Days of Our Lives' Susan Seaforth Hayes Addresses Daytime Emmys Snub: ‘Perhaps the Judges Thought I Wasn't Acting?'
'I'm surprised Susan Hayes is not nominated. Shame on the Academy.' 'No Susan Seaforth Hayes is a crime and makes the Emmys meaningless.' More from TVLine Dear Emmys: Stop Letting a Handful of Shows Dominate the Acting Categories Is Pitt Absence Easy to Explain? Does Scrubs Revival Setting Surprise? Did Daytime Emmys Deliver Bold Wake-Up Call? Will TV OD on FCs? More Qs! Daytime Emmys 2025: Here's Why Beyond the Gates Isn't Eligible to Be Nominated... Yet 'She absolutely should have been nominated for her heartbreaking work with Doug's passing at the end of 2024.' If there was one recurring sentiment from TVLine readers in the wake of this year's Daytime Emmy nominations being revealed, it was Days of Our Lives fans decrying the lack of a nod for Susan Seaforth Hayes, who plays Julie Williams. Hayes is a six-time Daytime Emmy nominee, most recently in 2020, and she was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018. Hayes addressed her arguably conspicuous omission from the Academy's short list in a Thursday Instagram post. 'For everyone who was upset by the Emmy nominations, I am amazed and moved that so many cared that deeply,' the actress wrote, before offering some perspective. 'Between my nominations' over the years, 'I have had the honor of co-hosting the show once with Beverlee McKinsey (ex-Iris, Another World; ex-Alexandra, Guiding Light) and in 2018 receiving a Lifetime Achievement Emmy that sits on our piano next to [husband] Billy's.' (On Days, Bill Hayes played Doug Williams to his real-life wife's Julie, prior to his passing in January 2024.) 'I have not been snubbed by all the judges of NATAS over time,' she noted. Hayes went on to speculate that — because her big storyline in 2024 involved Julie mourning the death of husband Doug — she was seen as simply reenacting her real-life loss. 'In that story of loss I was more than an actress, I was a wife,' she says. 'My husband deserved all I could give to show the reality of grief and loss. Perhaps the judges felt I wasn't acting when for the camera, I got the news [of Doug's passing], kissed the body goodbye, and gave the eulogy. No matter, my truth was based on a love that was real for an audience that loved him, too. 'My reward in 2024 was that I honored Doug and Julie, members of a family millions have opened their hearts to,' she said in closing. 'I am hugely blessed and promise you all I will keep on keeping on.' Daytime Emmys 2025: Y&R Leads Soap Opera Nominees View List Best of TVLine 'Missing' Shows, Found! The Biggest TV Cast Exits of the Year (So Far)
Goodbyes are never easy — and for reasons that science can't quite tell us, the goodbyes said to fictional TV characters are some of life's toughest. This year of television is little more than halfway over, but there have been plenty of those difficult farewells already, thanks to the cast exits outlined in our list below. More from TVLine Yellowstone's Beth/Rip Spinoff Taps Finn Little to Return as Carter Abigail Spencer to Star Opposite Josh Charles in Fox's Doc Martin Adaptation Adam Levine Teases Blake Shelton's Return to The Voice's Coaching Panel Thus far, we're not sure any departure hits harder than 9-1-1 star Peter Krause — whose beloved Capt. Bobby Nash was killed off in the show's April 17 episode — but the year's announced scripted-TV exits also come from Fire Country, The Pitt, #OneChicago and other shows. (The industry's unscripted side has had some surprises, too, which we've also included in our list.) We'll keep updating this list as more small-screen departures are announced and make headlines in 2025. In the meantime, keep scrolling to see who's leaving what (so far) this year, and drop a comment with the stars you're saddest to see go! Billy Flynn, Days of Our Lives After a decade in the role of Days of Our Lives' Chad DiMera, Flynn has left the Peacock soap opera for a role on fellow sudser The Young and the Restless. Because Days films months in advance, though, Flynn will still appear as Chad well into 2026. 'I am grateful for my years at Days; it changed my life in the best ways,' Flynn told TV Insider, which broke the news in March. 'I've always said these stories we tell are like doing a play, and I've spent the last 10-plus years playing this amazing character and telling one of the all-time great love stories. And now I'm excited for this opportunity and to test myself in a new way.' Y&R alum Conner Floyd has since been tapped to take over the Chad DiMera role on Days. Garcelle Beauvais, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After a five-season run on RHOBH, Beauvais shared in March that she's exiting the Bravo staple, citing her desire to spend more time with family and embark on other projects. 'I have made the decision to leave RHOBH. My primary reason for stepping away is to focus on my sons and my upcoming producing and acting projects,' Beauvais said in a statement provided to TVLine. 'Thank you to everyone at NBCU, Andy Cohen, the producers, and especially the fans. I have deeply appreciated all of your support, this isn't goodbye — it's a see you later.' Dania Ramirez, Alert: Missing Persons Unit Ramirez, a face of the Fox cop drama in its first two seasons, was surprisingly written out at the start of Season 3 in April, when her Nikki Batista was murdered via a gunshot to the head in Episode 2. Speaking to TVLine after that fateful hour, showrunner Carla Kettner confirmed that 'Nikki is truly gone, and the emotional and professional fallout from her death echoes all the way through Season 3.' She added that the choice to kill off the series' female lead was a 'big swing, creatively,' but 'the best procedurals shake things up and find ways to deepen our understanding of the characters… It's sad to say goodbye, but I think those kind of bold changes make you sit up and pay attention.' Alert: Missing Persons Unit was ultimately cancelled in June after three seasons. Daniel Kyri and Jake Lockett, Chicago Fire As first reported by Deadline in April, Kyri (aka Darren Ritter) and Lockett (aka Sam Carver) departed Chicago Fire at the end of Season 13 and won't return for the show's since-announced 14th season. According to the trade, the exits are 'part of an effort to trim the budget' of the long-running series and come 'amid rumblings about cuts across Wolf Entertainment's NBC series.' Camille Razat, Emily in Paris Razat, who played Emily's friend and Gabriel's ex-girlfriend Cami on the Netflix comedy, will not return to the show after four seasons as a series regular. 'After an incredible journey, I've made the decision to step away from Emily in Paris. It has been a truly wonderful experience — one filled with growth, creativity, and unforgettable memories,' Razat said in a statement provided to TVLine. 'This character has meant a lot to me, and I feel that her storyline has naturally come to an end. It felt like the right moment to explore new horizons.' Peter Krause, 9-1-1 9-1-1 fans were left heartbroken during the ABC drama's April 17 episode — the conclusion of its two-part 'Contagion' event — which ended with the death of Krause's Captain Bobby Nash. Showrunner Tim Minear told TVLine that the choice to kill off Bobby 'was entirely a creative decision on my part,' and not the result of Krause asking to leave the show. 'Look, am I crawling out on a skinny branch? Maybe,' Minear said. 'On the other hand, if the stakes are never real, if there's really no chance that any of this peril in which these characters find themselves amounts to anything, I think the show could die.' Pedro Pascal, The Last of Us Those familiar with the Last of Us video games may have seen it coming, but many fans of the HBO series adaptation did not: Pascal's Joel Miller was killed off in Episode 2 of the post-apocalyptic drama's second season, effectively ending Pascal's time on the show (though he returned for a flashback-heavy episode later in the season). It remains to be seen if Pascal will pop up in The Last of Us' third season at all. Billy Burke and Stephanie Arcila, Fire Country Just as Fire Country left us with quite the season-ending cliffhanger in April — Bode watched a burning building collapse with his parents and grandfather all still inside — it was reported that original cast member Billy Burke would not be back for Season 4, as Vince. The CBS drama's executive producers won't confirm Burke's exit, lest they spoil the outcome of said cliffhanger, but showrunner Tia Napolitano explained to Deadline that 'leaning into the authenticity of the real-life heroes that our characters are playing, people die, they leave. That's a reality, there's danger in this sort of job, so we wanted to honor that and really up the stakes.' Stephanie Arcila, another original cast member, also won't return for Season 4 as a series regular, though co-creator Joan Rater said 'our plan is to bring Gabriela back at some point in a really satisfying, beautiful way for the audience who I know cares as deeply about that [Bode/Gabriela] relationship as we do.' Carra Patterson, Elsbeth With NYPD Officer Kaya Blanke joining a law enforcement task force based out of Washington, D.C. (as revealed in the May 1 episode), original cast member Carra Patterson is stepping down as a series regular for Season 3. Patterson reportedly will continue to appear on a guest-starring basis, however. '[Kaya is] not leaving the world of the show. She's just not going to be with us every day,' showrunner Jonathan Tolins has said. Patterson herself similarly said in a statement to Deadline that 'fans will find out what [Kaya has] been up to in her new role as 'Detective' next season when I come back to guest-star and play with Carrie [Preston] and Wendell [Pierce].' Octavio Pisano and Juliana Aidén Martinez, Law & Order: SVU Pisano (who has played Det. Joe Velasco since Season 23) and Martinez (who joined as Det. Kate Silva for Season 26) will not return as series regulars for Season 27 of the NBC procedural. As first reported by Deadline, it's unclear whether the actors' exits are the results of creative or financial decisions. Lester Holt, NBC Nightly News Holt, who had served as anchor of NBC Nightly News since 2015, announced in February his decision to leave that role. He signed off with the May 30 broadcast and was later replaced by NBC News veteran Tom Llamas as of June 2. Holt plans to focus more on NBC's Dateline, which he has anchored since 2011. 'After 10 years, 17 if you include my years on the weekends, the time has come for me to step away from my role as anchor of Nightly News,' Holt said in a statement to staffers when announcing his departure. 'It has truly been the honor of a lifetime to work with each of you every day, keeping journalism as our true north and our viewers at the center of everything we do… I am thrilled to be able to work more closely with my enormously talented friends at Dateline as the broadcast continues to grow and attract new viewers in new places.' Ncuti Gatwa, Doctor Who Gatwa's Time Lord aka Fifteen fought off regeneration in the Season 15 finale, but eventually succumbed to the ritual — transforming into someone who looks a lot like Billie Piper's Rose, and signifying Gatwa's swan song after two Disney+ seasons. 'This journey has been one that I will never forget,' Gatwa said in a statement released with the finale, 'and a role that will be part of me forever.' Said showrunner Russell T Davies, 'What a Doctor! Thank you, Ncuti! As his final words say, this has been an absolute joy, and … everyone who has worked on this show for the past few years are so lucky to have been part of Ncuti's great adventure as he shoots off to stratospheric new heights.' Toya Turner, Chicago P.D. Not long after Turner fondly reflected on Instagram about her successful, year-ago Chicago P.D. audition, news broke that she would not be returning for Season 13 of the NBC procedural. 'My time on Chicago P.D. has come to a close,' Kiana Cook's portrayer confirmed on June 26. 'This show challenged me, sharpened me, and revealed what I'm made of. I've evolved through this experience, both as an artist and in my craft, and I'm walking away with depth, clarity, and momentum for whatever comes next.' A specific reason for Turner's departure is not known. Deadline reported that casting is underway for a new female series regular to play a 'loose cannon' ATF Task Force officer with a military background. Eva Pilgrim and DeMarco Morgan, GMA3 As first announced in July, GMA3 co-anchor Eva Pilgrim will be leaving the ABC news program to succeed Deborah Norville as anchor of Inside Edition. Pilgrim will take over this fall, as the syndicated newsmagazine enters its 38th season. Additionally, our sister site Variety reports that Pilgrim's GMA3 co-host DeMarco Morgan has also left the show and ABC News. TVLine has reached out to ABC News for comment on Pilgrim and Morgan's final GMA3 airdate. Tracy Ifeachor, The Pitt TVLine exclusively reported on July 10 that Ifeachor, who starred as Dr. Heather Collins in Season 1 of the acclaimed HBO Max medical drama, is not returning for Season 2. The confirmation came one day after Ifeachor took to Instagram to say what a 'blessing' it was to be a part of the series' freshman run — while making no mention of her possible return. Dr. Collins was last seen in Episode 11 (of 15), during a tender exchange that revealed the depth of her relationship with Noah Wyle's Dr. Robby. She confided in her ex about her recent IVF journey that ended in a miscarriage earlier that day, then revealed that she got pregnant while they were dating but chose to have an abortion. After assuring Collins that he was not upset, Robby gave her the OK to clock out an hour ahead of schedule. Michael Bradway, Chicago Fire Michael Bradway, who appeared in 17 episodes of Chicago Fire between Seasons 12 and 13, will not return as Severide's half-brother Jack Damon in Season 14 of the NBC procedural. Bradway was recently cast in Prime Video's series adaptation of Carley Fortune's 2022 novel Every Summer After, and production is already underway; Chicago Fire producers are said to be open to having Bradway reprise his role, should his schedule allow it. Days of Our Lives Recap: Jada Questions Chanel About EJ's Shooting
Days of Our Lives Recap: Jada Questions Chanel About EJ's Shooting originally appeared on Daytime Confidential. On today's Days of Our Lives recap: DiMera Mansion – Living Room: Belle arrives to see EJ with the memory card but says what's on it doesn't fully clear Johnny. They watch the footage from the memory card and EJ pretends to be surprised. He says he doesn't remember any of it but thinks the evidence is damning. Belle says Jada is questioning her right that very minute. EJ says he would do anything to save Johnny but not this way. He worries what would happen to his son's marriage if it were proven his wife tried to murder his father. They take a seat as Belle remembers how angry Chanel was when the adoption fell through. EJ says desperate people commit desperate acts. Salem PD – Jada's Office: Paulina can't believe Chanel threatened EJ's life. Jada says she has no choice but to bring Chanel in for questioning. Paulina asks what else is on the video and Jada says what she saw is where it cuts off. Paulina notes there was no gun and knows Chanel couldn't ever shoot EJ. She goes on to explain her daughter was with her that night, at least most of it. Jada says for that reason and many more she has to pull Chanel in. Paulina asks if she can call Chanel and then promises to step back and Jada agrees. Salem PD – Lobby: Johnny and Chanel embrace when she tells him about the video from the night of the shooting. She says she doesn't remember saying anything Jada says she did. Paulina says she saw the video and it is what it is. That being said, she knows Chanel didn't shoot EJ. Just then, Jada walks out and Johnny demands to see the video but she declines. Horton Square: Johnny and Chanel discuss EJ defending her. He thinks no jury would think a victim of a crime would defend someone who they believe is guilty. Johnny needs to get back to work and they agree to meet up later. Just then, Chanel gets a call from her mother saying she needs her to come down to the station and to bring Johnny with her. Kiriakis Mansion: Maggie fields a call from Melissa. She tells Sarah she had a work emergency and will be able to go on their trip to Bermuda (It would be great to see Melissa!). Sarah suggests they plan a trip with all the girls. Maggie agrees but also thinks she and Sarah should take the trip she had planned with Melissa. Sarah is thrilled about the idea but says she can't take Victoria out of the country without clearing it with Xander. Xander returns and says the nanny is packing up Victoria's things. Maggie tells him to stop escalating the situation. She laughs when he refers to himself as the most stable parent who needs to take the lead. Further, Sarah will regret fighting him. Titan/DiMera: Xander can't believe Philip suggested he quit. They both agree they don't like their current arrangement and have to figure out to play the hand they've been dealt. Philip decides it's a good time to bring up how differently Victor treated them and actually refers to his brother as just another bastard. Xander is rightfully upset and tells his brother to get out. Just then, Sarah arrives. Philip tries to smooth out the conversation she heard and quickly makes his exit. Sarah asks Xander about possibly taking Victoria on the trip with Maggie, but he immediately shuts it down. She explains they will only be gone for a week and he's being unreasonable. Xander reminds Sarah that Maggie has enough resources to allow her, and Victoria disappear forever. Sarah thinks he's being ridiculous, but Xander says he'll have her arrested if she goes. Sarah says she hates him with every fiber of her being. With that she exits and Xander quickly follows. Salem PD - Lobby: Johnny and Chanel arrive. Paulina says Jada wants to question her but shouldn't do so without a lawyer present. The couple wonder what's going on and Chanel agrees to answer questions without a lawyer present (why?). With that, she exits with Jada. Paulina tells Johnny about the footage from the memory card and how bad it looks. Johnny says there's no way Chanel would ever shoot his father. He wants to go into the interrogation room and says he will confess if it means saving Chanel. She stops him and Johnny says he would do anything to save Chanel even though he didn't shoot his father. For the first time, Paulina seems to believe what he is saying but he can't let him confess to a crime he didn't commit. Johnny says they need to find out who actually pulled the trigger for everyone's sake. Salem PD – Interrogation Room: Jada tells Chanel about the video from the memory stick. She says she always admitted she spoke with EJ that night and admits it was contentious. Jada says it was more than contentious as Chanel threatened EJ's life. She knows she left the mansion afterwards but asks if she later returned and made good on her threat. Chanel can't believe Jada thinks she would shoot anyone. Jada understands her shock but says she's talking to her as the police commissioner and not her friend. Chanel says she never went back to EJ's house and certainly didn't shoot him. Jada recounts Chanel's words from the memory stick and she admits she was angry with EJ because of the suffering he caused Johnny and his role in them losing their baby. However, she doesn't remember saying those words. Even if she did, she didn't follow through. She freaks out thinking they are going to arrest her. Jada says Chanel isn't being arrested but it does move her up the suspect list. Chanel can't believe she will once again be accused of a crime she didn't commit. Jada promises she will be treated fairly but advises her to talk to Justin soon. With that, Chanel exits. Brady Pub: Sarah sits down at Philip's table and says she needs his help to take down her husband. Philip wonders how and Sarah says he needs to admit Xander attacked him. Philip says he didn't, but Sarah still doesn't believe him. Sarah says she can talk to her mother and Stephanie and get them to swear they will never tell anyone about his and Vivian's fraud. She wonders if Philip will agree to help her if she can guarantee the fraud won't be exposed. Sarah tempts him more by saying, if Xander goes down, he would be able to run Titan/DiMera all by himself. Kiriakis Mansion: A furious Xander arrives and accuses Maggie of trying to help Sarah run off with Victoria. He wants to take Victoria right then and there, but Maggie wants him to come to his senses. She explains about what happened with Melissa, but Xander doesn't believe her. He goes upstairs to collect his daughter as Maggie grabs her phone to make a call. Days of Our Lives Recap: EJ Sets Up Chanel Endings Maggie tells Xander that Victor would be rolling over in his grave if he knew his son was trying to rip his granddaughter out of the mansion. Xander gets all kinds of disrespectful and Maggie realizes he's feeling unloved and unwanted. She begs him not to return to who he used to be – the man who would rip Victoria from her mother's arms. Xander leans in and says he is the monster his father made. She says she's calling the police but Xander says he has just as much right to his daughter as Sarah. Belle tells EJ she needs to head back to work. He does his best to distract her with a trip upstairs to the bedroom. She giggles and the two kiss and head upstairs. Philip is tempted by Sarah's plan but thinks there are too many folks who could back out. Sarah doubles down saying she can make the plan work, and he deserves justice. All he has to do is tell the truth. Philip takes a breath and says he can't help her. Xander, Chanel and Paulina arrive in Horton Square and discuss the case. Just then, Paulina gets a text from Justin saying he's in court and will check his schedule to see if he can represent Chanel. Sarah arrives home to find a distraught Maggie who tells her Xander took Victoria. Keep checking back for the latest Days of Our Lives recaps! Days of Our Lives Recap: Kristen and Gwen Reunite originally appeared on Daytime Confidential. On today's Days of Our Lives recap: DiMera Mansion: Belle and EJ are basking in the afterglow when she realizes the day has gotten away from them. She must go back to work, but he successfully tempts her to stay a while longer. Belle and EJ complete round two (or three or four) when he says they need sustenance. With that, he heads downstairs. EJ returns and Belle is very impressed with his eggs benedict. She enjoys spending time with him in this way as they will soon be on opposing sides. EJ understands but notes they have the same goal of exonerating Johnny. She wonders how she was put back on the case but doesn't want any details. EJ knows he's put Belle in a bad position but says the new video may mean she won't have to prosecute Johnny. She might even consider dropping the charges… Belle is so annoyed and says Johnny has to be exonerated in a court of law. EJ questions her motives but Belle realizes, as per usual, he's trying to manipulate her. She grabs her clothes and storms out the door. Park: Tate texts Holly wondering where she is. After getting no response from her or Arianna, he leaves Holly a voicemail. Marlena and John's Penthouse: Brady says he has good news for Kristen. Chanel is now a suspect in EJ's murder. She is thrilled the charges against Johnny will possibly be dropped meaning Rachel won't have to testify. Brady notes it's a no win situation for Johnny. Kristen thanks Brady for keeping her in the loop. She notes her run in with EJ who wanted her to coach Rachel to lie on the stand to exonerate Johnny. Brady loses his cool but Kristen stops him from going to confront her brother. Just then, Tate arrives home and Kristen exits. Brady wonders why he is home and not at the lake with Holly. Tate says Holly never showed up. He says he went to the lake, and no one saw Holly nor Arianna Grace. Tate thinks she might be ghosting him but Brady squashes those thoughts. He asks if there is anyone else who would know where Holly is and Tate's mind goes to young Douglas. Chanel and Johnny's Place: Johnny calls Philip to say he won't be back in but will be around early tomorrow. Chanel emerges from the bedroom and is impressed at his composure. She is freaked out as all of Salem will think one of them shot EJ. Johnny says it's up to them to figure out who shot his father. They discuss the memory card and Chanel says she does not remember threatening EJ. Johnny believes her as she would never shoot anyone, but even if she did, she wouldn't let him take the fall. Chanel and Johnny decide to come up with a list of possible suspects. He mentions Gabi and Ava but notes his father focused on Kristen. Johnny thinks they should be taking notes but when he looks for paper, he finds a receipt indicating Chanel put Sweet Bits up as collateral for his bail. She says the money had to come from her so Johnny knew she supported him. The two exchange I love yous and embrace. Random Warehouse: The loan shark goon holds Holly and Arianna Grace at gunpoint. He says they will be free to go when a mutual friend of there's comes up with the money he owes, otherwise, things will get complicated. Further, he knows their families are loaded and the girls agree. The goon tells them to sit tight and behave. With that, he exits. Holly tells Arianna Grace she's only in this mess because of her. She explains her connection to 'this guy' who owes a lot of money to loan sharks. Arianna thinks it's a weird coincidence as the guy she's seeing also owes money. Holly asks his name and Arianna replies, Doug Williams. She freaks out as they realize they were hooked up with the same guy. They begin to compare notes and Holly assures her that she and Doug were never hooking up nor in a relationship. Arianna is furious with Doug because he is the reason their lives are in danger. Arianna Grace always thought young Douglas was holding something back. She now thinks he was only with her because he couldn't be with Holly. They move back to talking about their current dilemma and how Doug doesn't have the money to pay the goons. Holly says she dropped her class ring in the alley which has her name on it. She then remembers Tate was waiting on them and should realize something is wrong. Salem Inn – Gwen's Room: Young Douglas poses as a bell boy and knocks on Gwen's door. As he is about to break in, Gwen shows up and asks what he is doing. Doug says he was delivering her room service. As Gwen is speaking, Doug notices she is wearing the necklace. Brady Pub: Outside, young Douglas spots the loan shark goon and throws him against a wall. He demands the girls be let go but the goon says he needs added incentive. Doug promises to get him the money, and the goon gives him until sun-up tomorrow. He tells him not to involve the police and exits. DiMera Mansion – Living Room: Gwen arrives and sees Kristen. The two embrace, giggle and begin to catch up. Gwen says she took Kristen's advice and appealed to the Von Leuschner's about Dimitri's inheritance. Now, she is filthy rich! Kristen is thrilled and asks why in the world she chose to return to Salem. Gwen says she has so many friends and family in Salem. Kristen thought her family hated her and she was pretty much her only friend, except Leo. Gwen notes she will never forgive Leo for messing around with her husband. Kristen assumed Dimitri would have divorced Gwen when he was released from prison. Gwen says he didn't and further, no one has heard from him. She says it doesn't matter as she is still a Von Leuschner and a DiMera. With that, she says she wants to move into the mansion. Days of Our Lives Recap: Doug's Loan Shark Snatches Holly and Arianna Endings Chanel and Johnny decide to cut the conversation and simply embrace. Young Douglas pours himself a quick shot and stares at the cash register when Tate arrives. He tells him the story of Holly not showing up at the lake, but Doug says he knows nothing. Holly worries Tate thinks she ghosted him, but Arianna Grace is certain he will ask questions. Holly prays they are found in time. Kristen can't believe Gwen wants to live at the mansion. Kristen is uncertain as the mansion has recently been quite tension-filled. She says it's like a powder keg ready to explode. Just then, Belle storms in and grabs her purse. EJ follows and then Belle storms out. Kristen ribs her brother when he spots Gwen. He refers to her last name as Rizczech but she corrects him with Von Lueschner. She and Kristen giggle as Gwen says it's going to such fun living together under the same roof. Keep checking back for the latest Days of Our Lives recaps! On today's Days of Our Lives recap: Stephanie's Place: Stephanie is prepping for her meeting with EJ and ignoring Alex. He continues talking about his day at work whilst she pays little attention. She's lost clients recently and could use the work. Alex wants her to write full time but she isn't so sure. With that, he shows her the mock up for her book cover. Stephanie loves the cover and has no notes. She even loves her pseudonym, Anastasia Sands. Alex loves they used her Grandma Jo's (nice!) romance novels as inspiration for the name. She can't believe the book she wrote for fun is going to be out in the world. Alex reports Kate is making it her number one priority to put the Titan publishing reboot on the map. With that, they get all hot and heavy… until Kayla interrupts and Alex quickly exits. Stephanie fills in her mother on EJ's job offer. She says she would actually be working for her and the hospital. Stephanie wonders whether she should accept the potential offer. Kayla thinks she would be a tremendous asset but thinks she should run in the opposite direction. She worries about the big changes EJ wants to make. Kayla thinks spinning EJ's actions could be incredibly tricky. Stephanie thinks she could use her position to highlight the hospital in the best possible way. Just then, Alex returns and Kayla tries to make a quick exit. As she gets up, she sees the mock up for Stephanie's book cover. Alex says Titan is publishing it and Kayla notes it went around the hospital and she LOVES it. With that, she exits. Hernandez House: Rafe gets a text from 'Kelly Jones' for their meetup in 20 minutes. Gabi walks in having forgotten a binder and wonders where he's off to. Gabi plays it off saying she's trying to play it cool as she assumes she's having the time of her life. Titan/DiMera: Xander is doing business whilst Victoria is crying. He walks his daughter around but she continues to cry. Just then, Gabi arrives willing to help. Xander is resistant but Gabi says it's always a good idea to let someone else help. Gabi quickly gets Victoria to sleep and Xander is amazed. She tells him not to overthink it as they've been separated for a month. Gabi thinks Xander and his daughter just need to get reacquainted. She says she's in a similar position as her daughter has just moved home after a long separation. With that, they get to work. Gabi brings up the holiday campaign for Gabi Chic. Xander notes that video should already have been shot along with the one with him and Philip. He wonders if hiring Johnny, with all of his legal baggage, was the best move. Gabi reminds Xander of his own baggage and encourages him to cut Johnny a break (These two have mad chemistry). Park: Cat runs into Thomas and Chad in the park. Thomas asks if Cat wants to play catch but Chad says another time. Thomas offers his glove but Cat says she can't play right now. Thomas pushes but Cat says she has some place to be. Just then, Chad remembers spying a suspicious text on Cat's phone. With that, she exits. Thomas asks his father why he was trying to get rid of Cat. He says he just wanted some alone time with his son. DiMera Mansion – Living Room: Gwen arrives downstairs, much to EJ's chagrin. She's ready to gather her belongings and move in but EJ says construction is happening and must wait a few days. EJ notices Gwen's necklace and then realizes it was the same one stolen from Julie Williams. She says she bought it without being aware of it's origin. EJ assumes she will return it. Gwen says she will do so when hell freezes over. EJ notes her Horton grudge. Gwen wonders why she wouldn't hold one after 'that hag' Laura sent her and her mother packing before Jack knew she existed. In addition, they all treated her like trash when she first moved to Salem. EJ thinks there are two sides to every story. Just then, Chad and Thomas walk in. Thomas asks Gwen why she has Julie's necklace and wonders why she won't return it. Gwen says there has been some confusion about the owner of the necklace. EJ thinks it will all sort itself out and Chad concurs. Rafe's Office: Cat arrives with information about EJ's finances. Rafe says the FBI and ISA have set up an interagency task force to take down the DiMeras. She understands it's the best time to strike as the family seems to be off their game. They both agree starting with the purchase of University Hospital is a good place to start. Cat is curious why this investigation is so personal to him. Rafe tells Cat about the decades long Arnold saga. Cat wonders how EJ does all these horrible things and then comes off as so normal. Rafe thinks EJ is a sociopath who will do anything to get what he wants. Cat says she also has a personal stake in the investigation as the doctors at University Hospital saved Felicity's life. Cat mentions her connection to Chad. Rafe says Chad knows his family's history but says he's the good one. She also worries about Aaron and Felicity (What about Mark? Don't forget about Mark!) getting hurt by her work with the ISA. Rafe understands as he's also protective of his siblings. Cat worries about this assignment as they will be out in the field. Rafe promises to have her back and says he can show her some basic self defense moves. Days of Our Lives Recap: Kristen and Gwen Reunite Endings Chad sends Thomas upstairs so he can light into Gwen about her treatment of Julie. He wants her gone, which tickles EJ. Gwen ignores him saying she has business dealings. Chad says to stay away from his family (Did y'all notice EJ looking like the cat who ate the canary?). Gwen notes she is a part of both sides of his family as she is still married to Dimitri. She says she wants to soak up her DiMera identity and will be moving into the family home. Xander thanks Gabi for helping with Victoria. She says parenting is a challenge but worth it. Gabi makes mention of not being able to have another baby and thinks Xander should be grateful for his entire life. Xander understands he has everything he ever wanted… except Sarah. Rafe thinks Cat's financial information on EJ confirms he had a silent partner in purchasing the hospital. Stephanie is HORRIFIED her mother read all the steamy parts of her novel. Alex gets tickled and says it's all good because she doesn't know who wrote it. She quickly changes directions so they can get back to reenacting page 86.
