Gwyneth Paltrow Becomes Astronomer Spokesperson After Coldplay Scandal
Originally appeared on E! Online Out of a sky full of stars, Astronomer wants Gwyneth Paltrow on its team. One week after her ex Chris Martin joked about Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot—then the respective CEO and human resource head of Astronomer—"having an affair" when they hid from the camera at a July 15 concert, the Oscar winner weighed in with a humorous take on the matter. "I've been hired on a very temporary basis to speak on behalf of the 300-plus employees at Astronomer," Paltrow quipped in a video released by the DataOps company July 25. "Astronomer has gotten a lot of questions over the last few days and they wanted me to answer the most common ones." But instead of breaking down the cheating speculation surrounding Byron and Cabot, the so-called "temporary spokesperson" started answering questions about data operations. "We've been thrilled so many people have a newfound interest in data workflow automation," Paltrow gushed, before plugging Astronomer's DataOps conference as an answer for "other questions we've received" in the wake of the scandal. She hilariously cut off Q&A submissions reading, 'OMG what the actual f—' and 'How is your social media team holding—" to expertly shift the focus back to the brand. "We will now be returning to what we do best: Delivering game-changing results to our customers," the Iron Man actress added. "Thank you for your interest in Astronomer." Needless to say, the internet quickly caught onto Astronomer's cheekiness in having Paltrow star in its latest ad. More from E! Needless to say, the internet quickly caught onto Astronomer's cheekiness in having Paltrow star in its latest ad. "Amazing crisis management," one X user wrote, while another commented, "This is quite possibly the best recovery play I've seen a company pull off in a while. Way to lean into it lmao." A third X user praised, "This is a PR masterclass. You take the most viral moment of July 2025 and, instead of disaster control, make light of the situation and create the ultimate brand awareness." As for Byron and Cabot? The pair—who were seen in a close embrace at the Coldplay concert, before quickly pulling away when they realized they were shown on the jumbotron—have stepped down from their respective roles at Astronomer following their viral moment. "Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted," the company wrote in a July 19 statement to E! News, adding that the former CEO has failed to meet the company's standards of conduct following an internal investigation. "The Board will begin a search for our next Chief Executive as Cofounder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy continues to serve as interim CEO." Days later, Cabot also parted ways with the organization. "I can confirm that Kristin Cabot is no longer with Astronomer,' a company rep told NBC News July 24. 'She has resigned." Neither Byron or Cabot have publicly addressed the nature of their relationship or what occurred at the Coldplay concert. For more a complete breakdown of the scandal, keep reading. Gwyneth Paltrow is Astronomer's "spokesperson" after Coldplay Kiss Cam
For those keeping up with the Astronomer x Coldplay kiss-cam saga, a new (read: unexpected) update has broken the internet overnight. Gwyneth Paltrow — who, as we all know, is frontman Chris Martin's ex — has become Astronomer's "temporary spokesperson," appearing in a new corporate-style video for the DataOps company. Last night, the surprise parody video was shared on their website and social media, explaining that Gwyneth had been hired on a "very temporary basis to speak on behalf of the 300-plus employees at Astronomer." Sitting behind a desk in a bare office and wearing a pale blue shirt, the 52-year-old began her monologue by thanking the world for its "interest in Astronomer." Code for: the viral clip of Andy Byron, former CEO of Astronomer, and HR specialist, Kristin Cabot, whose affair was exposed at the Boston Coldplay concert. Gwyneth continued: "Astronomer has gotten a lot of questions over the last few days, and they wanted me to answer the most common ones." In an iconic PR move, on-screen text then started to type out: "OMG! What the actual f—." This was followed by the actor answering a completely different question, namely calling Astronomer the "best place to run Apache Airflow." More sarcastically, Gywneth then told the camera that she and the company have been "thrilled by how many people have a newfound interest in data workflow automation." Other questions included, "How is your social media team holding up?" To which the Oscar winner responded by sharing that there is "still room available" at the company's Beyond Analytics event in September. Of course, after posting the video, the comment section went wild. From people calling it a "10/10 idea" to approach Gywneth for the role, to the classic, "the devil works hard, but Astronomer's PR team works harder," others simply called it a work of "genius." After Kiss Cam Chaos, Astronomer Hires Chris Martin's Ex-Wife Gwyneth Paltrow: ‘What A Savage Move'
Astronomer has roped in Gwyneth Paltrow as the "temporary spokesperson" of the company following the alleged cheating scandal. Astronomer, the tech company which has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons these days, just pulled off an iconic move. They introduced Coldplay's frontman, Chris Martin's ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, as their 'temporary spokesperson". The DataOps platform posted a video through their social media accounts on Friday, July 25, featuring the renowned Hollywood actress. 'I've been hired on a very temporary basis to speak on behalf of the 300-plus employees at Astronomer," she said at the beginning of the minute-long clip. She added, 'Astronomers have gotten a lot of questions over the last few days, and they wanted me to answer the most common ones." Instead of discussing the cheating scandal of Andy Byron and Kristen Cabot, Gwyneth, with a straight face, began answering questions about the Astronomer's data operations. The Iron Man actress promoted their latest AI and data products, saying, 'We've been thrilled so many people have a newfound interest in data workflow automation." As she proceeds, another question pops up on a blue screen, asking, 'How is your social media team holding?" Just when people thought Gwyneth might touch upon the scandal, she humorously proved them wrong. She promoted their Beyond Analytics conference, scheduled for September, and told everyone that there are still vacancies available. Internet Reacts To Astronomer's Video Feat. Gwyneth Paltrow People on the internet loved the clever move, with many praising Astronomer for using humour at the time of crisis and turning the bad publicity into a smart marketing move. One user said, 'Hiring the ex-wife of the lead Coldplay singer to deliver this message is absolutely savage. Oh my goodness." Another curiously asked, 'I want to know what prompt you used on what system to come up with this PR response, because chef's kiss." A different person wrote, 'Guys, this is a PR masterclass. You take the most viral moment of July 2025 and, instead of disaster control, make light of the situation and create the ultimate brand awareness. Bravo." 'Best brand response of the year, holy s–t," mentioned another user. Why Is Astronomer In The Headlines? It all started at a Coldplay concert at Gillette Stadium in Boston on July 16, when the band's frontman decided to hype the crowd with their kiss cam segment. The camera panned across the stadium and landed on Andy Byron, the CEO of the tech company, and his Chief People Officer, Kristin Cabot. The two were wrapped in each other's arms when the camera caught them. In that moment, they panicked and tried hiding away. Seeing them react that way, Chris tells the crowd, 'Oh, look at these two," adding, 'Oh, what? Either they're having an affair or they're just very shy." The video has since gone viral on the internet, with people discovering that both were married to different individuals. While Andy is married to Megan Kerrigan, Kristen's husband is the owner of Privateer Rum, Andrew Cabot. As of now, both the top executives at Astronomer have resigned from their respective positions. Astronomer clapped back at Coldplay with a PR masterstroke starring Chris Martin's ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow after the viral kiss cam incident

The Oscar-winning actress appeared in a video shared by the DataOps company on July 25, delivering a cheeky message about recent "questions" the company has been receiving. Kristin Cabot resigns from Astronomer after Coldplay kiss-cam scandal, company confirms
The news comes days after The software company confirmed on July 19 that Byron had resigned, with cofounder Pete DeJoy sliding in to serve as interim CEO. Byron and Cabot, who held the title of chief people officer at Astronomer, vaulted to Internet infamy when a 'kiss cam' at a July 16 Coldplay concert in Foxborough captured the pair canoodling. Advertisement Coldplay's Chris Martin accidentally exposes astronomer CEO Andy Byron having an affair with his HR chief Kristin Cabot. — Pop Crave (@PopCrave) Cabot, wearing a sleeveless black dress, immediately covered her face and turned her back on the camera. Byron, a little slower on the draw, ducked out of the frame. They're both married to other people, at least as of this writing. 'Oh, look at these two,' Coldplay frontman Chris Martin said from the stage. 'Uh oh, what? Either they're having an affair or they're very shy.' A couple of apparently clueless concertgoers in Byron and Cabot's box were seen cheering as the coworkers ducked out of the frame. The incident, caught on video, spread quickly on social media, where one post has been viewed more than 60 million times. The company said at the time of Byron's resignation that the incident was no laughing matter, releasing a statement that said company leaders 'are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met.' Advertisement Prior to the kiss cam debacle, 'we were known as a pioneer in the DataOps space,' the company said. 'While awareness of our company may have changed overnight, our product and our work for our customers have not.' Real estate records indicate that Byron and his wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, purchased a home in Northborough. Neither Byron nor Cabot have publicly announced their next professional roles.
