Meghan Trainor seeks medical help over pain from mysterious burning tongue syndrome: 'A little concerned'

Meghan Trainor is all about that bass when it comes to her vocals, but her lyrically inclined tongue is causing some trouble along the way. The pop star opened up on a new episode of the Workin' On It podcast that she recently sought medical help for a mysterious condition called burning tongue syndrome, after she experienced sustained pain on the tip of her tongue with no apparent cause. "I'm sick. Yet again. But, I'm not on antibiotics, I'm going to fight it," 31-year-old said at the top of the show, indicating she was also battling a cold that passed through her home, from her husband, Daryl Sabara, to their son, Barry. She later explained that her "tongue is still burning" for an unknown reason, and that she went to a dentist to help her. "If anyone knows why my tip of my tongue is burning with no white patches or anything — you can barely see anything," the "All About That Bass" singer said, indicating that the dentist told her of the condition. She added that she's been "doing the mouthwash more than four times a day" to find relief, but it's not working. "You do it as needed it's not helping. It's not working. I'm on day three. She goes, 'My last patient said after two swishes, she was fine, so you'll heal right up,'" Trainor recalled. "I'm like, I'm on day three, so when's the healing right up gonna happen?" She also told the audience that she's "a little concerned" and "a little worried" at her tongue's lack of progress on the matter. While the Mayo Clinic doesn't specifically list a disorder called burning tongue syndrome, it does highlight another called burning mouth syndrome. The organization describes it as "ongoing or recurring burning in the mouth without an obvious cause" on the "tongue, gums, lips, inside of your cheeks, roof of your mouth or large areas of your whole mouth." It also notes that the pain is comparable to a feeling "as if you injured your mouth with a very hot drink." Trainor said that she's treading carefully, as she's not sure why she's enduring difficulties with health conditions as of late. "I'm having a great time in life other than this. My body's just mad at me and I don't know why," she said. "I'm so tired. I'm trying everything. I'm gluten free, I'm dairy free, I'm egg yolk free." She finished by saying, "I'm like, I feel incredible, but my immune system does not feel incredible." Trainor also previously shared details of her home life with Sabara on Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast in 2024, telling the host that the couple share a peculiar two-toilet space in their bathroom, but that she planned on improving it when they moved to a new home.'We're moving into a new house, and it has a toilet facing this way, and a bidet across from it,' she said at the time. 'So I need to make this [bidet] a toilet. So it's gonna be a little different, but it's a tighter bathroom area, so we will be close. Knees to knees.' Spy Kids fans shocked to learn the REAL age of iconic actress from film

It's been 24 years since Spy Kids was released but it's still surprising fans - with some just now realizing that one actress was only in her 20s when she was playing a mom to pre-teens. Carla Gugino, now 53, played Ingrid Cortez, a retired Office of Strategic Services agent turned consultant worker, and mother to kids Juni and Carmen (played Daryl Sabara and Alexa Vega) in the film. While Ingrid's age isn't revealed in the movie, her children are aged nine and 11, and Antonio Banderas, who played her husband, was 38. However, Carla herself was only 27 when she was cast in the film. 'So what's crazy is that when I played Ingrid Cortez in Spy Kids, I was 27 years old, isn't that bananas,' the Sin City star said in amazement in a recent interview with B&C. 'I should have been 10 years older for that part, we've made everybody believe it,' she quipped. Carla added it's been 'incredible' to see longevity of the film, which expanded into a multi-film franchise. 'But it's been incredible to see generation after generation just love that movie - there's something timeless about it, and I love it cause the kids get to be the heroes,' she said passionately. The actress added: 'The parents are cool, they're not like the sort of fuddy-duddy [old school] - there's something very innovative about it and I think here's something very timeless about it which is super cool.' But Carla may have been a bit too 'cool,' with shocked fans of the movie in disbelief that she was so young in the role. '27???? I'm older than Ingrid Cortez???' a surprised user wrote. 'Wait I'm now older than she was when she filmed it?' another incredulous fan chimed in. 'She looked older than 27 tho lol, worked well,' observed someone else. 'Damn I thought she was 35 in Spy Kids, I think it was just the hair that made her look older,' commented The original three Spy Kids films that also included the sequels Spy Kids 2: The Island Of Lost Dreams (2002) and Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over (2003). Written and directed by Robert Rodriguez, the first of the spy action comedy films became a big hit with both critics and fans, grossing $147.9 million surpassing their budget of $35 million. While Ingrid's age isn't revealed in the movie, her children (played by Daryl Sabara and Alexa Vega) are aged nine and 11, and Antonio Banderas, who played her husband, was 38 The success helped it earn the distinction of being among the top 20 highest-grossing films of 2001. The cast also featured the likes of Danny Trejo, Alan Cumming, George Clooney, Teri Hatcher, Cheech Marin, Robert Patrick and Tony Shalhoub. The core cast also starred together in Spy Kids 2: The Island Of Lost Dreams (2002), which was another box office hit raking in $119.7 million while working from a $38 million budget. The last of the trilogy, Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over (2003), earned even more than the first two, grossing $197 million while spending $38 million on the production. Spy Kids also saw some Hollywood stars make appearances in All the Time in the World (2011) with Jessica Alba, Joel McHale, Rowan Blanchard, Mason Cook, Ricky Gervais and Jeremy Piven joining. Ultimately, the filmmaker rebooted the family-friendly action series entirely with last year's Netflix movie Spy Kids: Armageddon, this time co-starring Gina Rodriguez and Zachary Levi as super spy parents.

Home with side-by-side toilet has buyers kicking up a stink

Meghan Trainor raised plenty of eyebrows when she revealed her home with husband Daryl Sabara has a rather unusual feature: two toilets in the bathroom located directly next to each other. The 'All About That Bass' singer made the revelation on an episode of Nicole Byer's podcast Why Won't You Date Me? in 2021, claiming the couple 'pee at the same time a lot.' 'It's gonna be a little different, but it's a tighter bathroom area, so we will be close. Knees to knees. And that's better. I want to see him,' she said at the time. While certainly a unique way to bond, Trainor's bathroom habits aren't, perhaps, that unusual if a recent sale listing in Burns, Oregon is anything to go by. The log cabin-style home comes with two side-by-side toilets, each with their own loo roll. RELATED 'Just evil': Share house's shock offer to vulnerable renter Bathroom in the kitchen a shock surprise Aus's worst neighbours exposed It is like a public bathroom stall, but taken one step further, as no dividing wall separates the toilets from each other. In lieu of traditional tiles, the floor is covered in plush salmon carpet – the shade presumably chosen to hide a world of sins. The toilets look onto a matching pair of his-and-hers sinks, placed below a large mirror. Unsurprisingly, the bathroom has already attracted attention on social media, with users torn over the unusual layout. 'I can't even look my husband in the eye after he comes out of a regular bathroom,' one person commented on reddit. Another person wrote: 'It's a choice. Not one I'd make, but some couples have 'comfort' levels way beyond mine'. 'Having two toilets side-by-side does nothing. Literally NO ONE wants to to sh*t right next to someone else. The point of having separate bowls is in case two people need to go at the same time, or don't want to share a toilet area for personal hygiene reasons. This is worse than a public bathroom, which at least has stalls,' a third wrote. The house is on the market for $US385,000 ($594,000) following a recent price cut. Unusual bathrooms strike chord with buyers and tenants While side-by-side toilets may seem a little out there, it's not the strangest bathroom setting to have caught national – and sometimes global – attention. In 2020, an old terrace at Port Melbourne tested how far renters would go for an inner city lifestyle, with the kitchen and bathroom sharing a space. Advertised at $400 a week, tenants could live at the two-bedroom property, where the only shower is right beside the stove and the toilet was found outside in the paved courtyard. It must have been the year for unusual bathroom listings with a separate inner Sydney studio offering tenants a room with a different kind of view. The apartment on Bourke St appeared to seamlessly blends the shower and toilet with the kitchen. Recently renovated, the studio had done away with bathroom walls and instead opens the space up with glass. While the glass walls allowed light to flow into the small home, it also meant the toilet could be admired from the comfort of the bed. Meanwhile, an Aussie share house listing sent shudders over what renters may be tolerating in a tight market only last year. The rental listed on a share house group social media site, claimed: 'rent includes furnished private room and bathroom'. However, the ad raised some serious questions when the only bathroom pictured was a portaloo. The listing also stated that there was no access to the kitchen. Social media was having none of it with one of the images of an outdoor portaloo seeing the listing flagged on popular Reddit forum sh*trentals. 'Private bathroom or portaloo? Came across this listing with a private bathroom … and photos of a portaloo,' a Redditor said. 'Also, photos of a kitchen that you don't have access to! Preying on the international student community in the area undoubtedly.'

Meghan Trainor shows off new boob job at Wango Tango after weight-loss drug admission

showcased her new boob job as she walked the red carpet at iHeartRadio's 102.7 KIIS FM Wango Tango in California over the weekend. The singer, 31 - who recently revealed both she and husband Daryl Sabara took the weight-loss drug Mounjaro - looked stunning as she posed for photos at the event. In March, Meghan debuted her boob job on Instagram after undergoing a breast augmentation and lift. The singer wowed wearing a pink minidress with cutouts on the sides as well as a ruffled skirt that stopped inches above her knees. She slipped into a pair of closed-toed, pink heels. Meghan accessorized with a sparkling silver necklace as well as a matching bracelet and dangly earrings. The star struck a number of poses upon arriving to the main venue in Huntington Beach - and later took to the stage to perform in front of the crowd. She had an outfit change and showed off her slimmer frame wearing a pair of high-waisted bedazzled pink pants and a matching, plunging bralette top. In January, Meghan announced that she had plans to undergo a breast lift. She told People: 'I think I was born with saggy boobs. I swear, they were always looking at the ground. So this is a big deal for me. I'm getting a boob job. I'm getting a lift.' The mom-of-two has previously talked about her struggles when it comes to nursing her kids. Meghan explained: 'Listen, these don't make milk. So when I have more children, these don't make milk anyways. So it's time to lift my boobs, I'm so excited.' In March, the singer unveiled her boob job following the procedure. She said on Instagram: 'I've always struggled with loving my boobs before I got them done, because they were never even, were always sagging my whole life.' The singer shared the surgery was in collaboration with the company Motiva and that the implants she got have a 'natural look and feel.' She said: 'My breasts look fuller yet completely natural and they complement my body proportions beautifully. They're finally twin sisters and not distant cousins.' While giving a glimpse of her chest post-procedure, Meghan said: 'After having two kids, living a healthier lifestyle and losing weight, I couldn't be happier with my decision.' Last month, it was also revealed that both Megan and her husband Daryl have taken the type 2 diabetes drug Mounjaro to aid in their weight-loss journey. During an episode of the couple's Workin' On It podcast, the actor explained: 'We did 75 Hard after our son Riley was born and, man, did we crush.' Meghan added: 'Then, we heard more and more of our friends - and even our doctors - were on Mounjaro and Ozempic.' She eventually decided to try Mounjaro due to there being less side effects. Daryl chimed in with: 'So, I did it, too,' and his wife replied with, 'Daryl and I both do everything together.' Meghan explained that they both take the lowest dose of Mounjaro while also consistently working out and eating healthy. She said: 'We were like, "We have to make sure we don't lose muscle that we worked so hard gaining all those years. We stay in the gym, we work out, we eat right, and we just noticed that we were less hungry.' Daryl added: 'We've been on this journey for a while and we learned how there are right ways to do it and there are improper ways to do it.' The couple - who married in 2018 - shared that they use smaller plates when eating to help control portion sizes. She stated: 'I'm obsessed now with the science of when I work out and build muscle, you have to eat protein or else it's not going to do anything.' During the podcast episode, Trainor also told her listeners that she has 'no shame' when it comes to taking the weight-loss drug.
