Jesse Love fastest in Xfinity Series' return to Rockingham
After surviving a NASCAR Overtime restart on Saturday, Richard Childress Racing's Jesse Love won the first Xfinity Series race at Rockingham Speedway in over two decades. In the 256-lap event, the driver of the No. 2 Chevrolet led 53 laps to pick up his second Xfinity Series win of the 2025 season. Sammy Smith, Parker Retzlaff, Harrison Burton and Brennan Poole rounded out the top five. Taylor Gray, Austin Hill, Josh Williams, Jeb Burton and Daniel Dye completed the top 10. Jesse Love celebrates with crew chief Danny Stockman Jr. AFP With a second-place finish, Smith picked up the final $100,000 Dash 4 Cash bonus prize of the year. The red flag came out after a wreck on the restart with 10 laps remaining. With drivers close on fuel, Kaulig Racing's Christian Eckes sputtered coming up to speed, causing a multicar incident that swept up Dash 4 Cash drivers Justin Allgaier and Brandon Jones. That led to another late-race stoppage. Jones and Allgaier finished 13th and 22nd, respectively. The final Dash 4 Cash competitor, Carson Kvapil, finished 17th. Ryan Sieg led a race-best 77 laps and finished 19th. Sammy Smith Wins Rockingham after Jesse Love Disqualified Following Post-Race Inspection
Jesse Love's second win of the season was short-lived, as a rear suspension violation on the No. 2 Chevrolet led to Love's disqualification. Sammy Smith, who Love passed on the overtime restart, inherits the wins, becoming both the Dash 4 Cash winner and the race winner in NASCAR's Xfinity Series return to Rockingham Speedway. Love's Chevrolet violated rule 14.14.2.1, which states that all mating surfaces between the truck trailing arm and the U-bolt saddle must be in complete contact with each other. Love responded quickly on social media after this disqualification, joking that his house has a safe to keep the trophy that NASCAR will surely ask back. Love also had the fastest lap extra point awarded in Xfinity for the first time this season, with his disqualification that is passed to Ryan Sieg.
