Isle of Wight rower secures two silver medals at British Championships
Isle of Wight rowing crews made finals and impressed at the British Rowing Championships in July - with one rower securing two silver medals.
The prestigious event, taking place at the Watersports Centre in Nottingham between Friday, July 18 and Monday, July 21 , saw many making their debut appearance against top athletes.
But it was Islander Louis Sheasby who secured two podium finishes, coming second place in his A final in the Open J18 1x among over 100 competitors.
Louis also finished second in the Open J18 2x with crewmate Daniel Page, winning two silver medals in two categories.

Isle of Wight tricking event sees young talent shine on global stage
A record thirteen crews from Shanklin Sandown Rowing Club attend, made three A finals, with Mel Cockayne finishing sixth in the Beginner 1x, Connie Batley Smith claiming fifth in the JW14 1x and Josh Batchelor and Digby Ridgewell narrowly missing out on a medal finish in the J14 2x, coming fourth.
New combinations in the Girls Doubles were successful, as Evie Selway and Lottie Pettitt place fourth in their E final, while Martha Eggleton and Olivia Mumberson placed fifth.
Esme Walters, in her first year as a senior, beat her personal best by over 40 seconds to come fourth in her E final, while Arlo Adds, also in the early stages of their senior career, came third in their F final.
Despite securing her place in the F final, Rose Collier's race was cancelled due to thunderstorm warnings.
Rowers who also achieved personal bests were Theodora Travers and Evie Crew of JW18 2x, Isaac King and Fin Diffey of J16 2x, Tobin Green and Isaac King of J18 2x and Annabelle Steward of JW15 1x.
