Yash Dayal reflects on RCB players helping Virat Kohli achieve IPL glory: ‘Whatever is done for him is less'
In the days following Royal Challengers Bengaluru's maiden IPL win, after the beat Punjab Kings by six runs in IPL 2025 Final in Ahmedabad, there has been plenty of cause for celebration for cricket fans all over the world, but especially amongst the players themselves. This extends especially to some players who have grown up watching Virat Kohli, idolised the great man, and now earnt an opportunity to play alongside him. It was evident in RCB's celebrations that this victory meant just a little bit more because the team could help Kohli finally get his hands on that elusive IPL trophy, after 18 long years. As Kohli broke down in tears, his teammates flooded towards him to celebrate. Trying to explain the cause for such sentiment, Kohli's teammate and one of RCB's most important players in the last two years, Yash Dayal, spoke about how it was important to the players as well. "Whatever is done for Virat bhaiya is very less. He has given this franchise 18 years and has seen so many ups and downs. And we are very happy to have won the trophy and want to repeat it in the future also,' said Dayal in an interview with Times of India. Dayal was one of the three players RCB retained before the IPL 2025 season, with captain Rajat Patidar and Kohli himself being the other two. Having been part of RCB's dramatic journey to the title, Dayal also played a crucial role once there, bowling the 18th over and only conceding 5 runs to ensure RCB were favourites for the match. Dayal also credited his senior pace bowling partners for the influence they had on his growth, picking out Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood. 'Bhuvi bhaiya and Josh Hazlewood joining the team after the auction made my work very easy. I was stress-free and as a unit, we followed simple bowling plans and stuck to them.' Dayal also mentioned that Hazlewood in particular helped him tighten his game up, becoming more consistent with his lines and lengths and therefore more of a threat with the ball. 'What I have learned from Josh is to bowl at the perfect spot. The top of off-stump with pace. What we say is bowling on a coin without consistently being erratic,' concluded Dayal.

"Challenging project": IRCON's JGM Ashwani Dayal on transformative railway project in J-K
Katra (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], June 6 (ANI): Ashwani Dayal, Joint General Manager at Indian Railway Construction International Limited (IRCON), on Friday highlighted the complexities of constructing the railway project in Jammu and Kashmir, the Chenab Bridge project, citing political and engineering challenges. Dayal noted that motivating people to work on the project was a significant challenge. While speaking to ANI on Friday, Dayal said, 'Everyone knows that it was a challenging project, both politically and in terms of engineering... Another big challenge was to motivate people to come here to work on this project.' The project incorporated advanced safety features, including fire-safe cables and doors, escape doors, and unidirectional jet fans with automatic sensors. Dayal emphasised the safety features incorporated into the tunnel construction, including fire-safe cables and fire doors that can withstand temperatures up to 1000 degrees Celsius. 'Fire-safe cables and fire doors have been installed in the tunnels. They can withstand a temperature of up to 1000 degrees. Escape doors have also been provided so that people can get out safely from there,' he added. IRCON built a 270-kilometre road from Banihal to Sawalkot to transport heavy machinery, which now benefits the state government and local communities. The project also features unidirectional jet fans equipped with automatic sensors to ventilate smoke and polluted air. Dayal said, 'Unidirectional jet fans have been installed with automatic sensors to let out smoke or polluted, harmful air. We also built a road more than 270 kilometres from Banihal to Sawalkot to transport our dumpers, tractors, heavy machinery, and trains. Today, the state government is using this road, which is also benefiting nearby villages and towns.' 'So we not only brought the railways but also brought other means of transport,' Dayal added. The railway project showcases IRCON's engineering expertise and commitment to safety and infrastructure development in the region. Earlier, calling this day 'historic', Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Friday said that the Chenab bridge part of the Srinagar-Baramulla Railway Line (USBRL) was constructed working in harmony with nature. Addressing the public during the inauguration of the Chenab bridge, Vaishnaw said, 'Today is a historic day. Another gem has been added to Jammu and Kashmir. Today, PM Modi has inaugurated the railway line connecting Jammu to Srinagar. The country had cherished the dream of this railway line for decades. There were great challenges in its construction... Instead of trying to conquer nature, working in harmony with nature, this railway line has become a reality today through this network of bridges and tunnels. This was made possible due to the steely determination, hard work and laser-sharp focus of our Prime Minister.' Prime Minister Modi today inaugurated the world's highest railway arch bridge - the 'Chenab Railway Bridge' - and India's first cable-stayed 'Anji Bridge' in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday also flagged off two Vande Bharat Express trains from Katra Railway Station, directly connecting the Jammu division with Kashmir. This marks a major milestone in Jammu and Kashmir's railway connectivity. Before flagging off the trains, Prime Minister Modi interacted with schoolchildren on board and also spoke with railway staff members present on the train. The new Vande Bharat Express service will reduce the travel time between Katra and Srinagar from the current 6-7 hours by road to just about 3 hours. The trains aim to provide a fast, comfortable, and reliable travel option for residents, tourists, and pilgrims. The train will run through the Anji Khad Bridge, which is India's first cable-stayed railway bridge, and the Chenab Bridge, which is the highest railway bridge in the world. These trains have been specially designed to operate in the cold climatic conditions of the Kashmir Valley. In a remarkable gesture, Prime Minister Modi waved the Tiranga, the Indian national flag and carried it forward on the deck of the bridge on the Chenab River. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah were present during the inauguration. These bridges are part of the ambitious Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Railway Link (USBRL) project in Jammu and Kashmir. The iconic Chenab Railway Bridge, the world's highest railway arch bridge, is part of the Katra-to-Sangaldan stretch, connecting New Delhi directly with Kashmir via Katra. Situated in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, the Chenab Bridge is an engineering marvel standing 359 metres above the riverbed. It will officially connect the Kashmir Valley with the rest of India via rail for the first time in history. The project faced numerous engineering and logistical challenges due to the region's difficult terrain and seismic sensitivity. Yet, after years of meticulous work, the bridge now stands as a testament to India's technological prowess and commitment to inclusive development. It marks a transformative chapter in India's infrastructural landscape, promising greater connectivity, economic growth, and social integration in the region. The Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project is a 272 km long USBRL project, constructed at a cost of around Rs 43,780 crore, which includes 36 tunnels (spanning 119 km) and 943 bridges. The project establishes all-weather, seamless rail connectivity between the Kashmir Valley and the rest of the country, aiming to transform regional mobility and drive socio-economic integration. Metro To Cross Yamuna For Fifth Time
New Delhi: Delhi Metro will soon cross the Yamuna for the fifth time, as the new bridge connecting Soorghat and Sonia Vihar metro stations on the 13.4km-long Majlis Park-Maujpur corridor is ready. It is among the 25 bridges present in the 22km stretch of the river from Wazirabad barrage to Okhla barrage. The Majlis Park-Maujpur corridor, an extension of the Pink Line, is likely to become operational this year. "Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) successfully completed the fifth bridge over the Yamuna river , a key highlight of the ongoing Phase IV expansion," said Anuj Dayal, principal executive director, corporate communications, DMRC. Spanning a length of 560 metres, the bridge is a balanced cantilever structure composed of two modules, each comprising spans of 280 metres. The bridge rests on nine piers (numbered P188 to P196) and includes 76 piles with permanent MS (mild steel) liners, reflecting the advanced engineering standards employed in its construction. "This bridge marks a technological milestone for Delhi Metro as it is the first Yamuna crossing built using the balanced cantilever technique. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Switch to UnionBank Rewards Card UnionBank Credit Card Apply Now Undo This specialised method is typically used in areas where traditional ground-based construction is not feasible. Though complex and time-intensive, it ensures structural integrity and minimises environmental impact — especially crucial when building across sensitive floodplain regions," said Dayal. Apart from the civil construction, other vital components such as laying of tracks, installation of signalling cables and overhead equipment (OHE) were also completed, he added. Delhi Metro already has four bridges to cross the Yamuna. Of these, the Yamuna bank bridge on the Blue Line is the longest, with a length of 698.8 metres. It opened on May 10, 2009. The 553-metre-long bridge at Shastri Park on the Red Line is the oldest, as it became operational on Dec 24, 2002. Metro trains started running on the 574-metre-long bridge at Kalindi Kunj on the Magenta Line from Dec 25, 2017. The fourth bridge at Nizamuddin on the Pink Line is 602.8 metres long and opened on Dec 31, 2018. The new bridge will also be on the Pink Line. It has come up between two existing bridges on the Yamuna — the Wazirabad bridge and the Signature Bridge. The bridge will cross the Yamuna at about 385 metres downstream of the old Wazirabad Bridge and 213 metres upstream of the Signature Bridge. The construction of two more bridges on the river in the 22km stretch -- a railway bridge parallel to Loha Pul and the Barapulla Elevated Extension Bridge to Mayur Vihar -- is underway. However, the construction of the RRTS bridge between New Ashok Vihar and Sarai Kale Khan Namo Bharat stations is complete. Namo Bharat trains are already running over the new Yamuna bridge as part of the trial runs currently underway between these two stations. As part of Phase IV, the construction of three priority corridors is underway -- the RK Ashram Marg--Janakpuri West corridor (extension of the Magenta Line), the Aerocity-Tughlakabad corridor (new Golden Line), and Majlis Park-Maujpur. Of the total 13.4km of the Majlis Park-Maujpur corridor, a 4.6km-long stretch between Majlis Park and Jagatpur Village is almost complete. Trial runs started on this section in late Dec last year. This section, comprising three additional stations – Burari, Jharoda Majra and Jagatpur village -- will be opened after obtaining the mandatory approvals. Three more new corridors were approved last year under Phase IV expansion: Lajpat Nagar to Saket G Block (extension of Golden Line), Inderlok to Indraprastha (extension of Green Line), and Rithala-Narela-Kundli (extension of Red Line). In total, DMRC is constructing 112km of new metro lines as part of Phase IV expansion across the national capital.

Delhi's First Double-Decker Viaduct Is Ready — But Isn't
New Delhi: Delhi's first double-decker viaduct between Bhajanpura and Yamuna Vihar on the upcoming Maujpur to Majlis Park corridor is almost ready. However, the ramp connecting the road with the flyover is yet to be constructed due to pending tree-cutting permission. Announced by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation in 2021, the structure is among the three double-decker viaducts being constructed as part of Delhi Metro's phase IV, where trains will move on the upper deck and vehicles on the lower deck. The 1.4km-long double-decker viaduct, situated on the central verge of Bhajanpura Road, is transforming the landscape of northeast Delhi while traversing densely populated neighbourhoods. It is part of the 12.32km-long corridor, which will be an extension of Pink Line. "The viaduct for through movement of metro trains is already constructed for the entire corridor, and the section is expected to open for passenger services within this year," said Anuj Dayal, principal executive director of corporate communications at DMRC. He added that the lower deck—four-lane PWD flyover—was almost ready. "However, the ramp needed for road connectivity to the flyover portion of the double-decker structure is not yet constructed due to the unavailability of tree-cutting permissions. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Switch to UnionBank Rewards Card UnionBank Credit Card Apply Now Undo Once the necessary permissions are received, the construction of the ramp portion shall also be completed," said Dayal. Sources said some trees were situated on the ramp and the modalities for the same were being worked out in liaison with the appropriate authorities to expedite the matter. Among the three double-decker viaducts, the 2.4km-long facility between Sangam Vihar and Ambedkar Nagar stations on the Aerocity-Tughlaqabad corridor will be the longest. The viaduct between Azadpur and Rani Jhansi Road intersection on the RK Ashram Marg-Janakpuri West corridor will be about 2.2km long. Both are under construction. Though the Majlis Park-Maujpur corridor is likely to open this year, the other two corridors, RK Ashram Marg-Janakpuri West and Aerocity-Tughlaqabad, are expected to become operational by 2026. The Janakpuri West-RK Ashram corridor is an extension of Magenta Line while Aerocity-Tughlaqabad is the new Golden Line. Three more new corridors were approved last year as part of the phase-IV expansion: Lajpat Nagar to Saket G Block (extension of Golden Line), Inderlok to Indraprastha (extension of Green Line), and Rithala-Narela-Kundli (extension of Red Line). In total, DMRC is constructing about 112km of new lines as part of its phase-IV expansion across the national capital. DMRC had earlier said over 70% of the civil work was completed in the three priority corridors: Majlis Park-Maujpur, RK Ashram-Janakpuri West and Tughlaqabad-Aerocity.

Archer Aviation's Defense Push, Piloted Flight To Boost Stock: Analysts
Archer Aviation Inc. (NASDAQ:ACHR) shares are surging on Tuesday following the company's better-than-expected first-quarter results, which were reported on Monday. The company reported a loss of 17 cents per share, beating analyst estimates of 28 cents loss per share. Needham analyst Chris Pierce reiterated a Buy rating and maintained a price forecast of $13 post Q1 results. The analyst notes that the company is making steady progress across several areas. A piloted flight is expected soon, and preparations for its first commercial launch in the UAE are underway. The company is benefiting from favorable regulatory developments, strategic partnerships, and early customer interest – all of which point to strong global demand and promising long-term potential, the analyst adds that while near-term revenue visibility is limited due to modest initial deployments dependent on local partners and regulators, the company's long-term outlook remains positive; ACHR's aircraft offers advantages over existing options in a supply-constrained market. The analyst revised 2025 EBITDA estimates to $460 million from $418 million. HC Wainwright & Co. analyst Amit Dayal also reiterated a Buy rating and maintained a price forecast of $12.50. The analyst writes that, as expected, the company did not generate any quarterly revenues. The analyst notes that management reported that ground, transition, and technical tests are complete, with piloted flights expected to begin within days. The analyst believes this progress is crucial for delivering at least one aircraft to the UAE this summer for regional testing. Dayal anticipates that advancements in Archer's aviation software initiatives with Palantir Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:PLTR) will unlock new revenue streams that have not yet been included in their forecasts. The analyst also believes regulatory support for the eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) market remains strong. By 2030 and beyond, the analyst projects Archer's consistent annual eVTOL manufacturing to exceed 300 units per year, reaching a cumulative production of over 3,000 eVTOLs between 2034 and 2036. Dayal estimates revenue of around $18 million in 2025, over $42 million in 2026, and around $1 billion by 2028. JP Morgan analyst Bill Peterson maintained a Neutral rating with a price forecast of $9. This rating reflects a cautious stance due to uncertainties surrounding FAA certification timelines and the challenges facing the eVTOL industry. The analyst highlighted key earnings takeaways: an imminent piloted flight, increased defense investment, a growing hybrid/defense strategy, and a balanced production ramp-up. Given FAA certification delays, strong government support for defense, and uncertain consumer adoption, Peterson expects Archer to focus more on the defense sector. With multiple aircraft in assembly in California and Georgia, the analyst forecasts low production volumes through 2026, followed by a modest ramp-up from 2027 as efficiency improves.
