MADISON, Conn. (WTNH) — A woman from New York was charged after state police said she drove more than 100 miles per hour on Interstate 95 in Madison on Sunday morning.
The woman, who state police later identified as Danielle DaSilva of Brooklyn, New York, was charged with reckless driving, second-degree reckless endangerment, risk of injury to a minor, and failure to stop on the right side of the road.

The charges came after state police said an SUV was reported driving 102 mph northbound on I-95 just after 8:30 a.m.
Following a traffic stop, DaSilva told the troopers she was running late to a 'Thomas the Train' event in Essex. Troopers said they observed a 2-year-old child in the back seat of the SUV.
DaSilva was later released on a $500 bond. She is scheduled to be arraigned at Middletown Superior Court on May 16.
