Momokarun Returns in Opening for 2nd Season of Dandadan
It's going to be a while before we get the Chainsaw Man movie, but it looks like we got the second season of Dandadan first. The series is now available on Netflix, we have a look at the full opening featuring new and familiar characters. The opening is called On the Way and is performed by AiNA THE END who has also provided the opening for the incredibly underrated Tengoku Daimakyou/Heavenly Delusion . I have to admit, while the second opening is catchy, it's kind of lacking on the character reveal department. The first opening had teased all of the incoming villains of the season, but so far the main focus on Opening 2 has just been on the four recurring characters including Momo, Okarun, Jiji, and Aira. If you read the manga though, you'll notice teases for some incoming characters—one of which is Kinta Sakata, an overweight otaku whose speciality is his intensive knowledge of mecha; also he's convinced that he's the protagonist of the story and is very jealous that Okarun gets to talk to women. Admittedly not too many people like Kinta, but I like to think he's holding a mirror to a huge chunk of anime fans— and that makes them uncomfortable. We don't know how far into the manga the second season is going to go, but it's likely that we'll get the introduction of another member of the group Rin who has the same amount of screentime Kinta has in the opening. Dandadan Season 2 is now available on Netflix.
