make on day one of their holidays. Speaking to the Daily Star, she urged people to avoid being a 'first day fool', and explained: 'They get here, the measures are so massive, they set foot on the street and they say 'Oh beer is €2 a pint, let's have seven straight away'. If you can, just look around and see what the locals do, they have lived here a long time. Drink in the shade and drink water along with your alcohol." She added: "I'm not saying don't drink alcohol, that's ridiculous, but drink water alongside it because alcohol dehydrates you. And if you are travelling with families, keep an eye on the kids. The kids will spend the day in the pool and they won't feel thirsty so it is up to you as a parent to keep topping them up."
