ITV Deal Or No Deal viewers 'switch off' as they share same complaint about show

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info ITV's broadcast of a Deal Or No Deal celebrity special went down like a lead balloon among viewers who all complained about one particular aspect of the show. Monday's episode was a repeat of the December 8, 2024 special, which featured I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! winner Sam Thompson attempting the beat the banker. Stephen Mulhern returned as the host to help Sam, also known for his exploits on Made In Chelsea, win money for his chosen charity as he was reunited with some of his close friends, including TOWIE's Pete Wicks, and his former jungle mates such as actors Danielle Harold and Nick Pickard. However, viewers were left less than impressed, with complaints flooding in about one particular aspect that detracted from their enjoyment. Disgruntled viewers took to social media to vent, labelling the show "unwatchable". Criticism was aimed at ITV for allocating screen time to those deemed "Z-List celebrities". (Image: ITV) One viewer commented: "You clearly have a very different definition of 'TV legend' than the rest of us. Unless it means the most annoying nothing on TV." A second viewer flew into a rage, saying: "#DealorNoDeal is on and it's f*****g horrendous at best of times, but f*****g unwatchable with all the Z Lister so called celebrities." A third questioned the show's casting choices, adding: "There may be an obvious answer but how can Deal or No Deal have a celebrity special without having any celebrities in it." A fourth quipped about a potential silver lining in the episode, saying: "The only famous one there Paul who has a hilarious TikTok sketches and he just opens a box at the very end #dealornodeal." (Image: ITV) Elsewhere, Sam opened up last Sunday about being diagnosed with autism, after having previously disclosed his ADHD diagnosis in 2023. He termed the condition a "blessing" and referred to it as his "superpower". He candidly admitted feeling there was more to his earlier diagnosis and opted for a fun-filled approach to sharing the news on Instagram. His video featured him portraying two sides of himself – one embodying his true self and the other his ADHD persona. Text displayed in the engaging clip stated: "You got diagnosed with ADHD in your late twenties, but something still doesn't add up..." Crafting a light-hearted yet informative narrative, the reality TV personality captioned his post with: "Knew there was more to the story," followed by a chuckling emoji. The post received a wave of affirmative comments, commending his use of humour to highlight and educate on the matter, reports the Express. The Deal Or No Deal star STILL shrouded in mystery as fans floored by identity of game show's original banker

Deal Or No Deal fans have been left floored by the identity of the game show's original banker - but one figure still remains shrouded in mystery. Earlier this week, it was revealed who exactly was behind the phone in the original series hosted by Noel Edmonds, which aired from 2005 to 2016. Unbeknownst to viewers, the mystery man had been gracing British TV screens long before Deal Or No Deal and was Coronation Street star Glenn Hugill. However, when the show was rebooted in 2023 and Stephen Mulhern took the helm a different banker took Glenn's place. It is still unknown who is the banker in the new series and next to no information has been released about him. Despite this revelation, the host of the reboot, Stephen, maintains that he has no idea who the current show's Banker is. However, when the show was rebooted in 2023 and Stephen Mulhern (pictured) took the helm a different banker took Glenn's place 'I don't know who the Banker is,' he said, 'so I wouldn't be able to recognise who it was - he could walk past me at any point.' Mulhern notes that the voice on the other end of the phone is 'male,' but divulges no further information. Stephen previously joked about the banker in a social media post back in March addressing when the next season of the show would air. He posted a video of himself alongside the caption, 'Don't worry: Deal Or No Deal is coming back! 'The Banker's just gone off on holiday. Again. One of his cruises, I'd imagine, tormenting strangers over the buffet. 'I'll let you know when the new series is about to start so you don't miss a single dramatic moment!' The original banker, Glenn, is best known to fans for his role as police detective Alan McKenna, a part he played from 1996 to 1997, appearing in 86 episodes of the soap. In the show, Detective Alan McKenna was due to marry Fiona Middleton (Angela Griffin), but their nuptials were called off when he discovers her one-night stand with Jim McDonald (Charles Lawson). But since his character was last seen on the cobbles, Glenn has flipped the script, starring from the sidelines on Deal Or No Deal. In addition to playing the role of the elusive Banker, he was reportedly also involved in the assembly of the show as an executive producer, which was disappointing to fans. Glenn ran his own production company behind the scenes, Possessed, which he sold to ITV two years ago to join the team at Wheelhouse, Jimmy Kimmel's media behemoth. It had been previously insinuated that Noel Edmonds was friends with the Banker and, thereby, knew his identity. Earlier this year, a contestant who won a record-breaking amount on Deal Or No Deal revealed all about her experience on the show. Nay Nay, 28, bagged £75,000 on the popular ITV game show hosted by Stephen Mulhern, 47, during an episode that aired in February. After growing up watching the programme with her mother, the paralegal from London decided to apply when she searched online to see if it was still broadcast. The decision paid off and Nay Nay ended up breaking show records with her huge win, and has told MailOnline how 'blessed' she feels. Throughout her game, Nay Nay stuck to her plan of not taking any of the Banker's offers and staying with her original box until the end - and it proved to be a great success. She shared her experience of being on the show, including insider details of how contestants are selected to play. When a new game begins the names of every player in the studio are spun on a screen and one is randomly chosen. Quite often, contestant's family members will be shown sat on the front row of the audience and in Nay Nay's case, her grandmother. 'They're not actually sitting there when the names are turning... they move them there once you're selected to play,' she explained. The paralegal revealed she didn't know she would be chosen beforehand, and added 'you will never actually know when it's your turn to play'.
